Space deprived college students and city dwellers will appreciate this desk that converts into a bed. The compact unit takes up little more space than a large desk would but it also houses a bed. The interesting thing that I like about this is that there is enough clearance with the bed down that you don’t have to remove anything from your desk. Now you can have your cake and eat it too.. I mean... sit in bed and do your homework...
This Sleeping Bag Sofa is designed by Stephanie Hornig. She calls it sleeping bag on legs, which is a bit creapy.
Anyway it's a sleeping bag that you can snuggle into at night and keep warm and at the day time you can enjoy it as a couch to relax on.
Perfect for camping or guest beds or even leaving rooms.

Moving to a new place can really suck... epsecially when you don't have a shower curtain yet! Thankfully, these cool twists to the same old IKEA shower curtain will not only fab up your John, but some are actually educational (the map one).
If you're like me, you're probably pretty sick of your desk chair by now. Most of them are made out of this awkward "breathable material" that really doesn't provide much warmth for the chilldy winter months. That's why you need the blanket chair! Best invention since sliced bread! Or since the roller chair?
I don't think there's one person who's never wondered looking at the night sky if we are the only life in this universe.
I can bet you there's so much life out there that no number of dirrectors and screenwriters can make enough movies about it. Even though the science is so advanced that we can send cameras thousands of light years away all we left for now is just keep on looking at the night sky and wonder, imagine and dream.
Find a dark spot as far as you can from the city light, stop your car engines and look up in the sky, you'll be able to see The Milky Way - Galaxy we call home.
Even though these billions of dollars could surely be useful in some other areas of our economy (no brainer ha) I think that's a good investment in science project since the human brain is still a mystery to us. Would be cool to know what they find out, hopefully it will help to cure some brain diseases so many people suffer from.
The-scientist.com reports:
'A large-scale effort to understand the human brain and build a comprehensive map of its activity is set to launch with the help of billions of dollars in federal funds. According to the New York Times, President Obama will outline the plan to fund the decade-long Brain Activity Map project in his federal budget proposal, which the White House is slated to release next month. Scientists involved in planning the project hope that it will have the same catalytic effect on brain research as the $3.8 billion Human Genome Project had on genetics, and that it will spur the development of new therapies for various brain diseases.
Harvard molecular biologist George Church, who is part of the planning team, told the Times that the scientists behind the initiative hope to get federal backing to the tune of more than $3 billion over ten years. Church also pointed out that the initiative, if successful, could provide an economic boost, echoing Obama’s message that every dollar invested into human genome mapping returned $140 to the US economy.'
A 23 year old Indian student was brutally gang raped on a moving bus on December 16, after which she went into cardiac arrest and needed stomach surgeries. This incident has sparked a wave of protests throughout India. Men and women alike are demanding fast tracking of rape trials across the country and strenghthening laws related to sex attacks. Many rape victims are bravely coming forward in the protests as well, despite the obvious risks. The outpouring of protests is a clash between traditional values and the new generation of young people (especially educated women) that is sure to last.

8 masked men stole an estimated 50 million worth of diamonds from a Swiss airplane at Brussels' International airport. The thiefs made a hole in the perimeter fence, drove up to the plane in two cars, flashed their weapons, took the loot and drove off through the same hole in the fence. Authorities are shocked, and could not explain how the area could be so vulnerable. “We abide by the most stringent rules,” said airport spokesman Jan Van Der Crujsse. The whole process took them three minutes. Talk about embarrasing.
A gas main explosion has set a huge fire at a Kansas City upscale shopping center. More than a dozen people are hurt and two have sufferend life threatening injuries. Officials don't know weather anyone has been killed in the explosion yet, or the exact cause of it. The blast which engulfed an entire block in fire is attributed to a motor vehicle striking the gas line, and triggering the explosion by a piece of heavy equipment disrupting the gas main.
Oh man I hope it's not the beginning of the WW3 or the actual end of the world.

"North Korea recently warned South Korea of a potential “final destruction” to the country via nuclear tests during a heated debate this morning.
North Korea has threatened South Korea with a solemn warning of “final destruction” this week, hinting the country may be willing to take new steps toward nuclear tests and in turn a future nuclear war, says the report.
"As the saying goes, a new-born puppy knows no fear of a tiger. South Korea's erratic behavior would only herald its final destruction," North Korean diplomat Jon Yong Ryong said during the debate."
On the 19th of February, 1473, a Polish renaissance mathematician was born who changed our entire astrological paradigm by proving that the earth actually revolves around the sun, and does not happen to be the center of the universe, or even our solar system. Today, on his 540th birthday, Google celebrates his life and discovery by displaying his Heliocentric model as the center of Google's universe. Copernicus was born in Poland, as the youngest of four children to a family of two merchants; his father being from Krakow and mother from Torun. He is considered a great polymath of the Renaissance, educated as a mathematician, astrologer, jurist with a doctorate in law, classic scholar, artist, translator, governor and economist. Before his death in 1543, he wrote a famous book which revolutionized science; 'De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestium'
