Interview: Artist Gives Discarded Household Objects New Life with Cross-Stitch Coverings

From vintage typewriters to old sewing machines, many household objects of the past have their own unique charm that makes them irresistible to antique collectors. Sweden-based artist Ulla Stina-Wikander is one of many vintage aficionados, but she doesn’t just collect old items—she turns them into art. The talented artist gives outdated technology, furniture, and tools a new lease on life by covering them with colorful cross-stitch embroidery designs.

I Recreated Every Marvel Poster With Regular Objects

My name Nguyen Quang Huy (Coi Xuong) and I'm an artist from Vietnam. 4 years ago, I created a series of doodles with Marvel Cinematic Universe theme from everyday objects and posted it. I was really honored that my recreation received such positive feedback then. This year in order to commemorate the release of MCU's Phase III last movie, I started a small project to recreate every MCU's poster from 2008 till 'Endgame' in the same drawing style

Artist Turns Everyday Objects Into Spaceship Designs, And The Result Is Out Of This World

Software engineer & artist Eric Geusz’s work is proof that inspiration is everywhere around us. For quite some time now, Eric has been transforming common household objects into spectacular spaceship designs, and they’re completely out of this world. From a can opener to a game controller, everything can be a rocket in Eric’s mind.

I Reimagined Ordinary Kitchen Tools As Star Wars Characters

My name is Kristián Mensa and I am a 20-year-old artist from Prague. I love to play with simple and everyday objects just to prove that inspiration is all around us. While I was waiting for a water to boil I've decided to go through my kitchen tools and turn them into some of the Star Wars characters (but shh... I've never seen the movie though).

I Turn Everyday Objects Into Surreal Miniature Worlds

I've spent 2 years to create this project called "Tiny Wasteland". The series features miniature figures placed next to everyday objects so as to create the illusion of microscopic worlds. As a food photographer, I mostly make these on food or with food.

We are Manik & Ratan, twin brothers based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. We both are cartoonist, animators and also designers. We post our everyday doodles on Instagram profile. Once we posted a cartoon dragon. Somehow that dragon looked so adorable that we thought, what if it interacted with the pencil. So we drew the dragon which was poked by a pencil. It was so much fun seeing that dragon was annoyed. Later, we tried it to interact with other daily objects like stapler, cell phone or Lego. We...
