Hilarious Look at the Everyday Life of Wookiees

Portland, Oregon-based photographer Mako Miyamoto (aka neon werewolf) playfully explores the everyday lives of Wookiees. The funny images feature the giant, hairy beasts as they kick back, relax, and have some fun. Each episode in his growing collection presents a different adventure, from the mundane and ordinary to the less mundane but still pretty standard activities. Unlike Chewbacca, the woolly sidekick in the Star Wars franchise, these Wookiees aren't in the business of fighting Stormtroopers. With the exception of the few menacing crooks looking to rob a diner, these furry fellas are just looking to have a good time at the roller rink, celebrate a birthday with cake, have a rejuvenating yoga session, sit down for a delicious meal outdoors, re-enact their favorite karate moves on the beach, and even get in on the Hadoukening photo meme.

Rap Lyrics Amusingly Set Against Beautiful Landscapes

When it comes to online, context is everything. That’s why these rap lyrics set against relaxing, expansive and beautiful scenic backgrounds are hilarious to read. When sharply delivered behind some slick production & in the middle of the flow they make perfect sense – but them in isolation and they come across as nothing sort of ridiculous. They’re just a few examples of some of the fine work going on via Tumblr blog Rap Poems where both the fun and lyrics never end.

The Whiniest Ever First World Problems

One of our favourite Twitter hashtags is #1stworldproblems a cheeky reference to that fact it isn’t easy being a privileged citizen of a developed nation. So it wasn’t going to be long until someone decided to combined some of the most superficial & narrow-minded tweets into a visual series. It’s amusing, depressing & dumbfounding in equal amounts. It might suck that you don’t have wifi right now, but none of us should ever lose sight of the fact there are scenes like this happening every day in 3rd world countries. Kick back, relax and prepare to shake your head at 140 characters of self-indulgent first world problems.

We’re Devoted to ‘Dexter’ Star Michael C. Hall

He may play a serial killer on ‘Dexter,’ but that doesn’t make Michael C. Hall any less handsome in our eyes — you know, because television is fiction. Duh. On the Showtime series ‘Dexter,’ Michael C. Hall has portrayed anti-hero Dexter Morgan for seven years now — the show just started its eighth and final season, which feels bittersweet. On the one hand, it’s about time for the show to end, and on the other, well, we’re going to miss seeing Hall on our TV every Sunday night. His character is a serial killer, but not just any serial killer; he only kills murderers. So he’s kind of a good guy? But not really. Hall used to star on the HBO series ‘Six Feet Under,’ and he was married to his ‘Dexter’ co-star Jennifer Carpenter, who plays his sister Deb on the show. (Note that we said “was” because they’re no longer wed.) Hall is currently dating novelist Morgan Macgregor. Up next for him is a role in the upcoming film ‘Kill Your Darlings,’ with Daniel Radcliffe and Dane DeHaan. Dude sure loves to be involved in projects about death, eh?

We’re no strangers to weird ass commercials, even foreign weird ass commercials but this compliaction of weird ass Japanese commericals features some of the weirdiest assiest commericals we’ve ever seen. It’s got jingles about “jerry beans” that blush when their underpants get pulled off, giant tanuki testicles, Tommy Lee Jones shouting at high school students in Japanese, and much more weird ass stuff. Not that you’d need more, because that’s a lot of weird ass stuff already. Unless you’re from Japan, then it’s a lot average ass stuff.

PE teacher Dale Irby started his legendary yearbook photograph sequence by mistake, when he realized we was wearing the same polyester shirt and coffee-colored sweater like he did for the photo shoot one year ago, back in 1973.

This Ukrainian Outdoor Gym Is Made From Scrap Metal

It’s a long way from the likes of Venice Beach, but Kachalka Muscle Beach in Kiev, Ukraine is home to just as many muscle-bound individuals. The key difference though is that they pump iron, not on state of the art gym equipment, but by using a devices, weights and machine built from scrap metal. One mans old tractor axle, is another man’s weight lift! And whilst the gear they use is different to just about every single gym in the developed world – the results are the same. When it comes to Kachalka Muscle Beach, the former machines of the industrial revolution are turning the locals into leaner and meaner machines themselves.

Dwarves Get In Shape And Cherries Get Popped: 'The Hobbit' Video Blog

Peter Jackson released the second production blog for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (first one here) along with an announcement. He says they won’t be present at San Diego Comic-Con this year, his reason being that they’ll be shooting pickup scenes that week and he doesn’t have time to get a sizzle reel ready while staying on schedule for Smaug‘s release this December 13th. We suspect he may also be avoiding a repeat of last year’s Barfgate™. But any disappointment about the lack of Comic-Con clips evaporated when the video introduced us to “Dwarvicising”.

Anyhoo, one stickler-for-details Arrested Development fan decided he’d test George Michael Bluth’s “unfailing internal clock” in one of my favorite scenes from S4 and said test led to him sharing his findings in the below YouTube video and r/Arrested Development with the caption, “I timed George Michael’s ‘unfailing internal clock.’ I don’t know what I expected.” I enjoyed this more than I can justify.

After Watching Big Sean’s Mom Read His Lyrics, We Want Her to Adopt Us

In the early days of rap and hip-hop, the rappers always politely sent words to our mothers — only it came out more like “word to ya’ mutha.” But really, if you listen to the lyrics of most rap songs, your mother is the last person you’d want to hear them. And that’s where Jimmy Kimmel and Big Sean‘s mom come in. In the most recent installment of his segment ‘Words From Your Mother,’ Kimmel had Sean’s maternal unit read lyrics from his song ‘Dance’ (A$$).’ Which she does, eloquently and adorably. The woman is the picture of taste and composure. In front of the picture of, well, ass. Sorry (not sorry) you can’t stop laughing now. And just for good measure, here’s a sweet snap of Sean and his mom that he posted to his Instagram account a couple months ago. Honest to God, she’s cute as a kitten calendar.
