We all think we know what kind of animal we'd be if we weren't human. Knowing your soul well enough to judge your spirit animal is hard, but we all know how we dress. Maybe our clothes say more about us than we really know. That's the idea behind Yago Partal's Zoo Portraits, where he matches various animals up with their (men's) spirit outfit.

When Martin Usborne started the series"The Silence of Dogs in Cars", the photographer walked around car parks looking for dogs left inside cars but his quest wasn't too successful so he decided to entirely orchestrate each photo, stopping people who were having a stroll with their dogs, matching each animal with a car and location.
Here are some heartbreaking photos of some starving orangutans being rescued from their home in the Borneo Rainforest. The forest wasn't really a forest at all as it was razed for a palm oil plantation. The orangutan have been eating bark to survive while clinging on to remaining trees as bulldozers approached. The animals were rescued just in time by U.K. Charity international Animal Rescue and the Forestry Department in Ketapang, Southeast Asia. Luckily the Palm Oil Company contacted the forestry department first before tearing it all down. The orangutan are still in bad condition but continuing to eat and get into better health.

Waxwings are a family (Bombycillidae) of passerine birds characterized by their soft, silky plummage. Some of the wing feathers have unique red tips where the shafts extend beyond the barbs; in the Bohemian and Cedar Waxwings, these tips look like sealing wax, and give the group its common name.
With the weather getting warmer, it’s time to get back outside and reconnect with the wildlife—and no place will let you get closer to the wildest of wild things than Lujan Zoo in Argentina. Located just outside Buenos Aires, Lujan Zoo provides zoogoers the opportunity to bottle feed a bear, cuddle a tiger, or rub noses with a lion, and, if these pictures are accurate, walk away un-mauled. While many visitors assert the animals are clearly drugged, the zoo insists the tameness is entirely natural, a product of raising each cub from birth and teaching them to be calm, permissive, and uninterested in eating humans. Since opening in 1994, there have been no reports of unexpected predation, but whether that perfect record is due to good training, luck, or bribery of authorities is hotly debated. Check out this extreme petting zoo below, and remember, the Lujan Zoo is one of the only places in the world where you can pet wild animals, an extremely dangerous activity that you should not take lightly and should never try outside the confines of such facilities.

As much as I hate raccoons, this one is actually adorable. It must've been a musician in past life. This raccoon plays with a garden sprinkler and it looks as if it is actually strumming on a harp. The musical harp noises dubbed over the video really tie it all together.
If you take the story of Bambi and replace the deer with a polar bear you get the story of Kali. The story starts off sad with a native Alaskan Inupiat substance hunter named James Tazruk shooting a polar bear which he is allowed to do by federal law. After inspecting the bear he saw that it had been nursing. Tazruk then followed the mother polar bear tracks more than 1,200 feet until he found the polar bears den with her cub inside. Tazruk took the little bear cub by snowmobile to his home village 40 miles away and then contacted the Alaska Zoo. The zoo then welcomed in the cub who is now named Kali. In the summer Kali will be moved to the Buffalo Zoo where he will be raised with another polar bear cub named Luna.

The Squirrel now named Zip took four weeks to open its eyes and now at five weeks is fully aware and getting playful. What a cute story.

Call it skill, luck or just being at the right place at the right time. Chris McLennan is an international award winning travel and adventure photographer who's captured some truly amazing photos of great white sharks breaching. The ocean around Seal Island, in False Bay, South Africa, is the only place in the world where the sharks breach when they hunt their prey, which in this case is the Cape Fur seal. According to National Geographic, full breaches, like the one shown above, are rare because they take up so much energy. South Africa's waters are full of baby seals so sharks have learned to attack from below with incredible speeds, which propels them out of the water as they snap up their next meal.
