Videos Of Craig Ferguson And Geoff Peterson On The Late Late Show
15 jul 2013 23:46

While hosts like Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon may be getting most of the attention on these here Internets, I'd argue that the most naturally funny late night host is Craig Ferguson. The Late Late Show doesn't have any nifty video packages or many meme-able moments; it's usually just Ferguson riffing in front of a camera and conducting great interviews with his guests, and it's great. One underrated aspect of the show is Ferguson's interaction with his robot skeleton sidekick, Geoff, voiced by Josh Robert Thompson. For those of you with regular sleeping hours, you may not be privy to Ferguson and Thompson's brilliance. So take a look at some of their best moments.

Controversial & Private Lives Of Superheroes Exposed
10 jul 2013 12:00

French illustrator Grégoire Guillemin has taken his love of superheros and added a bold new twist to the art form. Rather than showcasing them in the midst of battle or fusing supervillains with their modern-day equivalents or even perhaps incorporating them into historical artworks, he’s simply decided to reveal their intimate and private lives. His illustrative series titled ‘Secret Life of Heroes’literally pops out of the screen at you, not only because of his bold colour set but also because of the illustrations themselves… Batman and Robin get it on, Snow White kicks back with a cigarette, Wonder Woman seductively sucks on a banana and all whilst Catwoman indulges on some girl on girl action with Poison Ivy. It’s a vivid blast of colourful, sexy and irreverent fun – best of all, you can get your hands on these artworks (and many more) for under $30 via Greg’s Society6 page. Trust us, your walls will thank you for it.

20 Animals ‘Derping’ Out to Make You Feel Better
10 jul 2013 11:24

Have you got a case of The Tuesdays? You know, The Tuesdays — you’re not even halfway through the work week and already you’re dreading every day until Friday. You spent 15 minutes staring at your keyboard trying to remember the word “clairvoyant” before finally giving up and asking a high school friend on Facebook chat. You stared into the refrigerator for an unknown quantity of time before remembering that you actually got up to get something from the printer — The Tuesdays. These “derped” out animals will make you feel better. They won’t cure your case of the Tuesdays, but at least you aren’t a cat stuck in a hamster ball, amirite?

Cartoon Characters All Grown Up

Artist and Tumblr-er Celeste Pille imagines popular cartoon characters from the 90s as grown ups. Her illustrations cover Pepper Ann, all the Rugrats, Hey Arnold!, even the sudents from The Magic School Bus. Unfortunately, I didn’t see any Doug or Captain Planet, but I’m not one to complain. Actually I am one to complain, but never one to do anything about it. I’m basically all that’s wrong in the world!

Creative Celebrity Pizza Portraits by Domenico Crolla
09 jul 2013 12:30

Glasgow-based Italian chef Domenico Crolla both runs his restaurant Bella Napoli and creates celebrity pizza portraits. The restauranteur/artist uses nothing more than your basic pizza ingredients—dough as his canvas, tomato sauce and cheese to "paint" and play with negative space—to produce each of his well-crafted portraits. He puts his skilled hands to use to recreate the image of musicians, actors, and international fashion icons. Crolla's growing collection of portraits already feature classic icons like Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra as well as current pop stars like Rihanna and Beyoncé. Other well-known faces include fashion icons Anna Wintour, Tom Ford, and Karl Lagerfeld. Crolla has even thrown TV personality and chef Gordon Ramsey into the mix. The face that began the ongoing artistic adventure in the kitchen, though, is that of the late martial arts and action film superstar Bruce Lee. Following this pie, Crolla received a "thank you" note from Lee's daughter Shannon which encouraged him to pursue his artisan craft. He continues to do so today, especially after receiving countless messages of recognition and gratitude from many other celebrities.

Here's A Compilation Of Dogs Hanging Out Car Windows
08 jul 2013 17:19

Here is a compilation of dogs sticking their heads out car windows set to the song “Scatman (Ski-Ba-Bop-Ba-Dop-Bop)” by Scatman John. Why aren’t you watching it yet? What could I possibly be saying here that is more important than that? Nothing, that’s what. Stop reading these words and scroll down. Do it. Do it now. AHHHHH YOU’RE STILL READING. WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU? Here we are, on a post-holiday Monday, and I’m trying to show you a video that will make your day (if not your whole week), but you won’t you let me help you. This self-destructive streak has to stop. Are you still seeing Dr. Berkowitz? You were doing so much better when you were. No no, don’t leave. Stay. I’m sorry for prying. It’s just that your mother and I are worried. Promise me you’ll watch the video. That’s all I ask.

Ian Somerhalder
02 jul 2013 15:18

It’s easy to see how you might let Ian Somerhalder turn you into a vampire on the CW series ‘The Vampire Diaries’ — have you looked in his eyes? You could get lost in there for hours. It’s worse than IKEA. On ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ Ian Somerhalder plays Damon, a really sexy vampire with a really troubled past (don’t they all have troubled pasts?). He hangs out with other sexy vampire types and they do sexy vampire stuff, like sulk around in the dark in nice clothing. You may also recognize Somerhalder from his role on ‘Lost’ as Boone, or from the 2002 movie ‘The Rules of Attraction,’ in which he played the bisexual character Paul Denton, who had a crush on James Van Der Beek (but who doesn’t, really). When he’s not busy being a sexy vampire, Somerhalder is involved in various charitable efforts, like the Humane Society (aww) and the It Gets Better Project. He also set up the Ian Somerhalder Foundation, which helps bring attention to the importance of the environment and animals. And a bit of good news for all the single ladies out there — he’s a free man these days.

’90210′ Reunion at a Chippendales Show
02 jul 2013 15:00

Making good on their promise to see co-star Ian Ziering’s turn as a Chippendales dancer, Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth arrived in Las Vegas for a ‘Beverly Hills 90210′ reunion of awesome on Sunday (June 30). Also: shirtlessness. “Chippendales is a very interactive show and we managed to surprise them both by including them on stage in a few production numbers,” Ziering revealed to People. “I was very flattered by their comments. And judging by their reaction, I know they had a great time.” “We’ve always been very supportive of each others’ endeavors, and when they heard what I was up to, they wanted to come support. The fact that this new gig is Chippendales made it all the more easy to get them out to the Vegas,” Ziering added. We’re glad Doherty and Garth have put their long-standing feud behind them. As you’ll see in one of the photos below, they were even seatmates on the Vegas-bound plane. (Maybe Doherty finally realized that feuding and being sent packing from Aaron Spelling dramas is just in her DNA.) Check out more photos of the reunited (and it feels so good) castmates below, including at least one reason why Ziering’s turn with the all-male revue was extended through July 14.

8-Bit Video Game Characters In Real Life
02 jul 2013 12:07

After so many years, I can still vividly remember the day when I got my first gaming console NES. It was one of the happiest days of my life! For those who doesn’t know, NES is an 8-bit video game console that was released back in 1983 by Nintendo. And now, more than 15 years since its release, London-based artist Aled Lewis created a mash-up of video game characters and photographic scenes. “As a kid I would become completely immersed in there crude pixel environments and they would seem very real! I thought it would be fun to try to express how gamers see these worlds. I spent many hours gaming with my siblings and friends when I was growing up and this aesthetic has really come to represent that time,” says the artist. So, for every Nintendo fan it will be a big pleasure viewing these images and remembering those careless childhood days.

Lady Gaga in NYC Pride With a Speech on Her Lips & A Song in Her Heart
01 jul 2013 13:12

LGBT proponent Lady Gaga opened the 2013 Gay Pride Weekend in New York City with a tear-filled speech and her own special rendition of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner,’ pride flag in hand. (We can assure you there will be no claims of lip-syncing here.) A subdued looking Gaga took to the stage on Friday night (June 28) to tell the crowd about her experiences in high school as an outcast, saying, “There was a particular crowd who did accept me. There was a particular crowd who made room for me at their table, who held me up when I felt I couldn’t, who loved me for exactly who I was. It was you. ” “You saved me, my friends in the LGBT community, time and time again. And I saw God for the first real time in all of you.” She also discussed homophobic-related attacks in the city, telling the crowd, “We are not a niche. We are a part, a big giant part of humanity. It’s time for us to be mainstream. I demand the rights! To safe streets!” “As my LGBT friends and fans always said to me, ‘I knew Lady Gaga when…’ Well look who the star is now,” she said, pointing to the cheering crowd. “Now I get to say that I knew you when. Now I get to say I knew you when you suffered. When you felt unequal. When you felt there was nothing to look forward to.” “I knew you then. And I knew you when, but I really know you now.” After the speech, Gaga performed the National Anthem, changing the final line “and the home of the brave” to “and a home for the gays.” Watch her stunning rendition of that below.

Photographer Recreates Your Childhood Nightmares

Some of the most established childhood fears – the creepy boogieman hiding under the bed, a monster lurking beneath the staircase or some a malevolent clown masquerading as the harbinger of joy and fun have been around since the dawn of time. It’s these haunting tales that horror photographer Joshua Hoffine superbly brings to life. Demons pop out of floorboards, decaying parents and even werewolves all make an appearance amongst his devilish creations. "My images are not photoshop collages. I use photoshop to finesse details and to adjust color and contrast for printing. I use friends and family members as actors and crew. Everyone works for free. We do it for fun." You can stay up to date with his latest creepy works via his official site or befriend him on Facebook to get daily updates. Tiny Mechanical Insects Made of Watch Parts
28 jun 2013 11:18

Chicago-based artist Justin Gershenson-Gates, aka A Mechanical Mind, creates tiny steampunk insects by carefully soldering together gears, springs, and other watch parts. The mechanical bugs, many of which Gershenson-Gates can balance on just his pinky finger, are miniature, multi-legged creatures that each take the artist several hours to complete. Like a robotic army of creepy crawlers, the metallic mites invoke a sense of mechanical technology come to life. There's something altogether exciting, intriguing, and frightening about the collection that screams "science fiction horror film." You can hear their metallic little legs feverishly clicking as though they're scurrying across a room just by looking at them.

Adam Scott In The First Episode Of Comedy Central's 'Drunk History'
24 jun 2013 17:51

Comedy Central has put the first episode of Drunk History online over two weeks before its July 9 premiere, and if you ever wanted to see Adam Scott as John Wilkes Booth, Bob Odenkirk as Richard Nixon, Nathan Fielder as Robert Woodward, Jack Black as Elvis, and Dave Grohl as one of Elvis’s cronies, all lip-synching along to the wildly inebriated historical ramblings of comedians, then this is the show for you. Or, to put it more succinctly, this is probably the show for you. Anyway, the video isn’t embeddable so you have to watch it at the link up there in the first paragraph, which is a little infuriating, I guess. But on the bright side it does give me more space to post one of the original Funny or Die videos that this new show is based on, featuring Jen Kirkman drinking an absurd amount of wine and talking about Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglas, and slavery. If any of the segments on the TV show live up to this one, I’ll consider it a resounding success.
