In this cute video, made by comedian Kevin Maher, little kids attempt to undertake a Nathan’s-style hot dog eating contest in Coney Island. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), things don’t go so well. Unlike what happens when we let our nephew eat as many hot dogs as he could, none of these children ate eight hot dogs and then threw up. One of them does run away though. If you like the idea of hot dog eating contests, but the actual practice of eating sixty franks makes you question whether or not the human race even deserves to still be on planet Earth, this is the video for you.
A sopping wet Colin Firth might be attractive to some, but an ENORMOUS, fiberglass sopping wet Colin Firth is attractive to nobody. In fact, some people are calling the giant statue of Firth as Mr. Darcy from ‘Pride and Prejudice’ “unsettling” and “kind of creepy.” The statue has been put in Serpentine lake in London’s Hyde Park to promote the launch of UKTV’s new Drama channel, which will air high-profile dramas from the UK, such as the 1995 adaptation of ‘Pride and Prejudice,’ which inspired the statue. That’s right — the statue is inspired by the TV version of the book, since the scene itself wasn’t actually in Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice.’ Adding one more level of absurdity to the statue — Colin Firth emerging soaking wet from the lake wasn’t even in the scene that wasn’t in the book. It’s a vision that exists solely in the imaginations of the types of people who like to imagine Colin Firth emerging soaking wet from a lake. Here’s the scene in question, just to confirm how strange this statue is, before it takes off on a tour of the UK (yes, really).
Ever since Netflix entered our lives, the internet movie business has pretty much put all other movie businnesses to shame. Literally. They've gone bankrupt. However, those of us old enough to remember the good old days of VHS rentals at the local Blockbuster remember what a fun adventure it was to troll around the horror section of the movie rental store. Those of us with awesome childhoods actually spent time watching these with out parent consent sometimes! These terribly bad horror movie VHS covers are a reminder of how awesome movie experiences can be. Something Netflix will never be able to accomplish with their aesthetic, digital media and they're little red envelopes in the mail. Let's take a trip to memory lane.

French illustrator Grégoire Guillemin has taken his love of superheros and added a bold new twist to the art form. Rather than showcasing them in the midst of battle or fusing supervillains with their modern-day equivalents or even perhaps incorporating them into historical artworks, he’s simply decided to reveal their intimate and private lives. His illustrative series titled ‘Secret Life of Heroes’literally pops out of the screen at you, not only because of his bold colour set but also because of the illustrations themselves… Batman and Robin get it on, Snow White kicks back with a cigarette, Wonder Woman seductively sucks on a banana and all whilst Catwoman indulges on some girl on girl action with Poison Ivy. It’s a vivid blast of colourful, sexy and irreverent fun – best of all, you can get your hands on these artworks (and many more) for under $30 via Greg’s Society6 page. Trust us, your walls will thank you for it.

The Marvel Unlimited app seems perfect. Ten bucks a month and you get most of the Marvel Comics catalogue from the beginning of time all the way to six months ago. Unfortunately, bugs and glitches relegated it to being an exercise in annoyance until its newest update about a month ago finally made things more functional. When you finally get to the app, the unending selection may seem overwhelming (even with a pretty nifty search engine), so I'm here to help you grab nine series to binge read. Every series run here runs at least about 30 issues deep so you can occupy your summer of sh*tty TV shows and *gulp* baseball with some quality comic reading. These are also good jumping-on series to get your friend or girlfriend who's not into comics yet introduced. So there you go.
