One Arab guy thinks that 55,000 coins look good on his car. You can be the judge! Do you like it or not? Interesting custom design. It sure is one flashy car.
Lindsay Lohan has yet another new mugshot. Here is a look at how all of her mugshots compare. Lindsay is one hot mess. She needs some serious help.
A smart family from Chicago used dog photobombs to make the photos of their apartment to look a little bit more interesting on Craiglist. Pretty inventive way to market your apartment. Craigslist might have a trend building after this.
Look at these photos of a freshly new born duckling. Cute or not? It seems to be smiling? It's so little!
Every year 30,000 people assemble in the streets of Bunyol, Spain to participate in the largest tomato fight in the world. The event is called La Tomatina. 125,000 kg of tomatoes are brought into the city via truck so ammunition is never short. 5 massive tomato-packed rockets are exploded in the air to commence the fight. There are only two rules:
1) You must squish each tomato before throwing it so that the force of the vegetable against you target’s head will not cause injury
2) Only tomatoes can be thrown

South Padre Island, Texas, is known as the trashiest Spring Break destination and encourages excessive drinking on the beach with bars charging as little as $9.50 per cocktail. Interestingly there are approximately 60 daily casualties as a result of drinking, drugs and accidents.
When it is your first birthday you are allowed to be as messy as you want. This is the only way to eat the cake. This is the right way to Eat Cake. At least one kid knows what hes doing.
The Simpsons' moments inspired by the historical photos. The Simpsons has been on the air for over 23 years now and has worked in a number of historical moments into their show. Take a look at these historical photos compared to Simpsons Cartoon Moments.
Interesting collection of important pictures and short stories behind them. These Historical photos all have incredible backgrounds. Take a look, you might learn something.
Amazing! Check out this very unique and interesting art project. In his ongoing street art series “The Living Wall,” Russian artist Nikita Nomerz brings life to decrepit buildings in Russia by painting faces on them. Nomerz travels extensively around Russia and makes an effort to paint a character in each place he visits.
In Messe Kopps’ very clever short video “Forward,” a guy goes on a walk in a bizarro backwards version of Jerusalem. The video was shot in one take, and the backwards effect was achieved by having the main character walk backwards, then reversing the video in post production.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I first saw this. Pears that look like chubby little Buddha-like babies have been spotted for sale in Chinese supermarkets, marketed as “happy/joyful doll pears.” To create these pear dolls, the fruit is molded into its humanoid shape during the growth process on the tree itself. Daily Mail reported last year that an entrepreneurial farmer named Hao Xianzhang has been developing the process for several years and hopes to sell them in the United Kingdom.
Gotta love Google for their innovations, yesterday Google announced that panoramic Street View imagery is now available for four of the world’s great mountains: Everest, Kilimanjaro, Aconcagua, and Mount Elbrus. The mountains are four of the Seven Summits—the highest mountains in each of the seven continents. Google employees captured the imagery on a series of mountaineering expeditions using a lightweight tripod and camera setup that is normally used in the company’s Business Photos program. As part of the expeditions they also captured beautiful panoramic imagery of the surrounding areas. Go explore!
Another amazingly clever art project. For his “Injections” series, artist Bradley Hart injects paint into bubble wrap to create photo realistic pictures. Hart works from photo references, using each bubble like a pixel, which gives images a curious pixilated look.
Easter is almost here! For those who celebrate here's a few great and funny Easter egg ideas to spice up your celebration. Choose from Super Mario Bros., Angry Birds, South Park, Super Heroes and more! Get inspired!
Photographer Troy Paiva took these spooky light-painted night photos of the Presidio Pet Cemetery in San Francisco back in 2011. Due to highway construction going on at the time, the cemetery was covered with a temporary roof, giving the site a claustrophobic, tunnel-like atmosphere. The Presidio Pet Cemetery dates back to the 1950s, when families at the Presidio army base began burying their pets at the site.
Cats. The Internet loves them, so it makes sense that pet food maker Purina would sponsor a cat-themed game jam called the Friskies "Games for Cats Hackathon." The event challenges game designers to create games or apps that cats can play with. The grand prize-winning design team will receive $15,000, while runners-up will be awarded $3,000 and $2,000 to take home.
“Lab” is a life-size model of a human skeleton and organs that was painstakingly crocheted by artist Shanell Papp. The Canadian artist spent 8 months crafting the sculpture by hand back in 2006. In the pursuit of realism, she used an actual human skeleton and anatomy textbooks as references. The sculpture even includes unseen details like bone marrow and half-digested food in the stomach. Um... kinda gross.
We’re officially adding Terry Border to our list of favorite artists. He takes everyday objects & literally bringing them to life with his humor and vision. When asked about his inspiration, he simply stated: “Basically, I get ideas for photographs when everyday objects remind me of something else. Then I try to think about how I can show others the connection I made. The next step – I try really hard to take it one step further – add humor, emotion of some kind, maybe an ‘aha’ moment. For example, with Mail Order Bride, I came up with the characters, but the little chair against the door really makes that shot for most people. Then again, sometimes an idea just pops into my head. That makes me happy.” Terry Border then – smart, funny, conceptual and unique. Don’t forget to tell us which is your fav!
This will make you feel warm and fuzzy. Brazilian footwear maker Melissa teamed up with 3M to create an wonderful exhibition at the opening of their São Paulo flagship store – Galeria Melissa. They took an amazing 350,000 colored Post-its, 30,000 of which had spontaneous messages of love written on them from the local community. The end result is heart-warming time-lapse video which itself took 5 months to finish.
French photographer and Harley-Davidson rider Sacha Goldberger decided to shoot a series of photographs dedicated to his fellow riders and passion. His aim, to show that being a Harley-Davidson owner isn’t merely a hobby – but a genuine lifestyle choice. You might be wondering why some of the photos feature the drivers shot from behind – that’s because their nicknames stitched onto the backs of their jackets. When it comes to Harley-Davidson’s, there’s a real community and tangible bond between owners, highlighted in Sacha’s brilliant portraits below
It will probably never happen, but it imagine….alcohol served in milk cartons. Well imagine no more, artist Jorn has done just that. Taking some of the world’s leading alcohol brands like Jack Daniel’s & Absolut Vodka, he’s reworked, redesigned and repackaged them as milk cartons. I find it strangely amusing, expecting to see “Dariy Farmers Low Fat Milk” and instead being presented with Jägermeister (and lets face it, it would certainly spark and interesting conversation around the breakfast room table.) Hats off to Jorn for successfully highlighting the importance of packaging and indeed design when it comes to branding and doing so in a fun and irreverent way. Would you drink your favorite alcoholic brands from a carton instead of a bottle or can? Let me guess, so long as it gets you drunk, it doesn’t matter right? Hahaha.
Hanna Maria Heidrich has created a beautiful, short story about humanity’s ever growing disconnect from the natural world. She’s a film student at Filmakademie Baden- Württemberg in Germany – one to watch for the future surely.
Who doesn’t like the odd bottle of wine every now and then right? Those clever kids at o5, have created a neat infographic to highlight which countries produce and consume the most wine. It makes for fascinating reading and visually we think it’s great. So for all you foodies and culinary pros out there – we hope you enjoy it!
We all know the Japanese can be more than a little kooky - but even this takes the cake. Before you watch this utterly surreal Japanese poodle workout video (which I guarantee will make you sit there and simply yell W.T.F repeatedly) we thought we should give you a little background to it. It was made by Nagi Noda for Panasonic (money well spent anyone?) and originally was part of 10 films they made for the 2004 Athens Olympics. Why did they make it? Why does it star poodles working out? Why did it make the Top 10? Who knows. In fact, truth be told, we can’t even tell if the poodles are CGI or actual PEOPLE wearing poodle outfits – that’s how odd this video is. In the end we gave up trying to understand it. If you’ve found a more random video out there, let us know – we’ve love to watching anything that could top this, we really would!
Emma Watson – the young girl, who grew up with the world watching and became a female icon loved by millions. Now that she has stepped out of the shadow of her role as Hermione Granger in Harry Potter, it’s unknown what the future holds for talented actress and fashion model. One thing you can be certain of, she’ll always be fondly remember for her part in the Harry Potter phenomenon. She portrayed character of the teen wizard Hermione with grace, a quiet resilience and dare we say more than a little magic.
He doesn't’t look happy does he. Still, tres fashionable. So what the hell is actually going on here? Turns out VICE have launched a new book Fashion Cats, which (yes you’ve guessed it) features the cutest cat outfits by Japanese cat fashion designer Takako Iwasa. Imagine how that conversation went down. “Hey Takako, what do you want to be when you grow up?” “Oh well Dad, I really really want to be a cat fashion designer.” Had that been my Dad, I would have been grounded until I decided to become a doctor.
This is pretty neat. Take the happy-go-lucky visuals of Donald Duck & sync them to an excellent uplifting ambient tune which could easily serve as the soundtrack to those long summer days and what do you have? “Go Duck Yourself”, a fun Donald Duck remix by Dusty Goodwin.
Based in New York, Lauren Peralta is a photographer and model without inhibitions. These beautiful images are testament to that fact – all of them are self portraits. She quite literally lets the photographs do the talking, simply stating “Photos of me, by me.” Two thumbs up from us! Great stuff.
Don’t let the photo fool you – this video is totally going to blow you away. Remember when you first saw Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” - the scene where he leaned forward at that impossible angle and you took your breath away? Well you’re on the right track, when it comes to the new video from Japanese group World Order (who are comprised of 7 dudes) and titled “We Are All” Basically, it’s the coolest thing you’ve about to watch on the internet all week. To dance the way they do, to have such flawless timing would take literally hours and hours and hours of rehearsals – but sheesh it’s worth it. The entire music video looks laden with special FX and time-lapse trickery – but the whole thing is done in real time, in the middle of every day life in Japan. It is quite simply…phenonmenal.
If you’re not familiar with the prolific Frank Zappa featured above, here’s a brief history lesson. In a career spanning more than 30 years, Zappa wrote rock, jazz, orchestral and musique concrète works, directed feature-length films, music videos and even designed album covers. Equally impressive, is that he produced almost all of the more than 60 albums he released with the band The Mothers of Invention and as a solo artist. But what I truly love about Frank Zappa, is that on September 19, 1985 he testified before the United States Senate Commerce, Technology, and Transportation committee, attacking the Parents Music Resource Center – a music organization co-founded by Tipper Gore, wife of then-senator Al Gore. The PMRC was founded to address the issue of song lyrics with!252?id=216340sexual or satanic content. Naughty naughty. Zappa (quite rightly) saw their activities as on a path towards censorship, and called their proposal for voluntary labeling of records with explicit content “extortion” of the music industry. Soon after he became the voice of anti-censorship & freedom of creative expression – which lead to his iconic appearance on “CNN’s Crossfire” show where he debated that music videos, songs and recordings about remain uncensored. I’ll let the man and his views speak for themselves in the footage from that show – but simply put, I agree 110% with him.
“That’s the wonderful thing about digital art – there are no limits” Those are the fine words of Sheridan Johns, an artist who hails from Melbourne, Australia. She’s the talented illustrator behind these jaw-dropping photo realistic portraits of some of our most loved characters in pop culture. “I started doing digital paintings since 2003 – just messing around with Photoshop 7. Art has always been a big part of my life. For many years it served as my outlet of creativity. From a simple sketch to a rendered portrait, I’ve always been able to discover a new technique when creating a piece of art. Back in 2005, I decided to take this style more seriously, looking into more details, depth and color with each piece. I pretty much taught myself!252?id=262220by studying other digital painters and their techniques and tutorials. It takes a lot of practice and research, but it’s well worth it in the end.” Amen to that.
Oh Kurt how we miss you. Thankfully, 2 CELLOS – the Croatian cello duo of Luka Šulić and Stjepan Hauser (they hit the YouTube jackpot with their cover of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal,” and later the Guns N Roses classic “Welcome To The Jungle.”) are keeping the Nirvana spirit alive with their fantastic cover of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” Extra points and an extended round of applause for the headbanging as well. Great stuff fellas!
World Record - 343 Hot Air Balloons Launched At Once, Photos By Gaston Batistini (4 photo + 1 video)
Admit it, you would have LOVED to have been there! On July 31st, 2011 a world record was attempted for the most hot air balloons taking off at once. The location? France’s Chambley-Bussieres Aerodrome and although the world record was not confirmed, the Lorraine Mondail Air Balloons international festival did smash it’s own record of 393 balloons taking off simultaneously back in 2009, with 343 balloons lifting off into the clouds this year!. According to the festival, “1032 drivers from forty-eight nations, 2672 crew members, 174 businesses and communities, 195 volunteers and nearly 400 journalists” were all involved in the event – that’s some serious numbers, but what a spectacle they’ve created. The wonderfully talented Gaston Batistini was there in the thick!25?id=2243820of it all capturing every breathtaking moment.
For those of you that don’t know, GoPro is range of cameras that are designed to withstand the toughest and harshest environments. Extreme skiers strap them to their bodies to shoot unbelievable footage as they leap off mountains whilst soldiers have used them on their helmets in Libya to broadcast the revolution unfolding before their eyes. Next in line is photographer Josh Maready, who bolted a GoPro onto his skateboard and took us for a ride through the streets of New York City. Strap yourself in, it’s one hell of a ride.
