Macklemore looks like a young, hip Toby Flenderson
28 jun 2013 11:58
Our friend Macklemore has been stirring things up in the music world recently. At this point, I have come to accept that he will never again be the awesome underground hip-hop artist I once loved, and will now turn into the mainstream media magnet that will attract the attention of millions of internet couch potatos for what ever obscure reasons. Oh! Here's one! Macklemore has some kind of weird, uncanny resemblance to Toby Flenderson. How many office fance do we have up in here? Woot Woot! Worth looking at, for the LOL's anyways.

Light Up Your Party with Star Wars Alcohol!
28 jun 2013 11:20

In the 21st century, we have seen tremendous advances in the fields of science, mathematics, physics, astronomy, and social sciences. Just like Shakespeare is still releavant after decades of literature, Star wars has now become just as important. That's right, I said it! In order to function normally in society nowadays, it is impossible to go on with your life not having watched Star Wars. Why? Because in litereally every corner that you turn, there will always be a Star Wars reference. Because Star Wars is a metaphore for life. Because Star Wars represents Justice, Liberty, Happiness, Freedom, and thr triumph of good versus evil. That being said, you can also play various different drinking games while watching all six movies and get thoroughly wasted, and guess what? The best way to get wasted is with Star Wars alcohol.

Tiny Mechanical Insects Made of Watch Parts
28 jun 2013 11:18
Chicago-based artist Justin Gershenson-Gates, aka A Mechanical Mind, creates tiny steampunk insects by carefully soldering together gears, springs, and other watch parts. The mechanical bugs, many of which Gershenson-Gates can balance on just his pinky finger, are miniature, multi-legged creatures that each take the artist several hours to complete. Like a robotic army of creepy crawlers, the metallic mites invoke a sense of mechanical technology come to life. There's something altogether exciting, intriguing, and frightening about the collection that screams "science fiction horror film." You can hear their metallic little legs feverishly clicking as though they're scurrying across a room just by looking at them.

Jimmy Kimmel Proves Justin Bieber’s Fans Will Forgive Him for Anything
27 jun 2013 14:25
To see just how forgiving Justin Bieber fans are of his transgressions, Jimmy Kimmel sent a reporter out to talk to Beliebers and ask them how they feel about his recent spate of heinous and/or ridiculous bad behavior. But here’s the catch: These aren’t things the Biebs actually did. The takeaway is that basically, Beliebers will forgive Justin anything, even if it’s desecrating national symbols, being illiterate or parking in handicap spots. In this segment of ‘Lie Witness News,’ Bieber fans are asked hilariously untrue questions like, “Are you upset because his new Bentley has tires made of baby seals?” And, “Do you think Justin meant it when he peed on the American flag?” Or our favorite, “Justin punched his grandma in the stomach so hard that she had to go to the hospital, is that okay?” Spoilers: According to his fans, Justin Bieber can punch all the grandmas he wants. Other answers include “he shouldn’t have to walk much” and “he’s like God.” And if this surprises you, check out how many young girls were recently willing to convert to Islam just to maybe win a pair of Bieber concert tickets. Ugh. Do the children have to be our future?

Iconic Cars In Film Brilliantly Brought Back To Life
27 jun 2013 14:10
Sometimes the most memorable scenes from films are not those staring the actors, but actually the props. Remember when you first saw the classic Ecto-1 car from Ghostbuster hurling through the streets of New York? Or the stylish sleek Batmobile speeding along chasing those dastardly villains? And what about the Delorean car from Back to the Future – how badly did we all want a ride that? Each car is not etched in movie folklore, constantly referenced in popular culture and are now established as iconic moments from the films they starred in. Just like many film fans, exceptional Turkish photographer Cihan Ünalan loves these classic cars as well – so much so that he has created his own magnificent tribute to them. He has single-handily built small models of each famous car, photographing them in crisp detail. You can see more of his incredible efforts and entire the series Cars We Love right here. Don’t forget to check out cihanunalan.com to stay up to date with his latest work too. http://www.cihanunalan.com/ http://www.behance.net/cihanunalan

Roughly 1 person in 7 on the entire planet has a Facebook account. It is now ubiquitous in our everyday lives and whether you treat the company with suspicion or welcome it’s influence with open arms, it has fundamentally changed the way the world communicates. We’ve already taken you on a walk down the corridors of power at Facebook and even given you a behind the scenes look at exactly how the perfect profile picture is created but today we’re looking at the very core of the site. Its data. With over a billion users updating their status, sharing photos and uploading videos, do any of us have any idea where it’s all housed and stored? Facebook has a frankly ginormous data warehouse which tracks and keeps all your information, details and likes under lock and key. But few have seen it until now. Thanks to our friends at Ned Hardy, here’s 14 photographs that take you deep into the very foundations of Facebook itself, the vault of Big Brother and a place where a billion stories are documented. Is it what you expected? http://nedhardy.com/2013/06/25/a-few-awesome-pictures-from-facebooks-new-data-center/

102-Year-Old Ship in Sydney Became A Floating Forest
27 jun 2013 12:33
For all those whose heart starts beating faster when they see something old and abandoned, Homebush Bay in Sydney is the place to visit. This is were many 20th century ships, which are no longer used, ended up: one of them, the SS Ayrfield, is definitely the most impressive sight for all the lush flora, growing in its rusted hull. The fully-grown mangrove trees earned this 102-year-old, 1,140-tonne ship the Floating Forest name among the locals. The SS Ayrfield served as a collier on the sixty-miler run between Newcastle and Sydney and would transport the supplies to American troops in the Pacific Ocean. The ship was brought to the Bay back in 1972 to be dismantled, but the operations eventually ceased and the bay no longer served as a ship wrecking yard. The SS Ayrfield, along with many other ships that were used during WW2, were simply left there to decay. Besides its history for ship-breaking and the spooky ship cemetery, Homebush Bay is home to the Olympic Stadium today as well. Although there are people, passionate about photographing various abandoned objects, many tourists are drawn to the bay because of the Floating Forest alone. What a sight!

Unexpected Pin-Up Portraits Explore Feminine Beauty
27 jun 2013 11:33
These oil on canvas paintings by artist Emily Burns explore contemporary concepts of female beauty. The artist's experimental portraits, a series entitled Deer Girls, feature sensual, feminine figures paired with deer heads. The realistic pin-up girl portraits stimulate a curiosity about the natural blend between human and animal. By eliminating the face, Burns removes a viewer's natural instinct to form a personal connection with the subjects. This lack of human identity creates an environment where the objectification of the feminine form is inevitable.

Gun vs. Sword: Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
27 jun 2013 10:30

Much to the dismay of screenwriters, movies scripts aren't always set in stone. They are often like living objects constantly evolving during the filming process. Some films, like Jaws and Annie Hall, don't even have a finished script when the cameras start to roll. Actors and actresses are regularly ad libbing, improvising or going off-script while reciting their lines. Sometimes the directors hate it - other times they love it. Occasionally the improved lines become immortalized as some of the most memorable in cinema history. Check out these 32 great unscripted scenes - you may be surprised at how many of your favorite lines were off-the-cuff.

7 Real Concerns Men Should Have Before Going on Vacation
26 jun 2013 22:47
It’s summertime, which means you’ll probably take a week off for vacation to relax. But a vacation can be anything but relaxing. A new British survey has found men’s biggest concern before going on holiday (as those wacky Brits call it) is getting rid of their beer belly (which, as we all know, is false). This fear is misplaced, however, because there are plenty of other matters men need to fret over before packing and heading out for some R and R:

Everyone has a Cameo in Bonnie McKee’s Video for ‘American Girl’
26 jun 2013 22:35
If you don’t know Bonnie McKee, it’s probably because you’re not famous. Because, seriously, it seems like she knows everyone who’s anyone in Hollywood. In fact, she knows them all so well, she was able to get them to appear in the video for her recent release ‘American Girl’ — which we can pretty much guarantee will be stuck in your head ‘Call Me Maybe’-style for the rest of the summer. It helps that McKee is a songwriter, and a successful one at that, so she’s worked with a lot of these people before. This is the woman who gave us Taio Cruz’ ‘Dynamite,’ Katy Perry’s ‘California Gurls’ and ‘Teenage Dream,’ and Britney Spears’ ‘Hold It Against Me’ — among many other pop hits that tend to take up residency on the looping playlist in your brain. So maybe it’s not surprising that Perry, Adam Lambert, Macklemore, Jason Derulo, Tommy Lee, everyone from ‘Fashion Police,’ KISS, Kathy Griffin, George Takei and a ton more stars were all willing to play along and be in her vid. Check out the clip above and see if you can spot them all (bonus points if you can pick out Tommy Lee).
