Yesterday, a Redditor, who has since deleted his account, uploaded a Confession Bear to Quick Meme that read, “My sister had an abusive meth addict boyfriend/I killed him with his own drugs while he was unconscious and they ruled it as an overdose.” The anonymous would-be hero and/or hero, depending on your point of view, scrubbed his Reddit history clean, but “lionheart1610k” filled in the blanks quite well.

This Tumblr may inadvertently function as birth control. Reasons My Sons Is Crying shows pictures of a little boy crying, and then provides the “reason.” It might make you rethink wanting to have kids. It is terrifying. It is hilarious. Would you bring a ringer in to your funeral? Because it might become a thing. A British company called Rent a Mourner does exactly what you think it does: it rents out people to show up to funerals so the deceased can have a proper memorial. The cost? About $68 per person. The company promises to “supply professional, discreet people to attend funerals and wakes. If you simply need to increase visitor numbers or introduce new faces, then we can help.” Basically, it’s a way to avoid that low “Hey, no one favorited my tweet” feeling we’ve all had before setting sail for the afterlife. It’s like being a seat-filler at an awards show or a cast member of ‘The Truman Show,’ only it’s because you had no friends while you were alive.

Twitter hashtags only have a couple purposes: track current conversational trends, and maybe keep people informed (or distracted). But every now and then a poorly-worded phrase confuses the masses. Like Susan Boyle‘s anal bum party. Or, in this case, a hashtag about today’s passing of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher — which oddly had Cher fans in an uproar. We can understand the confusion. The hashtag #nowthatchersdead was meant to be parsed out as “now Thatcher’s dead.” But it can certainly look like “now that Cher’s dead.” Oops. But don’t worry, Cher fans. Your 66-year-old icon is still going strong. Because, as the old joke goes, when the apocalypse finally comes, all that will be left are cockroaches, Keith Richards, and Cher.
