Brooklyn-based sculptor, photographer, illustrator and mother Nina Levy has been using colored markers to draw pop culture characters on lunch napkins for her two sons (Archer & Ansel) on a daily basis for over six years. According to Nina, she has created around 2,000 custom napkins.

NBA center Jason Collins has become the first male U.S. athlete in a major professional sport to come out as gay. Jason tells Sport Illustrated:

"I didn't set out to be the first openly gay athlete playing in a major American team sport. But since I am, I'm happy to start the conversation. I wish I wasn't the kid in the classroom raising his hand and saying, 'I'm different.' If I had my way, someone else would have already done this. Nobody has, which is why I'm raising my hand."

Women are their own worst beauty critics. Did you know that only 4% of women around the world consider themselves beautiful. At Dove, they are committed to creating a world where beauty is a source of confidence, not anxiety. So, they decided to conduct a compelling social experiment that proves to women that they are more beautiful than they think. Dove hired a FBI sketch artist to draw seven women as they described themselves from behind a curtain. Then, someone else is asked to describe the same woman and the sketch artist completes another drawing.

Every one who’s ever tried feeding a baby knows how important it is to make the food look nice and funny – especially if it’s broccoli or porridge… This is because the looks of your food constitutes a great part of the overall pleasure of eating. We're always big fans of up-and-coming teen photographers here on My Modern Met, but 14-year-old photographer Zev (aka fiddle oak) has got to be one of the youngest talents we've ever come across. The Natick, Massachusetts-based teen photographer's portfolio exhibits skills beyond his years.
