Japan is wonderfully varied, peculiar and truly entertaining culture, it’s a place where nothing really has to make sense and where things rarely do. But they are probably best known for their eccentric & fascinating inventions. More often that not, they are completely  useless. Hera are some of them.

San Francisco-based couple Casey Grim and Adam McLaughlin, aka acoupleofn3rds, recently got engaged and decided to create a series of engagement photos commemorating their love in a hilariously creative way. With the help of their photographer friend Red Scott, the couple chose to stage a photo shoot where they match in both outfit and pose, resulting in some really fun images.

One of those joys of childhood was eating a popsicle and trying to figure out the riddle as you slurped down the delicious icy treat. Sometimes you would suffer a brain freeze (like I often did) just to get to the answer as quickly as possible. But maybe, if the answers weren’t so cute, you wouldn’t have attacked the treat so viciously. Scottish photographer George Logan and retoucher Tony Swinney let’s you imagine what it would be like if your cat wasn’t just a purring ball of fur. As a part of “Big Cat, Small Cat” ad campaign for Whiskas, they created a series of funny images showing tiny domestic cats chasing after antelopes, zebras, elephants and doing other “big cat” stuff.

As you might’ve already experienced yourself (and if not – do try it with someone!) – yawing is medically proved to be contagious. If you hear or see someone yawn, chances are that within seconds you’ll catch yourself doing the same. Some say that the only mammals on Earth that don’t yawn are the giraffes (which, of course, you could also try challenging by testing it in a zoo. Let us know how it goes). Athletes portraits are usually all the same generic photo. Usually they involve a player from the chest up staring directly into a camera with a half smile and not much else.
