Photographer ‘Shops His 1-year-old Daughter Into Crazy Situations
21 jun 2013 10:50
It looks like there’s a powerpuff girl growing up in Sweden! One-year-old Singlhild demonstrates capacities that are way beyond her years in the creative pictures, photoshoped by her dad Emil Nystrom. Swedish photographer makes his baby daughter fly after planes, fix his car and paint rooms. Interestingly, Singhild still couldn’t even crawl when most of the photos were taken, so her mom Isabelle would hold her up and be erased from the picture later. Emil has definitely earned his way into the creative dads’ club, alongside with Jason Lee and Dave Engledow!

'Assassin's Creed IV' Sneaks Out Some Gameplay Footage
20 jun 2013 15:31
Ubisoft’s latest round in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed IV: This Game Had Better Have Henry Rollins In It, has just offered up some new gameplay footage. And it looks good! The good news is that the game is obviously taking a few cues from Far Cry 3. The even better news is that the naval battles, easily the best thing about Assassin’s Creed III, are not only back, they’ve been overhauled for even more ship-destroying, crew-stabbing fun:

The New Anchorman 2 Trailer Has Arrived
20 jun 2013 15:30
Up until now, the only thing that we really knew about Anchorman 2 was that Will Ferrell and Co. were trying to cram every star under the sun into approximately 120 minutes of film time. But last night the brand spanking new trailer for the sequel to the 2004 comedy classic hit the cat tubes, and we finally have a much better idea of what this one is about. Basically, the News Team is picked to be the backbone of the world’s first 24-hour cable news network (Global News Network), Baxter drinks a soda, Ron talks about his hair, Ron gets Jungle Fever, Brick falls in love, James Marsden is really handsome, and Ron gets super racist at dinner with his new black girlfriend’s family. But you’re all adults with working eyeballs, so watch it yourself and stop making me describe everything.

New Drinking Buddies Trailer Stars Olivia Wilde As A Woman Torn
20 jun 2013 15:28
At some point, I’m hoping to build an educated opinion on Drinking Buddies that is significantly better than GEE, OLIVIA WILDE U R VRY PRETTY! But I’m still having no luck with that and will continue stabbing my Jason Sudeikis voodoo doll in the genitals on my coffee breaks. As for the plot: "Luke and Kate are co-workers at a Chicago brewery, where they spend their days drinking and flirting. They’re perfect for each other, except that they’re both in relationships. Luke is in the midst of marriage talks with his girlfriend of six years, Kate is playing it cool with her music producer boyfriend Chris. But you know what makes the line between “friends” and “more than friends” really blurry? Beer." And Luke, played by New Girl’s Jake Johnson, has the difficult life of being in a serious relationship with Anna Kendrick but in love with Wilde. It’s exactly what would happen to me if I found myself alone on an island with Kendrick and Wilde and still didn’t look anything like me.

Jimmy Fallon: Rap Lyrics For Super Mario Brothers Theme

It’s video game week over on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and although Howard Stern hates it and doesn’t understand how Jimmy Fallon could get elevated to The Tonight Show, Fallon knows what he’s doing. Case in point: During Fallon’s Suggestion Box segment, someone suggested that there be lyrics for the “Super Mario Brothers” Theme. The Roots’ Black Thought was more than happy to provide them, and they are STUPENDOUS.

20 jun 2013 15:10

Tumblr Shows Hipsters Took Fashion Cues fom Jackie on ‘Rosenanne’
20 jun 2013 14:56
‘Roseanne’ is arguably one of the greatest sitcoms of all time for a variety of reasons, but a big part of its success can be traced back to the character Jackie Harris. Why? Well for starters, she’s a fashion icon. No, seriously– lots of today’s trends exist because of her. Don’t believe us? Then head on over to the ‘Hipsters Who Dress Like Jackie from Roseanne’ Tumblr Basically, it’s hilariously accurate proof that hipsters are, in fact, modern-day Jackies. Rihanna Smacked a Grabby Fan With Her Microphone In England [VIDEO]
20 jun 2013 13:39
It seemed some of that Chris Brown aggression may have rubbed off on Rihanna on Sunday, June 16, when she whacked a fan with her mic mid-song during a concert. RiRi, in Birmingham during the UK leg of her Diamonds world tour, took a detour through the crowd during a performance when an overzealous fan grabbed hold of the singer and held on for dear life. Try as she might to keep walking, Rih couldn’t escape the person’s iron grip — and rather than let her security detail handle it, she eventually turned to strike the subject with her magical glittery microphone, breaking their hex on her. According to the New York Daily News, Rihanna had good aim and hit the concertgoer’s “face or head.” Ouch. (To add insult to injury, the singer allegedly started the show two hours late, too.) Ri’s camp is giving radio silence. But if history is any indicator, we already know she’s unapologetic.

Easy as pie
20 jun 2013 12:52

Many of us have heard the expressions "cool as a cucumber" or "easy as pie." In this playful collection of food art, London-based designer Christine Kawasaki-Chan took those phrases to the next level, creating a series in which each food idiom comes to life right before our eyes. The artist created compositions that naturally blend her incredible lettering skills with a variety of delicious foods pairings. Using basic items like bread, cucumbers, and pie crust as her unique canvas, Kawasaki-Chan produced perfectly scripted, edible letters. The first few words of the idioms are formed out of the toasted impressions on the surface of bread, the delicate curls of a cucumber peel, and the perfectly carved crusts of a baked pie. Viewers are left to complete the sentence on their own using the context clues and their knowledge of the English language. The artist's clever word play is a gorgeous display of typography in the form of deliciously appealing snacks.

The Secret Life of Plastic Toy Animals
20 jun 2013 12:49
Just what do our kids' plastic toy animals do when we're not looking? Photographer Jeff Friesen has the answer. His adorable series takes a look at their secret life inside our homes! Like many projects, this one started out as a personal project, one dedicated to the photographer's daughter. Looking to decorate his daughter's room with some fun animal prints, Friesen decided to create these. His friends and family loved them so much that they urged him to start selling them online. As a nice accompaniment, the photographer includes a short story with each one. For instance, for the birthday cake-loving hippo he states, "Hugo was a model of self-restraint in many aspects of life. In fact, he restrained himself from piano practice every day. Surely no one would notice if He took one small bite of his sister's birthday cake. Just one tiny bite!" See more of our favorites, below. (Got to love his bright wallpaper backgrounds.)

Looks very cute
20 jun 2013 11:58

You’ve seen couples trying to match each other by just wearing clothes with the same colors and designs – sometimes it works and sometimes it just looks lame and boring. Adam and Sarah from San Francisco, CA, is a couple on Kickstarter that’s trying to change the way couples “match” each other with t-shirts that make sense only when the pair wears them next to each other. The designs are about love, sometimes abstract and sometimes not, but they all play on the simple concept that they have to be worn together for the meaning to be truly understood.

Woah. Good God, fella. Get ahold of yourself. Pathetic. “Double Hamburger. Moby's Fim proposition
18 jun 2013 16:07

Well this is certainly a nice gesture: Moby is offering a substantial portion of his catalog to “independent and non-profit filmmakers, film students and anyone in need of free music for their independent, non-profit film, video or short” via Mobygratis.com. If any of the music is used in a film that turns a profit, then the proceeds Moby would normally receive will go to the Humane Society. As Short Form Blog points out, he’s not the first to make such an offer to aspiring/amateur filmmakers. "Back in the ’70s and ’80s, novelist Stephen King started doing something similar, giving budding filmmakers the rights to his short stories for a dollar. While most of the people who created films based on King’s short stories didn’t become famous, one did: Frank Darabont, the guy who directed the “The Shawshank Redemption” and “The Green Mile”—both films based on King stories. Oh, and Darabont created a little series you might have heard of called “The Walking Dead.”" Well there you go. Moby is a nice guy who also enjoys condomless sex with pretty young brunettes. Good on him.

10 Terrible Father’s Day Gifts

But, if we could make a suggestion, don’t get your dad any of these things for Father’s Day. Not even as a joke, because what a waste of money. Maybe if you really hate him or something, these would make sense. But, still, do you really want to spend $20 on a useless piece of garbage to make your dad feel bad when you could use that $20 to make 80 harrassing calls from different pay phones? (Don’t actually do that.) Here are some things to avoid this Father’s Day.

If *we* met Robert Downey, Jr., we would probably just find the nearest closet to hide in, to avoid humiliating ourselves in front of somebody we’ve had a crush on since whenever ‘Weird Science’ came out. It looks like this kid’s outdoors, so we would probably be crying because there are no closets. At least RDJ tried to make him feel better. Check out the cute photos below.

Miss Utah Gives Probably the Worst Answer in the History of Pageants
18 jun 2013 15:25

Guys, pageant contestants aren’t just pretty faces — they’re also extremely capable of saying things so incoherently stupid that it gives you a headache. Here was the question: “A recent report shows that in 40& of American families with children, women are the primary earners, yet they continue to earn less than men. What does this say about society?” Not since Miss Teen South Carolina have we seen such a confusing response to a fairly straightforward question. Sincerely, look at Jezebel for maybe one day a year, and you should be able to at least bluff your way through that one. Instead, what happened? No really, what happened — we genuinely don’t know. This immediately popped to mind:

Kanye West - I Am A Dog [YEEZUS]

Whether you love or hate Kanye’s new album ‘Yeezus’ (or haven’t heard it yet because it hasn’t *technically* been released), you’re going to love this track. It’s the “I Am a Dog” remix of ‘I Am a God.’ Kanye maybe takes himself a little bit too seriously (for a rapper who complains about his croissants taking too long to get to the table) so this dog adds a wonderful touch of levity. NSFW, because Kanye is serious these days, and that means he’s swearing. A lot. Enjoy!
