A brilliant photo shoot by Stockholm-based photographer Christian Åslund, pays homage to 2D platform video games. Christian gave the series of photos a 2D effect by taking aerial shots of various streets in Hong Kong while, at the same time, displayed a model laying flat on the ground in different active poses. The photos were created as part of an ad campaign for the shoe brand Jim Rickey.

Snake wine and Scorpion wine are asian beverages that can be found in some Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, Laos Cambodia, but also in Korea, and Japan. Many types of snake drinks can be found all across Asia, but the most famous one and the only original one is the one found in Vietnam, Thailand, and Laos.

To prepare this strange beverage, a cobra snake or some scorpions are put into a bottle fulfilled with transparent rice wine liquor and some herbs are added before the drink is left to ferment for months. The venomous cobra snake used to make Snake wine is preserved to have the snake poison dissolved in the rice wine, but because snake venoms are protein-based they are inactivated by the denaturing effects of ethanol, and no more dangerous, but this makes a healthy liquor with many health benefits.

 

Indonesia is one of the world’s most geologically active countries. Given its combination of active volcanism and tropical climate, it is home to several volcanoes which exemplify the type of dynamic interactions between the forces of the endosphere and exosphere that are characteristic of volcanic lake environments. Of all the volcanos in Indonesia, Keli Mutu on the island of Flores appears to have the most exotic lakes. In fact, its lakes are so brightly colored that they are featured on the 5,000 rupiah bill and thought of as a national treasure by the people of Indonesia.

Some people have a tendency to mess with their possessions such as animals, cars, cellphones, TV's, houses, clothes etc. when they have spare time. What's going on behind something like this?

“Pont de Singe” by French artist Olivier Grossetête is a bridge that is suspended by three large helium-filled balloons. The ultralight bridge is not functional but is a sculptural installation from the 2012 Tatton Park Biennial in the UK.

Though this might be useful for someone like Mr. Bean when he played a spy in that early 2000s flick, this idea is simply weird.
