Jimmy Fallon: Rap Lyrics For Super Mario Brothers Theme
20 jun 2013 15:26
It’s video game week over on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and although Howard Stern hates it and doesn’t understand how Jimmy Fallon could get elevated to The Tonight Show, Fallon knows what he’s doing. Case in point: During Fallon’s Suggestion Box segment, someone suggested that there be lyrics for the “Super Mario Brothers” Theme. The Roots’ Black Thought was more than happy to provide them, and they are STUPENDOUS.

The 11 Hottest Women in Adam Sandler Movies
20 jun 2013 15:23
It must be nice being Adam Sandler. You make millions of dollars to hang out with your friends on film, you can constantly dress like a toddler on a play date, and you own the production company that makes your movies so can cast hot girls as your romantic interests. For such a low standard of comedy, it’s actually quite a genius idea. Let’s go through his career and look at the top 12 Adam Sandler love interests. These aren’t ranked by present day, just by their character in the movie.

5 “Crazy” Movie Characters Who Turn Out to be Heroes
20 jun 2013 15:10
In recent years, Hollywood has become a lot more sensitive to addressing mental illness, homelessness and aging in movies. Back in the magical and mystical ’90s (and even the early 2000s) though, it was kinda “anything goes.” Here are five pretty ridiculous examples of “crazy” movie characters who turn out to be awesome, helpful people, and sometimes even heroes.

Wu-Tang’s ASL Interpreter Stole the Show at Bonnaroo
20 jun 2013 14:58
We’ve finally figured out our dance move for summer wedding season. We’re just going to learn sign language and do animated ASL translations of every song. It’s working for this lady, who translated for Wu-Tang Clan and R. Kelly, as well as hopping onstage for Matt & Kim to answer some sign language questions for them. The video is probably NSFW, since it’s the Wu-Tang Clan, who aren’t exactly known for their squeaky clean content, but the sound is so distorted that it’s sort of hard to discern what they’re saying. So, you know, just use your best discretion.

Tumblr Shows Hipsters Took Fashion Cues fom Jackie on ‘Rosenanne’
20 jun 2013 14:56
‘Roseanne’ is arguably one of the greatest sitcoms of all time for a variety of reasons, but a big part of its success can be traced back to the character Jackie Harris. Why? Well for starters, she’s a fashion icon. No, seriously– lots of today’s trends exist because of her. Don’t believe us? Then head on over to the ‘Hipsters Who Dress Like Jackie from Roseanne’ Tumblr Basically, it’s hilariously accurate proof that hipsters are, in fact, modern-day Jackies. See some of our favorites below:

10 Horribly Miscast Movie Roles
20 jun 2013 14:54
When an actor gives an authentic, believable performance, the results can be spectacular. But sometimes a star just doesn’t fit into a role no matter how much Hollywood tries to shoehorn them into the part of, say, young Anakin Skywalker. That doesn’t stop them from trying, however. The worst examples of miscasting are a master class in bad acting choices, cheap accents and cringe-inducing line deliveries. Whatever the reason, there are plenty of terribly miscast roles throughout movie history. Here are 10 of the best. Er, worst. You get what we mean.

John Krasinski Makes Us Wish We Could Stay in ‘The Office’ All Day
20 jun 2013 14:43
Long-running NBC sitcom ‘The Office‘ may be over, but our love of star John Krasinski and his adorably aloof good looks will never end. After nine incredible seasons, ‘The Office’ finally came to an end this year. We were sad to say goodbye to so many of our favorite characters, but we were absolutely beside ourselves to let go of star John Krasinski, who played the adorable and goofy Jim Halpert for the entire run of the show. As Jim, Krasinski gave us his signature shrug and silly faces, and we watched him grow from aimless office prankster to full-fledged man (who still occasionally liked to pull one over on Dwight). In real life, Krasinski is married to one of the most beautiful actresses in the world: Emily Blunt, star of ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ and ‘Looper.’ Looking at these two together, their combined beauty is almost obnoxious. So what’s next for Krasinski now that ‘The Office’ is over? More movies, of course. You can catch him next week as the voice of one of many animated monsters in Pixar’s ‘Monsters University.’ He also starred in two films last year — ‘Promised Land’ and the excellent indie ‘Nobody Walks.’

Try This Trend: Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian and More Do Topknots
20 jun 2013 14:39
The ballerina topknot is perfect for summer since it’s an unfussy updo that keeps your neck cool and hair out your face. The pretty trend works with fancy attire (if you’re going to an outdoor, summer wedding) or casual clothes (for when you’re out running errands). And as you’ll see here, Taylor Swift was recently a dressy bunhead, while Kim Kardashian kept it more casual. The bun can be situated on the crown or piled high in the center of one’s head, so it’s a universal style that anyone can wear.

‘The Killing’ Star Joel Kinnaman Is Killing Us With Cuteness
20 jun 2013 14:36
Every Sunday night on AMC, Joel Kinnaman‘s Detective Holder tries to solve and prevent heinous crimes on ‘The Killing.’ If only all detectives were this fun to look at. Actor Joel Kinnaman hails from Sweden, where he starred in films like ‘Snabba Cash’ before making his way to the US and becoming a mainstay with his role on the AMC serial drama ‘The Killing.’ On that show, he plays a laid-back guy with a little street cred thanks to his days of being a troublemaker. And this season, he gets to use that experience to connect with homeless teens — and hopefully save a girl’s life before it’s too late. You might have also seen this scruffy actor (minus the scruff) in last year’s ‘Lola Versus,’ in which he played Greta Gerwig‘s fiance, who dumps her right before their big wedding. Surprisingly, he’s really not a jerk in the movie, and he takes off his shirt sometimes — bonus. Next up for Kinnaman is a role in the ‘RoboCop‘ reboot, in which he plays a robot cop who delivers some serious justice to a corrupt town. In real life, Kinnaman is dating actress Olivia Munn, which is just about the opposite of justice, if you think about it. (Life is so unfair.)

Johnny Depp Finally Talks About His Split from Vanessa Paradis
20 jun 2013 14:35
Johnny Depp split from long-time girlfriend (and the mother of his two children) Vanessa Paradis back in June of 2012, but in the year since, he’s been pretty mum about the whole thing — until now. “The last couple years have been a bit bumpy. At times, [it was] certainly unpleasant, but that’s the nature of breakups, I guess, especially when there are kiddies involved,” Depp told the new issue of Rolling Stone. “Relationships are very difficult. Especially in the racket that I’m in, because you’re constantly away or they’re away, and so it’s hard,” he revealed. “It wasn’t easy on her. It wasn’t easy on me. It wasn’t easy on the kids.” The good news is that the former couple’s children — 14-year-old Lily and 11-year-old Jack — have remained a top priority during the split. “You’ll always know each other, and you’re always gonna be in each other’s lives because of those kids. You might as well make the best of it,” Depp said, going on to explain that making sure his son and daughter were okay was of utmost concern to him. “They’ve been incredibly understanding. Incredibly strong throughout the whole ordeal.” You can read the whole interview in the new Rolling Stone when it hits newsstands (or your iPad) on July 4th.

Miley Cyrus Cusses a Paparazzo Who Asks If She’s Pregnant
20 jun 2013 14:29
Miley Cyrus was leaving a doctor’s appointment in Beverly Hills to deal with a reported case of laryngitis when she was swarmed by photographers who wanted to know how she was feeling — and one in particular who wanted to know if she was knocked up. (Because if celebrities are sick, they must be in the family way?) But Miley found her voice enough to let the woman know how she felt about that question — in no uncertain terms. “No, I’m f—ing sick, you bitch,” she snapped, to which the journalist snottily shot back, “Oooh, love you Miley!” Cyrus then gets into a car, and as it drives away, you can hear what sounds like the same reporter yelling “bitch!” twice. The driver — apparently a pal of Miley’s — later drops her off and goes to pick up medicine for her messed up throat. How do we know this? Because the paps followed her friend to CVS. Hey, it’s a living.

‘The Lone Ranger’ Video Includes Johnny Depp’s Near-Death Experience
20 jun 2013 14:22
When actor/suspected chameleon Johnny Depp went on ‘The Late Show With David Letterman’ back in February to promote his film ‘The Lone Ranger,’ he told a harrowing tale of a near-death experience he had while riding his horse. Or rather, not riding his horse. Now, thanks to a new featurette for the movie, “that time Johnny Depp was convinced he was going to die” is on video for public consumption. Way to be, Disney. (No, really, this was Disney’s idea.) In the scene, you can see Johnny — in full-on Native American regalia — fall off his horse and then drop under the animal’s hooves, getting trampled in the process. Ever the showman, Depp later reveals the hoof marks on his chest and then makes a joke about the whole experience, expressing how grateful he was that his coccyx made it through the encounter intact. The horse, on the other hand, feels just awful about the whole thing, we’re sure.

Model and Actor Douglas Booth Is Your New Romeo
20 jun 2013 14:20
Once upon a time, there was a sexy, pouty model named Douglas Booth. One day, this charming young man decided to become an actor, and now he’s going to be playing Romeo in the new ‘Romeo and Juliet’ movie. And we lived swoon-ily ever after! British model and actor Booth’s father is English and his mother is of Dutch and Spanish descent, which might explain his beautiful and sort of exotic looks. Dude’s all sexy angles — it’s like looking at a really hot geometry problem. Booth has done campaigns for Burberry, alongside fellow lovelies like Emma Watson. He also starred in a few BBC productions, including the 2011 mini-series adaptation of Charles Dickens’ ‘Great Expectations,’ before debuting stateside in the 2012 indie flick ‘LOL’ with Miley Cyrus. Not a great introduction, but apparently it was enough to attract attention from all the right people, because now he’s starring in the new movie version of William Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ — as Romeo, obviously. And he kind of reminds you of a young Leonardo DiCaprio in a way, yeah? The hair, the pout, and cheekbones, for sure. He’ll also star in ‘Black Swan’ director Darren Aronofsky‘s latest film, ‘Noah,’ and in ‘Jupiter Ascending,’ from the team that brought you ‘The Matrix’ and ‘Cloud Atlas.’ Some pretty impressive jobs, for sure.

We Wanna Do Real Bad Things with ‘True Blood’ Star Ryan Kwanten
20 jun 2013 14:18
‘True Blood‘ returned to HBO this week with a brand new season (its sixth), which means tons of brand-new shirtless Ryan Kwanten as the lovable dope Jason Stackhouse. Amen. What is it about ‘True Blood’? It’s this really trashy soapy vampire show about country folk in Louisiana dealing with supernatural people — and like, it’s just so hard to believe that SO much supernatural crap happens in this tiny Louisiana town. Werewolves, fairies, vampires, shape-shifters, witches, and what’s next? Leprechauns?! Come on. But I can’t stop watching this crazy show, even though most of the time I think it’s stupid. Maybe Ryan Kwanten is why I can’t stop watching this show. As Jason Stackhouse, brother to Sookie, we watch him run around shirtless or naked, just making really bad decisions about who he has sex with. And I am so okay with this. Jason thinks with his, uh — well he’s not thinking with his head, that’s for damn sure. But in the last two seasons we’ve seen a more confident and slightly less ignorant version of Jason emerge. Hopefully this doesn’t mean he has to stop taking his shirt off. Check out some sexy pics of this ‘True Blood’ star below, and make sure you tune in to HBO every Sunday for more shirtless Jason Stackhouse.

Rihanna Smacked a Grabby Fan With Her Microphone In England [VIDEO]
20 jun 2013 13:39
It seemed some of that Chris Brown aggression may have rubbed off on Rihanna on Sunday, June 16, when she whacked a fan with her mic mid-song during a concert. RiRi, in Birmingham during the UK leg of her Diamonds world tour, took a detour through the crowd during a performance when an overzealous fan grabbed hold of the singer and held on for dear life. Try as she might to keep walking, Rih couldn’t escape the person’s iron grip — and rather than let her security detail handle it, she eventually turned to strike the subject with her magical glittery microphone, breaking their hex on her. According to the New York Daily News, Rihanna had good aim and hit the concertgoer’s “face or head.” Ouch. (To add insult to injury, the singer allegedly started the show two hours late, too.) Ri’s camp is giving radio silence. But if history is any indicator, we already know she’s unapologetic.

Reality Sucks
20 jun 2013 13:24
In an often contrived way, movies are completely unrealistic. In fact, certain scenes are obviously created to warm your heart or make you cry. Well, we can't blame the movie studios because, most of the time, reality sucks. Agency Duval Guillaume made light of this fact and created these hilarious ads for Utopolis Cinemas. See how they put their own spin on famous scenes from Titanic and Free Willy.

Easy as pie
20 jun 2013 12:52

Many of us have heard the expressions "cool as a cucumber" or "easy as pie." In this playful collection of food art, London-based designer Christine Kawasaki-Chan took those phrases to the next level, creating a series in which each food idiom comes to life right before our eyes. The artist created compositions that naturally blend her incredible lettering skills with a variety of delicious foods pairings. Using basic items like bread, cucumbers, and pie crust as her unique canvas, Kawasaki-Chan produced perfectly scripted, edible letters. The first few words of the idioms are formed out of the toasted impressions on the surface of bread, the delicate curls of a cucumber peel, and the perfectly carved crusts of a baked pie. Viewers are left to complete the sentence on their own using the context clues and their knowledge of the English language. The artist's clever word play is a gorgeous display of typography in the form of deliciously appealing snacks.

The Secret Life of Plastic Toy Animals
20 jun 2013 12:49
Just what do our kids' plastic toy animals do when we're not looking? Photographer Jeff Friesen has the answer. His adorable series takes a look at their secret life inside our homes! Like many projects, this one started out as a personal project, one dedicated to the photographer's daughter. Looking to decorate his daughter's room with some fun animal prints, Friesen decided to create these. His friends and family loved them so much that they urged him to start selling them online. As a nice accompaniment, the photographer includes a short story with each one. For instance, for the birthday cake-loving hippo he states, "Hugo was a model of self-restraint in many aspects of life. In fact, he restrained himself from piano practice every day. Surely no one would notice if He took one small bite of his sister's birthday cake. Just one tiny bite!" See more of our favorites, below. (Got to love his bright wallpaper backgrounds.)

You’ve seen couples trying to match each other by just wearing clothes with the same colors and designs – sometimes it works and sometimes it just looks lame and boring. Adam and Sarah from San Francisco, CA, is a couple on Kickstarter that’s trying to change the way couples “match” each other with t-shirts that make sense only when the pair wears them next to each other. The designs are about love, sometimes abstract and sometimes not, but they all play on the simple concept that they have to be worn together for the meaning to be truly understood.
