In case you missed the Comic-Con last weekend here's a list of kinds of people you are most likely to see at nerdy events, brought to you by Dorkly.
Bill Hader dropped by Conan last night ostensibly to promote The To-Do List and the many other projects he has his fingers in (like writing full-time for freaking South Park), but instead spent almost his entire visit talking about a Tumblr dedicated to how poor his clothing choices are and doing an impression of his wife that is essentially him doing an impression of his wife doing an impression of Girl You Wish You Hadn’t Started a Conversation With At a Party. I’m sure Mrs. Hader was none too pleased, but oh man it is ludicrous and great. I take way too much pleasure in other people haphazardly making fun of their significant others in what is sure to be an act of self-destruction. Oh yeah, Bill also always wears the same shirt to everything apparently, as evidenced by the image above. No regard for wardrobe or wife retaliation? Bill Hader gets all the respect.
Pacific Rim may have finished third at the box office this weekend, but that doesn't mean we can't continue to enjoy the silly names of the giant robots (Jaegers) in the film. With names like Gipsy Danger, Striker Eureka, and Crimson Typhoon, these robots would be right at home in Key & Peele's "East/West College Bowl" sketch.
To promote Pacific Rim, the Warner Brothers website has a Jaeger designer app which lets you create your own giant robot design, name it, and stick it in a poster. But could fans come up with names as unique as the film’s robots Gipsy Danger, Striker Eureka, and Crimson Typhoon? Oh yes. Kris Straub (via Angelophile) came up with the picture above, the perfect use of a promotion like this. Straub’s other designs were just as magnificent:
Toy biz is tough, and companies have to come up with new and creative ways to sell their characters in an ever competing market. Some succeed with an awesome line of action figures, and other just totally fail. Here's a collection of weirdest action figures ever made. What the hell were they thinking?
Okay it's no secret that Miley Cyrus is currently going through a crazy stage. Her new hit video "We Can't Stop" is the top summer song of this year, but if you turn off the music you might change your opinion. The guys at CollegeHumor made this hilarious and quite disturbing video that makes you wonder what the hell is going on in her head?!
Laughter is everywhere, just open your eyes and enjoy. Tickle your funny bone with these unique, ridiculous and hilarious pictures!
People on the Internet never cease to amaze me with the way they dig random things up and catch people doing the craziest, most bizarre stuff. Yesterday, some folks at 4Chan somehow tapped into the unsecured security webcams that are allegedly in the kitchen of Jersey Joe’s Pizzeria in San Diego, and they caught the gentleman in the above image whackin’ it. Naturally, once the image went viral, people absolutely had a field day with Jersey Joe’s Yelp page, which obviously has the restaurant’s owner, Giusepp Scire, rather pissed off since, you know, he denies that the kitchen is even the same as the one in his restaurant.
It’s really hard to say “I’m sorry” especially when you’re not really sorry. But, as humans, we suck it up and express our regret just to move on with life. Here are perfect examples of a person saying “I’m sorry” but not really meaning it…at all.
In 2008, when he was still searching for something that rhymes with “Alec Baldwin,” Kanye West filmed a pilot for HBO. Writer Larry Charles, who dresses down as Rick Rubin for Hollywood and occasionally directs movies like Borat and wrote for something called Seinfeld, explained to Coming Soon that it was Ye’s version of Curb Your Enthusiasm, which Charles also writes for. “It was really good,” he said, back in 2008, “but I think it was too hardcore for HBO. Also…HBO doesn’t have a good track record when it comes to black shows, and I felt like that may have had something to do with it also.” This was before The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency changed the TV landscape. Anyway, the show never made it to air, but footage has leaked online, in the form of an acting reel uploaded by actress Alison Quinn. It’s been on YouTube since 2008, but has only recently gone viral, thanks in no small part to Jay-Z Google’ing then tweeting “how come kanye gets to act in anchorman 2 and i don’t,” probably.
By now it's no secret that Aziz Ansari is a huge fan of hip-hop, and that he's friends with guys like Jay-Z and Kanye West, even making a cameo in the video for "Otis" off of their Watch the Throne collaboration. So I guess it was only a matter of time before some bored Photoshop wizard killed a few hours of his life doing this: Photoshopping Aziz's face into a number of iconic and popular rap album covers. On the pages that follow are a few of my favorites. I think the Nicki Minaj one tickles me the most for the sheer ridiculousness of it. Aziz as Drake comes in a close second. Enjoy.
