People underestimate the potential of their fuzzy compadres. Though not your typical portrait study models, these lovely creatures can make that photograph say a thousand words. If you're into photography, try using a dog or cat as your model for your next project. You never know what you can get.

Us humans savor our shower time. And though our pets seem to hate it, out in nature it's a holy time for creatures to get the sun off their scorching bodies & let a little relaxation take place. 

Animals have genetic mishaps just like people, and one such case has been discovered in the Mombo area of Botswana‘s Okavango Delta. Maned lionesses have been regularly spotted there since 2002. These maned lionesses look exactly like males therefore making them safer, since other animals are more scared to steal food or attack the pride. This phenomena most likely occurs because the fetus is exposed to higher than normal androgen levels ( male hormones such as testosterone ) during gestation period. The president of the big-cat conservation group Panthera, Luke Hunter believes that there's a possibility of the lion population in that area being genetically predisposed to this phenomena.

As we saw earlier, some designers are beginning to use their dogs in magazine ads and billboards. Well, it looks like someone's going to have to start a new talent agency -- for pets! These adorable cats and dogs have already gotten wind of the rumor that they are now accepted in the fashion world, and have set out to have their glamour shots spammed out to all the best talent agencies in town. 

Penguins often don't get the attention they deserve! In reality they are very funny creatures with an incredible sense of adventure. 

Have you ever gone to the zoo in the late winter/early spring? It gets pretty steamy in those animal pens. For now it's still winter, and out cute buddies at the local Zoo are sticking together to keep warm... with kisses!

Looks like the Hindu belief of reincarnation is more real than we Christianized people realized. There are cats all over the world that resemble great dictators of the past. Of course they would come back as cats! The most evil and selfish of all the animals ;)  

As for the rest... I think mother nature is just toying with us.

Recently 1000 cats were discovered crammed in small cages in the back of a crashed lorry in Ghangsha, China. These cats were to be distributed to the restaurants of Guangdong as food. The locals fed and gave them water after almost a day of being stranded in the middle of the road, 15 cats per 2 ft by 3 ft cage, and sent to the Small Animal Protection Association!

These birds are frickin' awesome! They're putting good ol' Skrillex to shame with their awesome hardcore beats! 

Ever since the movie Jaws came out, people around the world have been terrified of sharks. It's unfortunate, how misunderstood these poor creatures are. Yes, they are predators, but they are not man-killers. It is totally possible to dive  around sharks and be completely safe. 

Did you know...? At birth, the giant panda typically weighs 100 to 200 grams (3 ¹⁄₂ to 7 oz) and measures 15 to 17 centimeters (6 to 7 in) long. As adults they can weigh up to 125 kg (280 lb.) and can get as tall as 1.2 to 1.8 meter (4-6 ft).
