Oh blessed are we for we are receiving a new Leonardo DiCaprio movie! ‘The Great Gatsby‘ hits theaters next week, but why wait until then to swoon over Leo? Leonardo DiCaprio is a national treasure, a guy we’ve loved since he was on ‘Growing Pains,’ and who grew up to be quite the attractive young man. He stole our hearts in movies like ‘Romeo + Juliet’ and ‘Titanic,’ but then he decided he didn’t want to play your typical heartthrob roles anymore, so he got real with stuff like ‘The Departed,’ ‘Shutter Island,’ and ‘Inception.’ He’s definitely one of the most interesting and engaging actors working today, and is always selective about the roles he takes, working frequently with legendary director Martin Scorsese. But next week sees the release of ‘The Great Gatsby,’ a film in which DiCaprio reunites with his ‘Romeo + Juliet’ director Baz Luhrmann and everything comes full circle. This time around, Leo doesn’t seem to be playing a swoony cutie like Romeo — he’s more of a cad, this Gatsby guy, and he seems to have some pretty dark secrets. Let’s take a few minutes to admire the sexiness of this leading man who seems to only get more attractive with age — but don’t they all?

At first glance, these photographs appear to be everyday moments of people who are out for a walk with their dogs. However, upon closer inspection, viewers will realize that all of the dogs have disappeared in these photographs by Poland-based artist Weronika Krzemieniecka. In this series entitled Invisible Dogs in Poland, the graphic design student takes us on a playful journey of imagination, where invisible pets are apparently a popular trend!

Check out this beautiful collection of photos of vintage science labs, from the Renaissance to Pasteur and Edison and ENIAC. Labs like these are the source of the shared dream of what science looks like that dominates our contemporary consciousness, even though most labs today look very different.

Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman goes big – so big, that it’s practically impossible to miss his artistic statements. His latest work is a 46 feet tall and 55 feet long inflatable rubber duck, which today arrived to Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour and will stay there till June 9. Boldly called the Rubber Duck, this floating sculpture is described by Florentijn as a “very positive artistic statement that immediately connects people to their childhood”.

Vanilla Chamu has said she intends to keep having surgeries until she has achieved her lifelong goal. Photos of Vanilla Chamu prior to her first procedures reveal a rather mousy Japanese teenager whose facial features are virtually unrecognizable from the bizarre and undoubtedly more “western-looking” appearance that she now possesses. Certain plastic surgery treatments, including double-eyelid surgery and nose jobs, are increasingly popular amongst Asian woman wishing to look more western.

The photos of Vintage Salon Hair Dryers that you can find here are nothing short of spectacular. Every single one of these demands to be dug out of the scrapheap of history, refurbished, and used as a prop in a low-budget science fiction movie. Especially the kraken-hair ones.

Photographer Henry Hargreaves was inspired by the crazy (when taken out of context, of course) riders of some of the “biggest acts in the world,” like Nine Inch Nails and Busta Rhymes, to create a photo series of the food, drinks, and other items required in these contracts. He says that found them interesting because they offer “a glimpse into their larger-than-life personalities.”

'Bad Lip Reading' presents a hilarious bad lip reading parody of the AMC television series, The Walking Dead. The 5-minute video is filled with characters (including zombies) talking about off the wall topics and it ends with a hilarious Broadway tune.

Toronto-based photographer Todd McLellan has created “Things Come Apart,” a photo collection of disassembled technology like chainsaws, pianos, clocks, cameras, and more. Check it out!

Most of the dashboard camera videos coming out of Russia depict accidents, bad behavior, and other mayhem. To provide an alternative view of Russian drivers, ArkadiYM93 has created a compilation of feel-good moments captured by dash cams—a cop and passerby shepherding a family of ducks across a boulevard, a burly motorist manhandling a fellow driver’s car out of heavy snow, and many instances of drivers stopping to help old ladies cross busy streets.

Textastrophe is a Tumblr blog that collects humorous conversations with people who have posted their phone numbers in public, often on Craigslist. The blog’s owner contacts the individuals and trolls them with ironic or downright weird situations and requests.

Star Wars fans have seen their share of cool swimwear from Black Milk Clothing, R2-D2 Swimsuit, AT-AT Swimsuit, and the Lightsaber Battle Swimsuit. But now ladies with daddy issues, and ones that prefer the Dark Side, will get to show off in the Darth Vader I Am Your Father Swimsuit.

Dancing Plague of 1518 is a series of illustrations by Brazilian artist Niege Borges showing famous dance steps from television shows and films. It also honors an out of control dance epidemic of the same name that took place in 1518 in France.

Singapore-based artist Joseph Chiang of Monster Gallery has created a powerful series of illustrations that reimagine characters from Star Wars as mythical Chinese warriors. Check it out!

Now in its 26th year, the Houston Art Car Parade is the oldest and largest art car parade in the world and features “an incredible array of mobile masterpieces, street performers, and art car fanatics.” Presented by Orange Show Center for Visionary Art, this year’s parade will take place on Saturday May 11, 2013 in Houston, Texas. Check out the pictures of some of the cars submitted to the parade this year.

German artist and designer Aslan Malik created Injustice League Of North Korea, a series of defaced North Korean currency showing political leader Kim Il-sung (1912-1994) on the 100, 1,000 and 5,000 won banknotes reimagined as a Justice League comic book villain.

These delightful high speed photos of flying containers of liquid are by Belgium-based photographer Manon Wethly. Remarkably, Wethly took most of the photos with her humble iPhone camera.

In this pictures taken in Brazilian town of Manaus, you can see a truck that weighed down with almost 28,000 pounds of paint tipped over as it tried to take a curve a little too fast. This worked out to nearly 3,000 gallons of what turned out to be very pleasant colors being spread all over the road. Check it out.
