“What happens to lovers while they are sleeping?” photographer Paul Schneggenburger asked as he began his project “The sleep of the beloved.” Using the second room of his two-bedroom Vienna apartment as a studio, he set up black sheets on a mattress, lit by a string of Christmas tree lights. A self-constructed trigger outside the room started the 4×5 camera at midnight for each six-hour exposure and turned it off automatically at 6 a.m., before the sun rose. Schneggenburger, of course, was not in the room during the exposures.

Rouslan Toumaniantz is a well known Belgium-based tattoo artist. He met a girl named Lesya, a designer living in Saransk, Russia, on Internet. They fall in love, and about a week ago they met in person in Moscow and decided to get married. Lesya got a facial tattoo with the name Rouslan, that looks more like a MS-13 gang tattoo. What will she do if they would decide to break up?

Romana Lefevre has paired up with photographer Daniel Castro, to create a book called ‘Rude Hand Gestures of the World‘ – which we dare say, is probably a must have for any bold traveller out there.
