After 10 Years Of Photographing Homeless People, She Finds Her Father

Gingerina 12 aug 2015

14 photo

Diana Kim started to document the homeless in 2003

Diana Kim grew up on the Island of Maui where her father was a photographer, which is where she first learned her trade. When her parents split, Kim began to live with friends and relatives, and she lost touch with her father who became “absent.” In 2003 Kim began a long-term photo-project about the homeless; in 2012, she made a shocking discovery. Kim found her father among the homeless she was documenting in Honolulu.

20 People Doomed To Spend The Summer With Awkward Tans

The dedicated sun worshipers make it look easy. Nice, even tans, not too dark, and without harsh lines, are really the Holy Grail of summer. But avoiding strange tan lines, or lines in awkward places, shouldn't be too difficult, should it? It's not that hard to be aware of what you're wearing when you're out in the sun. It's not like it's a new phenomenon. But the sun is not forgiving. It caught these folks unaware, and look how they get to spend their summers.

20 People Who Completely Stopped Caring About Anything and Everything

When you are on your grind, or "just doin' you" as the kids say these days, you tend to just stop caring. Not caring what people think is pure bliss, you learn to laugh at yourself and enjoy every day for what it is. So if you're feeling up to it, take after these interesting people who just gave up on committing to social norms and just be you.

14 Times People Got Totally Burned

If you enjoy the summer and the beach then you already have to deal with scorching heat, a blazing sun and the awkward and always uncomfortable sunburns. Well, your friends are there to help you ... or are they? Sometimes, they show their love in interesting ways and leave you a little bit more awkward than before. Or maybe your burn was because a piece of clothing doesn't necessarily help during the summer. Or maybe you simply wanted to get a little bit creative.

You're not the jealous type right? wrong. Look, jealousy and envy are part of the human condition. But you've made it this far in life without winding up in jail via some jealous rage episode - or at least most of you have - so for the most part you've learned to keep it in line. But once in a while, it rears it's ugly head at the worst possible time - which is when you're on camera. Just like these folks:

Emanuel Wiemans works as an storyboard artist most of the time. As you probably know – working in advertising is a hectic job with lots of tight deadlines. But there are some of illustrations he did for himself. He mostly draw them in between his jobs. He just tries to capture someone he saw walking on the street or in a bar.

You have to admire those who can fix things on their own, but you don’t have to be one, and definitely shouldn’t try to if you’re not. It’s a complete waste of your time–oh, and really dangerous. There is one thing that D.I.Y. fails are good for though, a laugh. See if you can hear yours over the sounds of people cursing their self-made repairs in the distance.

Here Are 19 Times People Had The Best Teamwork

Being a “team player” in the workplace is a good idea, but it’s also one of those ideas or phrases that drive most people crazy. Teamwork can be the worst. Even in high school, working in a group was a terrible, torturous idea. That doesn’t get better as life goes on. However, if you can figure out a way to work well with others, the world will be a better place. Not only that, but you might just inspire people to do the very same thing. If you happen to be epic like the people below…

Last summer, a small bicycle accident left him with a 30% loss of the functions in his right hand because he didn't let go of the object he was holding when trying to catch himself during the fall. Separately, one of the artist's friends broke a leg when trying to save a smartphone from...
