If Humans Crossed the Street Like Animals
18 apr 2013 11:52

Everyone has been in that moment when your driving down the street and a deer, squirrel or dog crosses your path. The reactions by these animals differ and can be kind of funny. Have you ever wondered what it would look like if humans crossed the street like animals did? Well it would look something like this.

Singapore's Changi Airport is a major hub for international transport, with more than 135,000 passengers passing through every day. One guy took photos of the airport and explained why no one mind to wait for their flights there. The airport is an architectural marvel. The newest terminal, Terminal 3, was designed by CPG Consultants, in collaboration with Woodhead, Tierra Design and SOM, Bartenbach LichtLabor and Hugh Dutton & Associates

The Stupidest Justin Bieber Tweets That Got At Least 50,000 Retweets
17 apr 2013 13:15
Justin Bieber launched himself back into the news this week by writing something totally idiotic in Anne Frank's guestbook. No one should be surprised. The Biebs fills his Twitter timeline with some of the most inane chatter on the web. The only thing stupider than his tweets is the number of re-tweets his fans give him. Whether those fans are actual people or just bots is up for debate, but one thing is for sure: if these people are real, they are a bunch of morons. Below is a sampling of just a handful of totally meaningless Tweets that each garnered at least 50,000 re-tweets. It's all the proof you need that Beliebers are unbeliebably stupid.

Reid Scott from ‘Veep’ Makes Our Hearts Beep
17 apr 2013 12:00
‘Veep’ premiered its second season on HBO this past Sunday (April 14), and it remains probably the best show you aren’t watching — it’s funny, it’s smart, and it stars the very handsome Reid Scott. So what are you waiting for? When you watch ‘Veep’ and your vision finally clears and you can see through all the tears induced from laughing so hard it hurts, you’ll notice this tasty morsel: Reid Scott, the guy who plays Dan Egan on the show, an adviser to Julia Louis Dreyfuss’ Vice President Selina Meyer. The show follows VP Selina as she tries — and fails — to be a more substantial entity in the White House, scurrying to avoid and clean up bad press about her and her politics. She has a crew that includes Scott’s Dan Egan, Anna Chlumsky’s Amy, Tony Hale from ‘Arrested Development,’ and comic veteran Matt Walsh. The show is fantastic and there’s still plenty of time to get caught up and check it out in its second season. And if the synopsis and amazing cast don’t sell you, maybe Reid Scott will. The tall, dark, and handsome (TDH is the holy grail, ladies) actor has also starred on other TV shows like ‘My Boys,’ ‘The Big C,’ and ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager,’ so chances are you — like me — have seen him around and not realized it until now.

Pamela Anderson Has Had One Hell of a Makeunder
17 apr 2013 11:23
Pamela Anderson was turning heads for a much different reason than usual at an April 15 event for the Obliphica Professional hair care line, showing up in minimal makeup, an elegant updo, and a high-necked black sheath dress with nary a boob showing. The 45-year-old, who has two children with rocker Tommy Lee, said she felt it was “time” for a change from her typical sexy attire. “You know, you grow up and you change your look. I feel different from how I did in my Playboy days,” she told Buzzfeed. “Now, I think I’m in charge of toning down my look or not. I feel like as I’m getting older, this is my version of toned down.” Oddly, when the woman who’s been on the cover of Playboy more than anyone else in history was asked about being beautiful, she said, “Oh, god, I don’t know if I ever really felt beautiful. I always feel like I don’t — I don’t, really.” Still, she’s a lifelong fan of glamour, and talked about fighting for it during her days on ‘Baywatch.’ “Sometimes my [false] eyelashes would roll up onto the beach and that’s all that would be left of me,” she laughed. “But I was determined to be glamorous. Oh, I loved it, I LOVED it. I thought, ‘If you’re going to be on TV, and if you’re gonna be out and glamorous, the natural look can stay at home. If we’re gonna do this, let’s have fun with it!” Those sentiments aren’t really surprising when you know who she listed as beauty and fashion role models: Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot, Ursula Andress, Raquel Welch, Marilyn Monroe and Dita Von Teese. Sounds like she has her head in the right place — and it’s a welcome change. She looks amazing.

Discarded Lottery Tickets Turned Into Extravagant Items
17 apr 2013 11:13
There are millions a stake, but ultimately millions upon millions never win – that’s the reality of playing the lottery. In fact, it has been said that playing the lottery is for people who are bad at mathematics, your chances of winning are no greater than 1 in 176,000,000. In fact, you have more likelihood of getting being killed by vending machine (1 in 122 million) than getting your hands on all that cash. Still there here is always hope right? And hey, someone, somewhere has to win! When some incredibly lucky individual does win lotto, you often here tales of ridiculously extravagant purchases and luxury items bought with reckless abandon. That was the inspiration behind ‘Ghosts Of A Dream’ (GhostofaDream.com) by visual artists Adam Eckstrom and Lauren Was. Together they tried to imagine an outrageously expensive vehicle a wealthy individual might buy and then add their own spin to it. Choosing the Hummer H3, they amusingly pulled together $39,000 worth of losing lottery tickets (the cost of the Hummer itself) and used those discarded tickets to cover it.

Now You Can Make Insects Fly From Your iPhone
17 apr 2013 11:12
Now depending on how old you are, as a kid you might have had a kite, driven remote-controlled toy truck into the feet of countless family members or been creative and bored enough in class to make paper aeroplanes. Our curiosity and fascinating with objects that we can manoeuvre at will probably comes from our own frustrations and physical limitations. After all, who hasn’t wanted to fly or float around in space? We can’t all be astronauts sadly, so that’s why we often find ourselves settling for the next best thing – a car, a boat, a plane or something which we can dictate the direction and freedom of. But now things are about to get interesting, feel free to put that remote-controlled car in the garage indefinitely. As of today, you can control your own personal insect and have it crawling around doing your bidding at will. Don’t worry, they’re not real insects, just clever little devices that sync with / and that you can control with your iPhone.

Astonishing Hyper-Realistic Scenes Made With LEGO
17 apr 2013 11:10
It’s rare that a collaboration can produce such magnificent results as this. Nathan Sawaya (known to many as ‘The Brick Artist’ these days) is the ingenious sculpture behind some of the most impressive LEGO works you’re ever likely to see. He paired up with the award-winning Australia photographer Dean West to collaborate on the startling exhibition In Pieces. It was a project that spanned many years, but their hard work, dedication and sheer patience as produced some astounding visuals. Together they conceptualise the story and West then dramatically photographs the scene. The twist comes when Sawaya mischievously inserts his hand-made LEGO sculptures ‘somewhere’ into the photograph itself. The duo traveled around America shooting scenes in a variety of locations from Nevada to Utah, from New York to California. The net effect is a blend of hyper-realism, sheer elegance and sudden surprise. http://deanwest.com/ http://brickartist.com/

yawning animals
17 apr 2013 10:40

As you might’ve already experienced yourself (and if not – do try it with someone!) – yawing is medically proved to be contagious. If you hear or see someone yawn, chances are that within seconds you’ll catch yourself doing the same. Some say that the only mammals on Earth that don’t yawn are the giraffes (which, of course, you could also try challenging by testing it in a zoo. Let us know how it goes). If you’re having a hard time falling asleep, you can always use this post for therapeutic purposes. Besides it being an animal post, which already soothes the heart, it is bound to have you start yawning yourself. And once you do, you’ll notice that all of a sudden you got way sleepier… So let’s do a little experiment – scroll down the list and try not to yawn!

When Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber Swap Faces = Pretty Cute Couple

We think Taylor Bieber (we think that’s the one with Bieber’s face, but we’re not sure — it’s very confusing) looks a liiiitle bit like Hayley Mills or a young Jodie Sweetin from ‘Full House.’ And Taylor Swift looks a lot less like she’s going to write a bunch of songs about her exes.

Amanda Bynes Goes Full Crazy In Twitter Video

The clip, entitled “I’m Sucking On A Sour Patch Kid Listening To Music Getting Ready For Tonight,” shows Bynes making pouty faces with her terrifyingly puffed-up lips in front of a mirror while awful wub-wub music plays. Is she trolling? Perhaps. Or maybe: she’s a huge Dalia from Suburgatory fan, and this is all some Joaquin Phoenix in I’m Still Here-style stunt. That’s the most likely of scenarios. Or maybe she’s just nuts.

5 Movie Characters That Were Blatant Rip-Offs
15 apr 2013 23:50
We all know of films that were total rip-offs from start to finish, but what about when filmmakers get a little more creative and try to hide their plagiarism a little more cleverly? These films, though widely regarded as cinematic classics, are less-known for their blatant pilfering from other works. Though some of the filmmakers have admitted their “influence”, what’s clear in each instance is that the character (and often more than that) has been shamelessly ripped off, while the majority of the film-going audience are none the wiser. Granted, in most instances the stolen character was put to far better use in the latter project, but it’s still a pretty cheeky way to operate. Here are 10 movie characters that were blatant rip-offs…

Jimmy Kimmel Made Tom Cruise Prove His Worth as a Movie Star
15 apr 2013 11:48
Tom Cruise stopped by ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ on Thursday to promote his upcoming sci-fi flick ‘Oblivion.’ But it wasn’t all fun and games — while he was there, Jimmy made him prove his acting prowess. Kimmel dimmed the lights and played some dramatic music as Cruise brought out his intense face and said lines like, “What’s your return policy on this panini maker?” and “Is there a way to get the soup and the salad?” But he did draw a line at, “April in accounting wants you to update your W-2s.” A few times Cruise said that he could do better, and reminded everyone he gets multiple takes while shooting a blockbuster. But overall he did pretty well, only cracking up with the panini maker line. He was probably just relieved he wasn’t asked about that divorce everyone but him saw coming a mile away. Oh — and if you look carefully around the three minute mark? You can actually see some thetans escaping from his left ear. Nah, just kidding. =]

Albert Khan 2013
14 apr 2013 16:54

Here’s a fascinating trip down the corridors of history, thanks for French-Jewish entrepreneur Albert Khan. He wanted to collect the biggest photographic record of the world, it’s evolution and history – an ambitious project to be sure. But over the years he successfully amassed a staggering 180K meters of black and white film. But even more impressively, was his unique collection of 72,000 autochrome plates. At the time, those plates were a key tool in the industrial process of manufacturing colour photography. 1907 saw the creation of ‘Autochrome’ an invention of the Lumière brothers, a complex process which essentially made colour photographs possible. A true overnight revolution as it were that gave photographs an entirely new dimension. Interesting enough all colours and be recreated from 3 primary colours and it was these that they based their process around. So thanks to the ingenuity of the Lumière brothers and Kahn’s tireless dedication, we’re able to look back on these images of our past with vivid and rich detail. Below is a mere sample of the ‘Archive of the Planet’ but you can see more via Albert Khan’s personal site. http://www.albertkahn.co.uk/
