In collaboration with CHI&Partners NY, New York PBS station Thirteen has launched a shrewd ad campaign that criticizes the current state of television. The campaign’s five posters advertise fake reality TV shows, with crazy names like Married to a Mime (“She’s got plenty to say.”) and Bad Bad Bag Boys (“Clean up on every aisle.“), and will appear in New York City subways until the end of June 2013.

Benjamin Grelle, also known as The Frogman, has created “Warp Dogs,” hilarious photos of dogs hanging out of car windows that have digitally manipulated to make it look like they’re traveling through space at warp speed.

A few days ago storm chaser Brandon Ivey recorded this jaw-dropping video from inside a violent tornado in Smith County, Kansas. Ivey recorded the video alongside film director Sean Casey as their armored storm chasing truck, Tornado Intercept Vehicle 2, was engulfed by winds of up to 175 MPH. The seven-ton TIV 2 was designed by Casey to capture up-close footage of tornadoes and is equipped with metal and composite armor plate, bullet resistant windows, an IMAX camera turret, and wind skirts and anchoring devices that prevent it from being blown away. The storm reportedly tore instrumentation from the roof of the truck and breached the hull in two locations.

Ogden, Utah-based Graeme Abraham, owner of the Etsy store GreenCüb, has repurposed a collection of recognizable video game controllers as useful desk organizers (Nintendo 64, GameCube, Xbox 360 and PlayStation). Each controller comes equipped with a three foot gold-plated USB extension, action buttons or joysticks replaced with pen slots and a magnetic paperclip holder.

A suspicious letter that was sent to the the White House and addressed to President Barack Obama was intercepted by the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force for investigation. Researchers from the Northeast Federal University in Yakutsk found a well preserved 10,000-year-old female mammoth carcass buried in ice on the Lyakhovsky Islands. When scientists poked the frozen body with a pick dark blood flowed out, which shocked everyone. "The fragments of muscle tissues, which we've found out of the body, have a natural red color of fresh meat. The reason for such preservation is that the lower part of the body was underlying in pure ice," said Semyon Grigoriev, the head of the expedition and of the university's Mammoth Museum. How exciting is that? May be we'll get to see a live mammoth after all. Cloning could be on the way.

He gained exclusive access to Oregon Sate Hospital to documentary their now desolate asylum wing last used in 1970. What he found, as you’re about to see, was as chilling as it was intriguing. Along with several unsettling autopsy bays he found a bizarre archive where the decaying remains of past inmates were still in their canisters, dating back as far as the nineteenth century.
