Brew in India
31 oct 2012 04:30

If you happen to be in India, do not drink the local brew. You have no idea, what it is made of. You'll find it out after the jump.

Role Playing Camp in China
31 oct 2012 04:28

This looks an absolute blast. Instead of pretending to be a medieval knight saving a princess from a damp tower you can go to this role playing camp in China and pretend to be killing the Japanese. You just know this will ease the tension between the two nations.

Paint Splashes by Ian Crawford
31 oct 2012 03:14

This work is amazing. Ian takes paint or powder and catches, with high speed photography, the moment the model and the powder or paint collide. It makes for some very dramatic pictures. Look at the way the paint drapes the models like a perfectly designed dress.

Well now take that creepy baby and turn it into a mask. A mask the whole family can wear. Yeah. Now you know why this posting is so creepy.

Check out these awesome beds
31 oct 2012 02:10

When I was a little kid I always wanted to have one of those beds that was also a race car. Never happened!

But now they have way better beds anyways. Check out these amazing designs for really cool beds. I really like the Ying Yang bed. The curves of the wood are so beautiful.

20 Awesome clocks
31 oct 2012 01:58

Clocks are sexy. What can I say? I fell in love with clocks during grade school when the big white one would tick away, sometimes stuck at 5 to 3, but always there in its white majestic perch.

Well, I am not in school anymore but a cool clock is still a good thing. Here are some clocks that would rock on my wall or yours.

Surf Trooper
30 oct 2012 20:07

Ever since we spotted Darth Vader on holiday, there’s a question that’s been bothering us: who’s overseeing the plans for the new Death Star? Clearly it’s not this Stormtrooper who, after realising the big man was taking a well-earned sojourn, decided he’d do the same (does anyone actually do any work around there?). On his travels, the helmet clad chap has taken a shine to surfing, swimming and some Thai Chi (we think). Although, like most of us even when we’re on holiday it takes a while to relax and forget about the day job (see second pic above).

Real World Tweets
30 oct 2012 20:01

After firing off a tweet, it's often easy to forget that outside of your own 20ish followers, there's a whole world of actual people that can see what you're up to. While some users could do with a stern reminder of this (there are only so many 'cant believe its rainin lol' tweets we can stand to read), it's also interesting to imagine what a stranger might assume from your Twitter profile. Photographer Michael Hughes decided to investigate some local tweets and went about capturing the context of each 140-character statement. His collection of pictures show various locals in the very location they originally tweeted.

Minimalist Superhero Posters
30 oct 2012 19:57
Working as a perfect antidote to the over-stuffed, effects-driven superhero films we've been enduring of late, these simple takes on Marvel icons are definitely our favourite things of the day. Marko Manev created these minimalist posters which reduce justice-serving vigilantes down to their essence and create perfect wall fodder in the process.

Superhero Dinosaurs
30 oct 2012 19:54
We think that is explanation enough Stop the press. Hold the front page. And ditch the coffee, we’ll have a cognac. Dinosaurs did not die out; they just bunkered down for a few millennia, waited for someone to invent superheroes and then decided to join the party. Well, we imagine that’s how artist David Resto justified his superhero dinosaur creations anyway. Either way, we’re sold. Iron Brontosaurus, Captain Ameritops, Hulkasaurus Rex, Ankylothorus, heck, this stuff writes, or should we say, draws, itself. Now we want to see a fight off with these celeb superheroes…

Deep-fried Gadgets
30 oct 2012 19:49
You can do quite a few things with an iPad but it’s a fair guess that Henry Hargreaves has come up with a use beyond even Steve Jobs’ imagination. The inventive photographer decided to deep-fry electronic gadgets and then take jarring yet oddly mouth-watering snaps of the results. His inspiration was a video of some Japanese kids trying to deep-fry and (unsuccessfully) eat a PSP. Before you choke on your …err deep-fried Mars bar at the thought of all those shiny goodies melting into oblivion, Hargreaves has an admission to make. "I'm not rich enough to buy and destroy the electronics, nor did I want to find out what happens to a lithium battery when it goes in 400 degrees of oil," he says. "So I recreated each product from foam core and we went to town." Phew.

Awe-Inspiring Star Wars Portraits - Design - ShortList Magazine

Star Wars art isn't always something that requires much attention, since new pieces crop up every four seconds. Maybe five at weekends. But, hold the phone, we might have found the greatest Star Wars art in existence. No, really. They're digital mosaics which use various pieces of Star Wars iconography to make up the faces of six key characters. Geeks, consider the gauntlet well and truly thrown down

Star Wars Characters Face The Recession
30 oct 2012 19:06
The economic downturn has affected all of us. Well, almost all of us. So it's no great surprise that it's also had an impact on the characters from Star Wars. You know, given their extravagant lifestyles. After all, it was estimated that the Death Star would have cost a whopping $8.1 quadrillion to make. So while we're saddened, we're not too surprised to see so many iconic faces roaming the streets. Photographer Marcus Minuchin has created a set of images that provide an insight into this new intergalactic underclass. Would you offer them a spare penny? Or perhaps a ripped up Phantom Menace poster?

Top 10 Hotel Views In The World

Better than the M62 Travelodge We've stayed in many places that have barely been passed fit for human habitation: cockroaches, no hot water, views of a brick wall and, worst of all, no complimentary biscuits. But we suspect that this won't be a problem if you pick one from a new website, The Most Perfect View, which showcases an international range of luxury hotels that offer truly spectacular vistas (and, we'd imagine, really good biscuits). Below are our top 10 views; don't worry Lenny, the M6 Toll Premier Inn was no. 11 we promise. PIAZZA DEL CAMPO, SIENA, ITALY, 1280-1350
30 oct 2012 18:43
"I thought I’d be a bit mischievous and seek to re-write the rules. Buildings are important, but they’re not the only part of the story. The infrastructure that binds the architecture - by that I mean the squares, the parks, the connections - together is more important than the buildings themselves. This beautiful square in Siena is one of the very first examples of a space that was actually planned. It serves as the spatial heart of the city. It’s a very, very beautiful space and it...
