Witches of Hadramawt
09 jan 2013 23:34
Women in the Hadramaut area wear all black and the ones who work in the fields wear tall conical shaped straw sunhats, like witches hats, which contrast quite starkly with their black clothes. Everybody wants to photograph them but unfortunately women in Yemen do not like being photographed, those in Hadramaut more so.

The best part is that his Brooklyn home and studio is actually rented! Martin says that her landlords are supportive of her scribbling habit, as long as it is limited to the top floor. Something Little Mikey Can't Say No To
09 jan 2013 13:04

When my little brother and I were kids, we used to love Jurrasic Park. Once every six months, if we were lucky, we'd get to go to a museum with dinosaur bones and other awesome creatures. Little Mikey could not resist picking up shells and rocks from the beach, fossils from the forrest, or even fish bones from restaurants. I used to find them all over my clothes! If only we had had the Discovery Box...

The "Discovery Box," is a neat little box made for collecting scientific and natural items. This furniture-quality product is finished with a smooth varnish to protect your kid from splinters and injuries. At 29" wide x 10.5" tall x 11.5" deep, this awesome little collectors box will bring out the little archeologist in any tyke! :)

Everything else I give away to charity so someone else can have their story with it."

Beyond that there is not much information on the artist aside from his fantastic artwork that can be seen on his personal website and Facebook. His older work primarily centers around a silhouetted man and his cat. They can be spotted roaming the city, injecting colour and traipsing over poorly scrawled graffiti.

Phraya Nakon Cave, Thailand
09 jan 2013 09:26
Nestled deep within Thailand’s Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, almost 300 kilometres south of Bangkok, the Phraya Nakon Cave is one of the most exquisite caves in Thailand and definitely one of the most photographed. The main attraction is the Kuha Karuhas pavilion located inside the Phraya Nakhon. The pavillion was built by King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) in the 1890, when he visited the place and fell in love with its beauty. Later, King Prajadhipok (Rama VII) and the present King of Thailand, King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) also visited the cave. The main chamber contains the signatures of both King Rama V and King Rama VII on the wall.

Photorealistic Ballpoint Pen Drawings by 29-Year-Old Lawyer
09 jan 2013 09:20
I‘m no longer surprised to see lawyers do their seemingly effortless pen flips so as to demonstrate the opposing side how little the situation on the floor intimidates them. What does come as a surprise, though, is learning that same Bic pen can be used to create art masterpieces in the hands of a lawyer. Samuel Silva, a 29-year-old Portugal-based attorney, describes his artwork merely as a hobby, and Bic ballpoint pens – as only one of the mediums in his creative work. It takes time to believe that his drawings are not actually photographs, and then to absorb the information that they were created using only 8 different-colored pens.

Liquid Drop Art by Corrie White
09 jan 2013 09:16
Some probably think these fantastical shapes are created by computer, but actually, those are real liquid drops, captured in high speed by Corrie White. Born in the Netherlands and currently based in Canada, Corrie told us that drop photography started off as a mere hobby and soon she went from using primitive tools to pro equipment. It all started when Corrie discovered mesmerizing Martin Waugh’s art a few years ago. “I got the chance to try this for myself and found I had quite a knack for the liquid art. I started out using a medicine dropper for these and have now advanced to using The Time Machine electronics to produce some amazing liquid forms,” says Corrie.

Mesmerizing Liquid Sculptures by Marcus Reugels
09 jan 2013 09:11
You would think that sculptures are a somewhat still, inert form of art. But Germany-based artist Marcus Reugels has a different idea, and the liquid sculptures that he captures in movement are nothing but a striking proof of that. His thought is that shapes caught in movement become static, therefore, frozen sculptures in a photograph.
