Brave Idiot Slaps Beyoncé's Butt, Somehow Survives
28 may 2013 13:35
Beyoncé’s butt is like a da Vinci painting: it’s meant to be admired from afar, not felt. (Though only Bey has a workout video with her name on it.) NO TOUCHING, as it were, unless your name is Jay-Z or Carmen: A Hip Hopera star Mekhi Phifer. Then it’s all yours; otherwise, how dare you touch the Queen’s behind, especially during a live show, when she’s performing “Irreplaceable,” as one brave idiot recently did in Copenhagen. Beyonce’s response: “I’ll have you escorted out for that.” She was joking, but not really. In other words:

We’d Have a ‘Hangover’ with Zach Galifianakis
28 may 2013 13:23
‘The Hangover Part 3‘ hits theaters this weekend, and when you’re not salivating over Bradley Cooper, you’ll likely find yourself smitten with comedian Zach Galifianakis and his adorable beard-face. There’s something really cute about the guy. He’s a bit chubby, he’s got that mountain man beard thing going on, and he always plays characters that are sort of obnoxious or gross or childish — basically, he makes us laugh our butts off. A guy with a sense of humor and an amazing beard? Sign us up. But here’s why else you should love Galifianakis: Back in 1994, when he was trying to make a name for himself, he met an elderly woman who helped out at a local laundromat in LA. Her name was Mimi, and she got by on the tips she earned for helping patrons. The two became friends, but then Galifianakis got a bit famous and they lost touch — until a couple of years ago, when he found out that Mimi had become homeless. So he found her a one bedroom apartment, pays her rent, and introduced her to Renee Zellweger, who also helps out with Mimi’s expenses. Even cuter? Galifianakis has taken Mimi to premieres for ‘The Hangover’ movies and for his comedy ‘The Campaign.’

‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ Andrew Garfield Gets on the Court with Kids
28 may 2013 12:34
Okay, if you didn’t love Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker before, we bet you will now. ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ star took a break from filming — but not from his Spidey suit — to play basketball with kids. And it’s on video. Garfield doesn’t seem to be too skilled at hoops, though he may well be toning his game down to accommodate the youngins’ (or the suit). You can’t see the British actor’s face, but several sources close to the action (via Digital Spy) say it is, in fact, Garfield, and that he and girlfriend Emma Stone were taking a break from filming the sequel to ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ nearby. Stone can also be seen briefly in the clip walking a dog. So cute! “This is the real deal,” one YouTube uploader insists. “Andrew Garfield, taking it to the hole, buries the jumper on the two kids.”

Looking Like Taylor Swift May Get You Beat Up
28 may 2013 12:29
Apparently feelin’ ’22′ can make you black and blue. Lots of girls want to look like Taylor Swift, because well, look at her. But it may not be all it’s cracked up to be — and may result in you getting cracked in the head. A Swift look-alike in the U.K. came forward saying she was brutally beaten purely for having a passing resemblance to the oft-heartbroken singer. Swift’s quasi-doppelganger Xenna Kristian, 18, who only sort of looks like Swift when she’s all done up, vented to The Daily Mail, “Some girls at college had started making nasty comments, but it escalated really quickly. The girl came up behind me and dragged me off my chair by my pony tail, then started kicking me in the face. It just came as a complete shock.” Kristian’s been working as a Swift look-alike for a while and assumes people beat her up out of jealousy. “I never expected anything like this to happen. It’s not nice to see people being nasty about you,” she lamented. “Since I started being a look-alike people have been saying stuff. They must be jealous that I’m going off to do something with my life,” she continued. “Nothing like this has ever happened to me before. I still feel shaken up.” C’mon, guys. Why you gotta be so mean?

Chris Brown May Be Prison Bound
28 may 2013 12:05
While Rihanna is on tour, Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran have reunited, because that’s what they always do. And this time, it did damage to something other than Tran’s self-respect. The duo were in a Mercedes that slammed into the back of another Mercedes. (Rich people have problems too, you guys.) TMZ cameras caught the couple exchanging info with the female driver of an SUV that they rear ended. The damage was described as “medium” so no cops came — which was likely a relief for Brown, who would have been held at fault. The accident is now being investigated by the LAPD as a hit-and-run because Brown reportedly refused to exchange information with the other driver. A charge like that poses a potential a probation violation — and possibly jail time for the drama-magnet star. Brown is said to have not wanted to hand over his driver’s license info, and the insurance information he provided had incorrect details. And, not so surprisingly, Brown was said to have an attitude about the whole thing, because nothing is ever his fault. She made him. For those who can’t keep track, Breezy is on probation for his 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna; one of the conditions of his probation is that he simply has to obey the law. If he left the scene of an accident without exchanging proper documents, that’s a probation violation that can land him behind bars for four years.

Fact Or Fiction? A Vampire Hunting Kit From 1890
28 may 2013 11:33
Is this a fascinating piece of history or an elaborate hoax designed to capture the imagination? The legend goes that Andrew A. Kauffman (a vampire hunter in 1890) wrote the following letter to one Mrs. Eberhardt – detailing how he had vanquished “the vampire” that had apparently killed the woman’s daughter. His letter reads as follows: “I have dispatched the vampir that took your sweet daughters life. Included in this case are the tools used in the final act along with proof of its death. Mildredas life was too innocent to be taken by such a monster; she was dearly loved by me as we were newly betrothed. May she now rest in peace.” Inside his kit is a stake, a hatchet, a bottle of sulphur, pistol, holy water, pilers, the Holy Bible, a trusty Crucifix & syringe, but also a photo of the vampire’s victim – dear old Mildred. There is some debate as to the authenticity of the kit though, both the hatchet & knife are modern pieces, the typewritten letter appears to be dated 1849, which predates the typewriter, and also predates the break-action cartridge loading derringer. But whether it’s a piece of art or a piece of history, it makes for a fascinating talking point and guide to keep those long toothed fiends at bay.

28 Impressive Examples Of Street Art Around The World
28 may 2013 11:25
In case you didn’t know, we’re avid supporters of street art / graffiti, there’s a lot to be said about injecting some much need creativity & imagination into everyday life. Would you rather look at a row of grey, mouldy council flats or an eight story high mural of brightly clothed girl with blue hair? Exactly. So we thought it was about time to bring you a brand new collection of characters, colours and concepts from the 4 corners of the world. Are there any local artists at work in your area? If so post your links in the comment below so we can check them out and add them to this article. Until then, we’ll leave you with these powerful & famous words from Banksy: Trademarks, intellectual property rights and copyright law mean advertisers can say what they like wherever they like with total impunity. Fuck that. Any advert in a public space that gives you no choice whether you see it or not is yours. It’s yours to take, re-arrange and re-use. You can do whatever you like with it. Asking for permission is like asking to keep a rock someone just threw at your head. You owe the companies nothing. Less than nothing, you especially don’t owe them any courtesy. They owe you. They have re-arranged the world to put themselves in front of you. They never asked for your permission, don’t even start asking for theirs.

Photographer Gives Lollipop Then Takes It Away
27 may 2013 12:52

Jill Greenberg “The Manipulator” is one of the more popular photographers of her era, however she is also one of the most controversial ones too. Her exhibit, called End Times, shows photos of various kids crying as if something terrible had happened. The pieces were titled to reflect Greenberg’s frustration with the government and Christian Fundamentalism in the United States. How does she get these shots, you might ask? One photography enthusiast revealed photographer’s rather cruel way of making her models cry – Greenberg gives them lollipop and then quickly takes it away. Once people realized this, many condemned her for such methods. Others, however, say that kids cry all the time, and there’s no harm in it. What about you? How far would you go to take a perfect shot?

It’s hard to believe, but all of the sculptures you see below are made entirely of wood and then painted. The person responsible is artist and educator Tom Eckert, who uses traditional processes to carve, construct, laminate and paint his pieces. Tom says his preferred woods are basswood, linden and limewood because they carve and paint well and are stable. His background is in painting and drawing, where his focus was on realism. His preferred paint is waterborne lacquer applied using both spray guns and brushes.

Aziz Ansari On Fallon: Aziz Is So Hilariously Done With Late Nights
24 may 2013 10:07
If you’ve paid any attention to Aziz Ansari’s late night appearances over the years you know that he pretty much uses them as an opportunity to work on his stand-up material — and then occasionally mentions whatever he is plugging at the moment. Last night’s appearance on Fallon was no different, except that his opening material hit home hard with a certain not-as-cool-as-they-used-to-be demographic. As someone on the other side of thirty himself, I often look back on my twenties and think about how much time I wasted while simultaneously reminding myself how astonished the twenty-something version of me would be with all the things the current model is done with. I imagine I’m not alone here. And now we can add recently turned 30 year-old Aziz Ansari to our lameass ranks. This first bit on his evolving perception of staying out late is us in a microcosm.

2013 Memorial Cup - American National Anthem Butchered - Alexis Normand
24 may 2013 07:15

At the 2013 Memorial Cup game between the Portland Winterhawks and the Halifax Mooseheads, French Canadian folk/jazz singer Alexis Normand was charged with singing both the Canadian and the U. S. national anthems. Reasonably, she didn’t already know “The Star-Spangled Banner,” so she memorized it for this event. But apparently she didn’t learn it quite well enough. Everything fell apart as she reached the end of the third line and had to take a break, before coming back in with nonsense lyrics to get her through to the last line, which she remembered just fine. Poor lady…
