This is the Green Lake in Tragoess, Styria, which sits at the foot of Austria's snow-capped Hochschwab mountains. In Autumn and Winter, the lake sits low and shallow, revealing a park with benches, trees, and beautiful flowers of all colors. It's a popular spot for hikers and nature lovers. But when Spring begins to bloom, the snow from the mountains begins to trickle down, causing the park the flood with crystal clear ice water. The lake gets its name from the bright green foliage beneath and can rise up to 10 meters! Divers come to explore at the peak of the season, in June, and dwindle towards July, when the waters begin to recede.

This is the Green Lake in Tragoess, Styria, which sits at the foot of Austria's snow-capped Hochschwab mountains.

We all know the Japanese have a thing for brutal murder, suicide, and other kamikaze-related things. But did you know they're also obsessed with fire? Every year, Japan holds [several] fire festivals? People from around the country gather to watch and participate in dangerous acts of fire bending, climbing a burning building, swinging balls of fire around, and other insane things. The weirdest part is that many of these people bring their young children along. Everything is set on fire: people, fireworks, structures, random bamboo, symbolic architecture, and more. And don't forget to bring your sake along, because at these events everyone is drunk!
