As we enter a new era of Star Trek, and fans begin to look back on how far the franchise has come, it's hard not to think of Galaxy Quest at the same time. While not a direct parody of Star Trek's content, Galaxy Quest is more a comedic expose of the dynamic that is rumored to have existed between the series' actors after it went off the air.

Creative Cannibalism Coming To A Kitchen Near You? | So Bad So Good
15 jan 2013 11:10

Get ready for the grotesque, thought-provoking & peculiar art of New York based visual artist Christine Chin. She’s the inventive mind behind “Sentient Kitchen”, a disturbing series of photographs and sculptures designed to examine the convergence between biology and technology. "I’ve taken inspiration from some of nature’s most ingenious engineering. What better way to dispense salt than through an organ that is highly developed to taste, and why not take advantage of the mammary gland’s unique relationship to milk? While it is the nature of the human ego to cast suspicion on a challenge to human intellect, Sentient Kitchen products offer a non-threatening environment to explore the benefits of smarter, more sensitive solutions to our daily dining needs." – Christine Chin

What people don't realize is that fame, whatever your worst experience in high school, when you were being bullied by those ten kids in high school, fame is that, but on a global scale, where you're being bullied by millions of people constantly."

Amber Alert in Philadelphia: Child Found Alone at 4:40am
15 jan 2013 12:19
5 year old Neilla Robinson was abducted from school by a woman claiming to be her mother. Fortunately, she was discovered at 4:40am the next day by a passerby at a local playground to whom little Neilla, dressed in only a t-shirt, said she had been "stolen." She is currently being checked out for traces of any sexual assault, but sources are saying that she seems to be alright. The girl was taken from her own school, William C. Bryant School, in west Philadelphia. Authorities have released a surveillance video showing a woman wearing a full-length, black Muslim garment, her face covered by a black veil, taking the girl out of the school. Apparently school policies were not followed, as the false mother picked up the child from her classroom, instead of waiting for her at the main office. So, is it the school's fault?

Something is wrong with this picture! Instead of celebrating with a drink or some other ratchet girl at the club who really just wants to get in and out of your pants, why don't we celebrate the beliefs that MLK Jr. actually fought for? Have a BBQ and think about the wonderful difference this man has made for you and your family, you community, and for this country as a whole.

The Mystery of Natalie Wood
15 jan 2013 13:18
43 year old actress Natalie Wood died on Nov. 29, 1981 during a party on a boat with her husband, actor Robert Wagner, and "Brainstorm" co-star Christopher Walken. Her body was found floating face down off the coast of California's Santa Catalina Island. It's not clear how or why she entered the water. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department reopened the investigation into Wood's death in fall 2011, stating that Wagner is not a suspect. Bruises were found on Wood's arms and legs plus a four-inch bruise on her right forearm, multiple one-inch fresh bruises on her left thigh, as well as fresh bruises and scratches to the backs of her legs. Aside from the bruising, Wood also had superficial abrasions on her left forehead, left eyebrow and the left upper cheek area. With these new findings, the coroners amended Wood's cause of death to "drowning and other undetermined factors," with the manner of death being changed to "undetermined." The original cause of death had been listed as "accident." So... could this have been about a fight? Was Chirstopher Walken involved? Perhaps it was about jealousy, or maybe a suicide?
