Awhile back we posted a Star Trek bloopers compilation. Unfortunately that video was pulled, and we only have the GIFs below to remember them by. But on the bright side, Paramount has released a new blooper reel to promote the first Blu-ray release of Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s fourth season. The Blu-ray is out tomorrow if you want to mount your furniture Riker-style and re-watch it. We get to peek at a few scenes going off the rails, and it’s great to see Patrick Stewart, Michael Dorn and company having a little fun back in the day. Considering how melodramatic the show could get at times, these clips are all the more surreal. Anti-smoking ads have gotten more creative throughout the years, and a bit odd as well. Here's a collection of 10 "wtf", graphic, confusing, and some legit ads from around the world, for you to ponder about.

A former comedian turned counselor JC Shakespeare uploaded a video to YouTube this weekend. In it, he and three other performers — including a 19-year-old Patton Oswalt — do stand-up as part of an infomercial on student loans in 1990. Shakespeare says, “This was my first paid gig as an actor, and perhaps it was for Patton as well. Patton had the tenacity and persistence to work his butt off (I didn’t), and I have immense respect for how far his talent and hard work have taken him.” Oswalt quickly confirmed what we could already tell: it was him. In a snazzy sweater vest, no less. He adds that it was his first acting gig, for which he was paid $300.

The crumbling of the USSR has left behind hundreds of monuments and artifacts which were never finished. The scale of some of these constructions and the man power invested into them is truly a grand sight, but a sad one as well. The bright future never arrived for the hopeful people. “Hash” Ashish Patel is a fine art portrait artist working mostly with pencils and charcoal. Hailing from New Jersey, the artist has nearly 120,000 followers on Instagram where he shares much of his artwork. In a short-lived series, Patel used graphite and white-colored pencils to draw incredible portraits onto $1 and $5 US bills.

French illustrator Grégoire Guillemin has taken his love of superheros and added a bold new twist to the art form. Rather than showcasing them in the midst of battle or fusing supervillains with their modern-day equivalents or even perhaps incorporating them into historical artworks, he’s simply decided to reveal their intimate and private lives. His illustrative series titled ‘Secret Life of Heroes’literally pops out of the screen at you, not only because of his bold colour set but also because of the illustrations themselves… Batman and Robin get it on, Snow White kicks back with a cigarette, Wonder Woman seductively sucks on a banana and all whilst Catwoman indulges on some girl on girl action with Poison Ivy.
