This Weeks Ridiculous Tabloids
17 apr 2013 11:52
I read Us Weekly, National Enquirer, Star, Life & Style and In Touch this week — so you didn’t have to. You’re welcome. Alright, just kidding, I didn't read this junk. The mere sight of these make my eyes bleed and make me want to scream bloody murder. What I did do, is collect all the cover pages so that you don't have to go out and buy them. This week, baby weight battles are raging in the headlines, Michael Jackson was murdered, Angelina Jolie has taken up collapsing as a hobby, Kris Kardashian likes martinis while Kim Kardashian likes to eat, Suri Cruise is already hooking up, and all kinds of other really real stuff you’d have to read to believe.

Adam Lambert on Out Magazine
17 apr 2013 11:58

There’s something so sexy about a guy who can wear eyeliner, which is just one of the many reasons why we love androgynous pop star Adam Lambert. Though he was runner-up on season 8 of ‘American Idol’ in 2009, that didn’t stop Adam from taking over the world. His first album, ‘For Your Entertainment,’ was a chart-topper, and his second album, ‘Trespassing,’ debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts last year, proving that his fans just can’t get enough. Lambert totally earns that acclaim, too — he’s a fantastic singer and an amazing performer, and we’re always stoked to see what he’s up to next. But enough about his voice — the guy is smokin’ hot. How many dudes do YOU know who can wear eyeliner? Let me answer that for you: none. You know none. But this guy can rock the eyeliner, look mad androgynous and still be hot. Who else can do that? Tilda Swinton? Okay. He’s definitely got an ’80s vibe, and he kind of reminds me of Adam Ant (who was also incredibly attractive, wore eyeliner and liked to blur gender lines). But aside from being really pretty and super talented, Lambert is also inspiring: He’s the first openly gay artist to launch a career on a major record label in the United States, and he spends a lot of time using his power for good with numerous philanthropy efforts. So he isn’t just nice to look at — even though looking at him is very, very nice indeed.

Reid Scott from ‘Veep’ Makes Our Hearts Beep
17 apr 2013 12:00
‘Veep’ premiered its second season on HBO this past Sunday (April 14), and it remains probably the best show you aren’t watching — it’s funny, it’s smart, and it stars the very handsome Reid Scott. So what are you waiting for? When you watch ‘Veep’ and your vision finally clears and you can see through all the tears induced from laughing so hard it hurts, you’ll notice this tasty morsel: Reid Scott, the guy who plays Dan Egan on the show, an adviser to Julia Louis Dreyfuss’ Vice President Selina Meyer. The show follows VP Selina as she tries — and fails — to be a more substantial entity in the White House, scurrying to avoid and clean up bad press about her and her politics. She has a crew that includes Scott’s Dan Egan, Anna Chlumsky’s Amy, Tony Hale from ‘Arrested Development,’ and comic veteran Matt Walsh. The show is fantastic and there’s still plenty of time to get caught up and check it out in its second season. And if the synopsis and amazing cast don’t sell you, maybe Reid Scott will. The tall, dark, and handsome (TDH is the holy grail, ladies) actor has also starred on other TV shows like ‘My Boys,’ ‘The Big C,’ and ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager,’ so chances are you — like me — have seen him around and not realized it until now.

Today, the Guinness World Records brand is as popular or more than the stygian-dark Irish stout that shares its name. The institution has been forced to create rules against physically dangerous or ethically questionable records as there’s no shortage of people willing to make a fool or a cripple out of themselves to appear in the latest edition. The Stupidest Justin Bieber Tweets That Got At Least 50,000 Retweets
17 apr 2013 13:15
Justin Bieber launched himself back into the news this week by writing something totally idiotic in Anne Frank's guestbook. No one should be surprised. The Biebs fills his Twitter timeline with some of the most inane chatter on the web. The only thing stupider than his tweets is the number of re-tweets his fans give him. Whether those fans are actual people or just bots is up for debate, but one thing is for sure: if these people are real, they are a bunch of morons. Below is a sampling of just a handful of totally meaningless Tweets that each garnered at least 50,000 re-tweets. It's all the proof you need that Beliebers are unbeliebably stupid.

Blending cute illustrations with food

All that Colombian artist Juana Medina needs to make these whimsical designs are a pen and a snack. The talented artist, who has received awards for her many wonderfully simple illustrations, likes to tell stories with her drawings. And, she certainly has a fun time with it. The artist says, "Most of my illustration work relies on very simple traces and economic—but expressive—use of line. I like using ink and gouache color sparingly. Simplicity is very important to me. My design and animation work rely a little more on color and line, but humor and lightheartedness tend to be a constant."

The High Price Of Fame.
18 apr 2013 17:22

Findings of a new international study revealed that people who enjoy successful entertainment or sporting careers tend to die younger. Researchers Richard Epstein and Catherine Epstein said the study, based on analysing 1,000 New York Times obituaries from 2009-2011, found film, music, stage performers and sports people died at an average age of 77.2 years. Researchers said that earlier deaths could indicate that performers and sports stars took more risks in life, either to reach their goals or due to their success. And of course the more common notion was also discussed, such as smoking, drinking and drug habits which are often adapted and abused in the entertainment industry.
