Cool, compact motor home for those who like to travel alone. The most interesting is that this house was reincarnated into a mini-yacht.
Interesting T-Shirt from China, packed in tight envelope. To put the thing on, it needs to soak in water, but after that it takes the original form.
After looking at all the magnificent detail in this sculpture by Shinichi Hara, I couldn't visually pinpoint what it was made from. Given the large white block from which it started from, I considered that "White Dream" was made of styrofoam. When I learned that it was made of marble, however, it almost seemed too obvious. I was a bit shocked at how the artist seemed to effortlessly carve out so much movement and fluidity into his masterpiece. Truly amazing!
With his project “100 Years Later“, the Japanese artist Maico Akiba transforms everyday objects into relics of the past… With meticulous aging process, Maico Akiba adds rust, moss, mold and traces of time to our gadgets, transforming our iPhones, keyboard and mouse, iPod, calculators, shoes, watches, mobile phones, Polaroid cameras and so on, in objects from another time… (but still functional!)
We already talked about several anatomical sculptures of American artist Freeny, who takes pleasure in dissecting the anatomy of the icons of pop culture, from Barbie to Mickey, via Toy Story, Mario, My Little Pony, the Rabbids, Nemo, LEGO minifigs, Hello Kitty, the famous art toys and so on… A really great concept. I love it!
Ghadames, known as the “pearl of the desert”, is an oasis town in the Nalut District of the Tripolitania region in southwestern Libya. It is one of the oldest pre-Saharan cities and an outstanding example of a traditional settlement. The town has a population of around 10,000, mainly Berbers, who live in tightly clustered traditional mud-brick-and-palm houses, packed together like a honeycomb. The houses have a typical vertical architecture - the ground floor is used to store supplies, then another floor for the family, and at the top, open-air terraces are reserved for the women. Rooftop walkways allow women to move freely, concealed from men’s view. Overhanging structures cover the alleys between houses creating an almost underground network of passageways.
While turning popular liquor bottles into baby bottles is nothing short of shocking, when it's done like this one can't help but silently laugh. Yes, it's all kinds of wrong and we definitely do not suggest that you run out and buy a pacifier to replace your bottle cap but we do ask that you sit back and enjoy this creative series by Italy-based Anna Utopia Giordano called POPBottles. Taking toy brands we all grew up with like Barbie, LEGO and Disney, she's created some spot-on packaging that looks incredibly realistic. (Not that we'll see these products on shelves anytime soon. God forbid.
We dare to try not to laugh as you look through these illustrations by Matthieu Barrère. Called "Aweful Drawings".
Long Island-based photographer Laina Briedis' seasonal images emanate a naturally Earthy beauty. A common tactic in her work is to isolate limbs or hide the subject's face within a frame and incorporate an element of nature (leaves or flowers) against an open backdrop. It's difficult to tell whether the female form or the natural environment is the main subject. It actually seems like they are both being featured as one in the same. Both are beautiful and, as indicated in one of the photographer's images, "there is beauty everywhere."

Maggi Hambling bring forth the energy and power of waves through her beautiful oil paintings. The sea has become an obsession for Hambling who starts each day with a ritual. "Early each morning I go down to the sea and try to capture its mood by drawing, and each day is different. Back in the studio, these drawings become paintings. Whether they are tiny or cover the studio wall, I try to make the movement of the waves happen in the paint."

It seems like a bird dropped the fish while flying over Long Island. This shark landed right in the middle of a parking lot...Pretty Strange.
32-year-old Lisa Kelly is probably the cutest truck driver in the world.
Photographic portraits of Bruno Metra and Laurence Jeanson, retouched just using tape and pieces of faces cut out of magazines. This strange analog, cheap and IRL Photoshop allows reflection on the shallowness of the laws of appearance in our society, hiding fragile personalities behind…
When Katelyn Norman, a brave 14-year-old girl from LaFollette, Tennessee who suffers from cancer, was deemed too ill to attend her prom, her friends decided to bring the festivities to her hospital bedside instead.

Josie, 22, had a $4,800 breast op funded by the taxpayer after telling her GP that being flat-chested was causing emotional distress. The Leeds telesales girl said: “My new boobs have changed my life, now I want to be the new Katie Price.” Despite earning just $9,000-a-year in telesales, Josie has made several trips from her Yorkshire home to get used to the celebrity lifestyle in London nightspots.
Australian model caught distracted during a photo shoot when the first plane hit tower 1. What an epic photo. It’s so weird to think that normal things were happening on 9/11. People were walking their dogs, riding their bikes, models were doing photoshoots… and the planes hit.
Holi is an incredibly colorful and dynamic religious festival celebrated to welcome the beginning of spring and to commemorate various Hindu legends. It's mainly celebrated in India and Nepal. It also occurs in some parts of Bangladesh, Pakistan, Malaysia, Guyana, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States and Fiji. People cover each other in colored powder and water, and have a good old time dancing, laughing and being crazy. It looks like a super fun rave party. I'm in! Here are the best photos of 2013, Holi celebration in India.
The former mathematician, ruthless bussinessman, Putin's foe, and Russias most famous oligarch, Boris Berezovsky, has been found dead at his Britain home. The circumstances are yet unknown, many say it was a suicide due to his deep depression and a lot of debt, after he lost a hefty sum of money in a legal battle with his former partner Abramovich, over shares in Russia's fourth biggest oil company in 2012. Others say it was heart failure due to his age (67), and then again he had quite a few enemies.
Seal flipper pie is a traditional Easter dish in the beautiful country of Newfoundland. The dish is said to have a gamy tasting dark meat similar to a hare ( our Easter mascot, how appropriate ). Newfoundlanders are known for their peculiar tastes in foods such as fried pork fat, cod tongues and fishcakes. But a seal flipper pie sounds a bit too extreme, not to mention cruel.
7000 people might have contracted HIV, hepatitis b or c from a dental office in Tulsa, Oklahoma. During an ongoing investigations the health department found many violations in Dr. W. Scott Harrington's office. His assistants had no licence and were allowed to do full IV sedations, which is a felony, and the major one was poor tool sterelization and separation, which is the main factor in this incident. I will never feel the same about going to the dentist! Wow
Sygmond The Grey has to be the most photogenic kitty in the world. His luscious grey fur, his graceful running, those piercing eyes make him irrisistable. Feast your eyes on this majestic animal!
It’s an age old saying “They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.” but what better example of that than the rise of “the cover song.” Artists have continued to reinterpret and breathe life and vibrancy into older songs previously written across different eras for different generations. It doesn’t always work, make no mistake there have been some truly horrendous covers (Alien Ant Farm we’re looking at you) but by and large cover songs give you that warm fuzzy predictability and familiarity – with a slightly different and novel twist. It’s also a major risk for any artist / band to take as they’ll always be compared critically to the original. Music wizards Sonos have created a cool infographic highlighting some of the best cover songs of all time and how other artists have fared in their attempts at covering them. But before we do, here’s Johnny Cash’s unique and emotional version Nine Inch Nails ‘Hurt’ – a cover which many regard as being even better than the original song.
Visionary photographer & graphic designer Tejal Patni has created a conceptual calendar for the fashion brand Splash (who are based in Dubai). With no expense spared, he was able to conjure up these incredible images which reflect his passion for those classic science fiction b-movies. But rest assured there is nothing remotely “b-grade” about his work. Prepare to lock yourself in for some visual eye-candy, that is literally……out of this world. Hmm. I wonder what he was thinking when he created this series.
Who knew words could be such fun? Logos shouldn’t ever be boring, with a little bit of creativity anyone can transform everyday words into memorable designs and concepts. Just look at the work of the talented Ji Lee, who has taken a collections of popular words and brought them to life by adding a sense of character, fun and playfulness to them. Ji has released a wonderful book titled “Word As Image” which showcases nearly 100 examples of his own personal witty designs, plus he’s provides some great insights and tips on how you can create your own.
Let’s face it most calendars these days usually center around bikini-clad babes, ultra expensive cars or cute pictures of puppies and kittens – there’s not a lot of originality or variation going on there. Which is why I especially love the Disney Pin-Up Calendar masterfully created by J. Scott Campbell. Combining elements from all the famous Disney masterpieces, Campbell adds his own unique vision to them and then tops them off by adding in his iconic and gorgeously illustrated Disney Princesses. His work, as you’re about to see is jaw-droppingly good.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of travel, is meeting new people and sharing stories. That’s precisely what travel photographer Adde Adesokan has done with his new (and ever-expanding) series titled ‘The Triptychs’. Why the name? It’s all based around the premise of “Meeting total strangers, get to know them and then take three personality-matching body shots and make them one.” It makes for an engaging range of images, breathing new life into the classic portrait photo as it were. The subjects come from all corners of the world, Hong Kong, London, Sapa, Berlin, Ho Chi Minh City as well as Paris. Along with including the location of each of his images, Adesokan has added a short yet revealing insight into stranger staring back at you. Enjoy!
Move over Lady Gaga, Madame Peripetie (aka Sylwana Zybura) has arrived. The German-based conceptual photographer is responsible for the absolutely extraordinary images you’re about to see. Blurring the lines between sculpture, fashion and the human form, she creates these surreal images – brimming with color, a hint of sci-fi and loaded with a sense of eccentricity & the absurd. She cites her main influences as being the new wave era of the 1980′s, the UK post-punk scene and the avantgarde work of Robert Wilson. Breathtaking and other-wordly we’re sure you’ll agree.
Now aside from being one of the most controversial dictators in modern times, cutting his entire nation off from the world, fabricating countless (and often hilarious) amounts of propaganda and threatening the world with nuclear fallout – more than anything else, Kim Jong-il loved a good party. Here’s a few candid shots of him dropping the bass with Daft Punk, David Guetta, Skrillex, Busy P, Tiesto, Moby, JUSTICE & more.
Remember that scene in The Terminator movies where Sarah Connor erriely declares “And then…..then the machines became self-aware and the fate of mankind was thrust into darkness as they waged war on us all.” Now don’t freak out, we still have a long way to get to that scenario! BUT in 2011 whilst the arrival of Siri for the iPhone could be seen as the first step towards this process even more impressive is the arrival of a robot called Qbo. Today was the first time he saw what he looked like in the mirror, below is his response and reaction. Robots becoming “self-aware” is now a reality.
