The Rainbow Eucalyptus tree is the most colorful tree in the world. It looks almost like it's been spray painted, but the up to 70-m tall tree is colored this way completely naturally. Its bark can take on a yellow, green, orange and even purple shading. If you'd like to see this exotic tree you'd have to travel to Indonesia, Papua New Guinea or Philippines where the tree grows natively.

This beautiful insect is named Eucharitid wasp. They're specialized parasitoids and they prey on ants. Larvae of the Eucharitid wasp latch on to a passing ant and are carried to the ant nest. When they're there, they develop inside the nest feeding on ant food. They're found in tropical regions throughout the world. Such a punk - just wants to stay at someone's place for free and eat their food:)

Arkansas animal shelter Rocky Ridge Refuge recently took in a litter of Dachshund pups. Since the puppies were motherless, the workers at the refuge put the adorable little critters with Rocky Ridge’s resident Capybara, Named Cheesecake, a member of the world’s largest species of rodent. She seems to be taking care of them just fine…amazing

We love to watch animals. There’s face-painting and then there’s face-painting by the very talented New Zealand-based makeup artist Christy Lewis of Daizy Design. Christy began painting faces regularly for a ‘facepaint a day’ project at her then 4-year-old daughter’s school and it soon became her profession. Way to go Christy!

Penguins are the most interesting animals in my opinion, have you ever watched them walk around minding their own busyness? It's one of my favorite things to do in a Zoo, I can go on for hours spectating these adorable and very strange animals. “Faking It: Manipulated Photography before Photoshop” is an exhibition that takes a look at manipulated photography from the 1840s until the 1990s, when digital photo editing largely replaced manual techniques. The exhibition includes some 200 works, from quaint Victorian trick photography to misleading propaganda images.

"The urge to modify camera images is as old as photography itself—only the methods have changed. Nearly every type of manipulation we now associate with digital photography was also part of the medium’s pre-digital repertoire: smoothing away wrinkles, slimming waistlines, adding people to a scene (or removing them)—even fabricating events that never took place."

In the southeastern corner of Europe, the small country of Albania is covered by more than 700,000 bunkers—that’s 1 bunker for every 4 Albanians. The bunkers were built at enormous cost between 1967 and 1985 as part of the paranoid national defense strategy of the country’s longtime communist dictator, Enver Hoxha. Though the bunkers saturate the country from its beaches to its city streets, they were of little military value and were never used during Hoxha’s 40 year rule. Due to the cost and difficulty of removing the bunkers they still remain. They now serve as tourist attractions, homes, make-out spots, but mostly, they’re eyesores.

Oh Lindsay, Lindsay...Los Angeles (CNN) reported yesterday that Lindsay Lohan agreed to spend 90 days in a "locked in" drug rehab facility as part of a plea deal to settle criminal charges against her Monday.The actress entered pleas of no contest on two misdemeanor charges relating to a traffic accident last summer, and she did not challenge the finding that she violated her shoplifting probation with those convictions.Her six years of legal troubles trace back to two drunken driving arrests in 2007 and include other incidents in which she was behind the wheel. Someday you'll learn that being celebrity doesn't mean you can do whatever you want Lindsay baby, stay out of trouble!

Jason Molina, A Folksinger Who Embodied The Best Of The Blues, Has Died. Jason Molina, who died Saturday at 39, of what his label, Secretly Canadian, calls natural causes, wasn't a blues singer, exactly. In a prolific underground career spanning more than 15 years, his songs mostly took on the form of confessional folk music — a man and a guitar, or a man and a band, singing bruised and barren songs of longing and lost salvation like so many others before and since. RIP Jason.

This neighborhood got a complete makeover. The entire neighborhood was transformed into a giant street art project. This is super cool. What a fun neighborhood to be a part of.

One man’s trash, is another man’s treasure as they say. It’s an area where visionary sculpture Jeremy Mayer excels. He carefully pulls apart disused typewriters, transforming them into cyborgs, animals and human figures. You can hardly believe that those large, cumbersome and clunky machines, could be morphed into something so complex and delicate.  Don't you just love it when people sell something you'd never expect to be sold. These days it's not a surprise for anyone to see something like instructions for the first landing on the moon go out to the auction, everyone needs cash right?  Buzz Aldrin, the Apollo 11 astronaut is to sell the instruction sheets used during the first moon landing. The notes were part of Aldrin's own manual used while Armstrong piloted the Lunar Module Eagle towards the Moon in 1969. Also included in the sale is a second-by-second account by Aldrin of the fraught final minutes as the Module approached the surface of the moon.
