Freezing Temperatures And Strong Winds Turned Balaton Lake Into A Winter Wonderland

I would like to show you my recent photos of Fonyód-Alsóbélatelep beach at Lake Balaton in Hungary. The beach is ice-frozen. The strong wind and the cold icicles caused by the cold embrace the shore, offering a spectacular view for spectators. Apart from looking like a winter wonderland made of crystal glass, Lake Balaton is considered to be the largest lake in central Europe.

Moscow City Looked Like A Fairytale During Orthodox Christmas

The winter in Moscow might be bitterly cold but it’s also be magical – especially if you see it through the eyes of photographer Kristina Makeeva. She was able to capture the city as if it were a winter wonderland. Her photo show locations such as the Red Square and the Kremlin, both blanketed in snow and bathed in colourful lights, with people milling about. It’s as if you were looking at images straight out of a fairytale!

Do you like fairy tales the way Marina does? When that Old Winter knocked on her door, came into her life giving her pencil and ink and then just sat beside whispering her fairy tales to Marina's ear she was stunned first but then there was nothing she could do but to draw her stories down.

If you think that winter has already come to your city, pictures from Oymyakon, the coldest village on Earth, might change your mind. With the lowest temperature of -67.7°C (-90°F), recorded in 1933, and the average for January being -50°C (-60°F), this village is the coldest permanently inhabited place on this planet. New Zealand-based photographer Amos Chapple decided to go on a two-day journey from Yakutsk, the coldest major city on Earth, to capture what everyday life is like in Oymyakon.

Knitting and crocheting are definitely not just your grandmother's hobbies anymore. These simple crafts can be used to create creative, fun and, most importantly, warm winter hats.

This Guy Converted His Old Van Into An Awesome Hobbit Home

Cud Eastbound's '77 Dodge Camper has seen a good deal of North America, but it's about to spend a winter doing something completely new. Luckily, the vintage van, who is fondly referred to as "Night Danger" by its owner, doesn't have to worry about navigating icy roads or starting its engine in the frigid morning air. No, all "Night Danger" has to do is keep Cud and his pup warm throughout an entire Yukon winter. While that's no easy task,...
