Beautiful Surreal Paintings of Daydreaming Maidens

Seattle-based artist Kari-Lise Alexander, who simply goes by Kari-Lise, paints surreal portraits of females enveloped by nature. Inspired by her Scandinavian heritage, the painter focuses her art around themes of Norwegian folklore. She explains, "Innocent maidens float in worlds of their own making, oftentimes losing themselves in their daydreams."

Miss Teen USA Sex Tape Scandal!

Miss Delaware Teen USA, Melissa King, has resigned her title and crown after allegations of her being featured in a pornographic video. Some comments on a porn website have identified her as the female from the video, however King strongly denies these comments.

In the comments in the video, a woman who strongly resembles King says she just turned 18 three months ago, which matches up with King's birthday. The women also states that she has done beauty pageants before, thought this would be fun and needed the money.

Miss Teen USA pageant is owned by Donald Trump as part of the Miss Universe organization and has had a number of sex tape scandals, including Carrie Prejean, Miss California 2009, and Anya Ayoung-Chee.

23-Year-Old Man Finally Learns Who Luke Skywalker’s Father Is

“Luke, I am your father,” is perhaps one of the most famous lines ever in cinematic history. It has been said by nearly anyone with the ability to speak — except for 23-year-old Carlos, who had no clue that Skywalker’s old man was Darth Vadar. Thankfully, when his friends discovered this they decided to make an event of it. His reaction, which is definitely NSFW, is rather priceless. And while it wasn’t ours when we first watched the film at the age of 10, we think his is a bit more entertaining. Okay, so Carlos isn’t a ‘Star Wars‘ nerd. At least he’s up to par now. We can only imagine how absurdly difficult it was trying to keep people from spoiling the film’s twist all these years. And Carlos, we hate to break it to you, but Princess Leia is Luke’s sister. Yep, it’s true.

Wat Rong Khun: A Buddhist Temple Inspired by Sci-Fi Movies

Wat Rong Khun, more well-known among foreigners as the White Temple, is an unconventional Buddhist temple in Chiang Rai, Thailand. Designed in 1997 by noted Thai painter-turned-architect Chalermchai Kositpipat, this magnificent temple is a bizarre blend of traditional Thai architecture and the surreal. The main building is painted white to symbolise Buddha’s purity, and is covered in mosaics of mirrors, sparkling in the sun. All around the complex are intricate sculptures of demons, skulls, severed heads handing from trees and other bizarre objects.

Sexy Illustrations of Starlets Wielding Dangerous Weapons

Slaughterhouse Starlets is an illustrated series by designer Keith P. Rein. The illustrator's set of images, of which there are only six so far, feature a violent version of some of today's leading ladies; including Emma Stone, Zooey Deschanel and Emma Watson. Each femme fatale is equipped with a different deadly weapon and it looks like they've already taken the liberty of using them as each frame appears to be splattered with bloodstains. From wielding a hatchet and toting a battle axe to revving up a chainsaw and getting hands on with a pair of brass knuckles, these ladies are prepared for a zombie apocalypse and ready to fend for themselves.

What 200 Calories Look Like in Different Foods

WiseGEEK conducted a very visual and informative study and presented a photo series, which compares what 200 calories actually look like in different foods. You’d think that even with the bikini season coming up, a handful of gummy bears couldn’t hurt much, right..? Well, turns out, just 51 gram of those gives you the same amount of calories as nearly 600 grams of broccoli or 3 whole eggs would. And now be honest – which of those amounts sounds more alike a proper and filling meal to you? The study compares 71 different foods, and is originally organized going from low to high calorie density. You can really tell how the quantities are getting smaller towards the end of the list! Statistically an average adult needs 2000-2500 calories a day, but this, of course, differs depending on how physically active you are. So for those who don’t hesitate to sweat in the gym, a spoonful of peanut butter is a lot less of a sin!
