A 400-pound woman who fell through a New York sidewalk claims that her size actually came to her rescue and that a slimmer woman may not have survived the accident. Ulanda Williams, 32, of Queens, was attempting to shelter from the rain outside a restaurant on Manhattan's Upper East Side on Friday night when the ground collapsed beneath her. The six-foot-five woman fell about seven feet into a hollow basement, breaking her arm in two places and had to be rescued by the fire department with a crane.

A remarkable photograph of a baby reaching out from the womb to grip the finger of the doctor working to deliver her by C-section has drawn a huge amount of attention on the Internet. The baby is named Nevaeh (it’s “Heaven” spelled backward) and her mother, Alicia Atkins, is a professional photographer. She didn’t take this particular photo, since she was rather preoccupied at the time, so the shutterbug duties fell to her husband Randy.

Russian Northern coast is a vast territory lays for a few thousand of miles and all this coastline is inside the Polar Circle. Long polar winters mean no daylight at all, just one day changes another without any sign of the Sun rising above the horizon. There is only polar night for 100 day a year. But across this Northern coast there was always a short way for the cargo boats to travel from Eastern part of Russia to the Western. Now this trip can be made fairly easy with the appearance of all the satellite navigation equipment like GPS and others, but during the Soviet Era they had none of this.

What Happens When You Give Thousands of Stickers to Thousands of Kids

Ever wonder what would happen if you gave your kids thousands of stickers and complete freedom? Then you have to see these cool pictures taken in the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane. Artist Yayoi Kusama recreated Australian domestic environment, complete with locally sourced furniture and ornamentation, all of which has been painted completely white to serve as a giant white canvas. The museum’s smallest visitors were then given thousands of colored dot stickers and invited to transform the space. As with many of Kusama’s works, the current installation entitled The Obliteration Room is “disarmingly simple in its elemental composition; however, it brilliantly exploits the framework of its presentation”. It is also part of Kusama’s Look Now, See Forever exhibition running trough March 12.

We have already featured some beautiful cut-away leaf art by Lorenzo Duran before, and now I came a cross a very similar ad campaign by Legas Delaney for Plant for the Planet. The aim of the campaign was to show leaf’s ability to absorb CO2. At first I thought the idea of leaf cutting was borrowed from Duran, however after looking at the credits I realized that the artist was actually working on this campaign.
