We all know the drinking a coffee first thing in the morning, will increase your energy levels with its caffeine boost. But how exactly does it work? And does it really give you a greater ability to focus? If you didn’t have a cup of coffee before starting work, would you be less productive? And just how addictive is caffeine? And what about beer? We recently looked at how beer actually saved the world, but that aside, is there any truth in the rumour that drinking beer actually makes you MORE creative? Surely not? Well, you might be surprised. The folks over at I Love Coffee have created this neat infographic which shows you the benefits and shortfalls of drinking both coffee and beer – remember people, everything in moderation!

Ted Mosby: man whore. That’s according to the team at the Daily Beast, who put together a compilation of Schmosby’s many sexual exploits over the course of How I Met Your Mother, as told by the Mother to their kids. The video also insinuates that he’s a bad father, but we’ll get to that. As for the slut part: nope. Someone with a lot of time on their slap-betted-out hands deduced that over a 15-year span, Ted dated 31 women and had sex with 20 of them, including personal favorite Natalia. Those numbers might be a little high, based on false preconceived notions of “right” and “wrong” promiscuity, but they’re not at all unreasonable for a 30-something living in New York City. I’m sure the equally invidious Ross Gellar was nearly as successful in making women regret their life choices, to say nothing of the walking mistake that is Barney Stinson. But we’ll get to that.

If you haven’t eaten sushi before, you really should give it try. Not only it is delicious, it’s incredible healthy for you, low in fat and high in essential oils and vitamins. For centuries the Japanese have been eating sushi (raw seafood) but those easy bite size sushi rolls that many of us partake in today, first stated in Edo, Japan somewhere around the middle of the 19th century. At the time, they were seen as the ultimate fast-food, you could carry around a healthy snack without the need for plates and cutlery. In America it was the trusty chicken nugget, in Japan it was the nigiri and maki rolls – and fortunately NOT kittens, as this hilarious ad might cause you to believe.

Deviant Art user Nabhan has created a series of illustrations in which many of these objects double up as puns. For instance, one of the illustrations shows a man who has taken away the “control” button on the keyboard, alluding to the more figurative idea of “taking contol” of one’s life. FX has released another trailer for American Horror Story: Coven and it's the first to feature the main cast of the series. It's called "Initiation," and it includes Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Taissa Farmiga, and Evan Peters. I've always had a fascination with the supernatural history of witches, and this is sure to be a really great third season. Enjoy the latest trailer! Comic artist J. Scott Campbell loves to draw the Disney Princesses, and here's a nice little set that features Ariel The Little Mermaid & Ursula the Sea Witch, Snow White & The Evil Queen, and Princess Aurora & Maleficent the Sorceress. If you’re anything like me, you were completely oblivious to this weekend’s U.S. Open action, because you were busy laughing at Lane Kiffin’s coaching ineptitude on Saturday and then cursing Stevan Ridley’s stupid clumsy hands on Sunday. Much more important those inconsequential tidbits, however, is the fact that Kate Upton took in some U.S. Open action on Saturday, as she was a guest in the Moet & Chandon Suite with Karolina Kurkova. It was part of a whirlwind weekend for the 2013 Model of the Year and With Leather’s Eternal Greatest Celebrity Sports Fan in the World, as she also attended the Daily Front Row's First Fashion Media Awards. Star Wars: Episode III was in my opinion the best of the prequel trilogy even though Darth Vader's Frankenstein "Noooooooooooooooo!" moment was absolutely ridiculous. Concept artist Sangjun Lee has released a really cool collection of concept art from the film showing off several awesome designs done for the production of the film. Love them or hate them, the prequels still looked great visually, and the art created for it is beautiful. Check out some of it below!

"Justin Timberlake and his former *NSYNC band members are set to reunite for a special performance on the VMAs Sunday night at the Barclays Center, sources tell Page Six. MTV announced that Timberlake, who topped the charts in the late ’90s with the band, will perform at the VMAs and receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. But we’re told former bandmates J.C. Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick are scheduled to join him onstage for a reunion performance." --MTV news. It was nice of Manager Jerry to let Chris Kirkpatrick take a day off from his shift at Arby’s to attend the ceremony. He’ll just have to pull double sometime next week. Those toilets ain’t gonna un-clog themselves.

It’s time to head back to school…did you get all your supplies? You know, the knives and fake severed feet and pregnancy tests? These back-to-school specials are clearly for people who know how to live (or at least how to drink too much and make questionable decisions due to impaired judgment). One thing’s for certain — if you stocked up on all these sales, you’d have a semester you’d never forget (assuming you could remember it).

If you want to experience an exotic tropical holiday, have you ever thought about going to Germany? There an artificial sea, a long man-made beach and the climate is kept at a perfect 26c all year round – not overly hot, not overly cold. They’ve even take a leaf out of las Vegas’s habit of appropriating historic monuments but recreating Cambodia’s Angkor Wat and traditional Thai homes. And along with not having to worry about the weather, you don’t even have to worry about things like closing times either – the centre is open 24/7. Fancy a swim at 3am? No problem, just remember you’re unlikely to be alone, the pool itself can hold up to 8,000 enthusiastic swimmers. Would you be keen to go along for a day or two? You can make a booking right here, oh and don’t forget to pack your sunglasses.

Between open mic comedy and being at The Gathering this past weekend, I think I could go six more lifetimes without hearing someone expecting to be applauded for doing drug use ever again (The Kottonmouth Kings enjoy marijuana – who knew?). But this Supercut, “Drugs in the Movies,” by Robert Jones, is so well put together that you can’t help but enjoy the hell out of it. It’s got all your favorites – Fast Times, Fear and Loathing, Go, Boogie Nights – and extra mega bonus points for including Tim Meadows’ speech in Walk Hard, one of the most underrated and underquoted comedy performances of the last 10 years. I seriously don’t know why that guy isn’t a huge star. Way to go, Obama.

Batten down the cumberhatches: Benedict Cumberbatch is at war with the press, ironically over a situation that could lead to war. Now, I’m sure all you High Brow Harrys and Liberal Arts Lisas have been following the situation in Egypt, so I don’t need to explain it to you; that would be demeaning and insulting to your intelligence. Cumberbatch has no such qualms: while filming Sherlock over the weekend, Cumberbatch wrote a tut-tut-shaming note directed at the paparazzi that read, “Go photograph Egypt and show the world something important.”

It's almost unfair how good Patton Oswalt is at Twitter. I mean, he's good at most things (that talented jerk), from delivering Star Wars-inspired filibusters to packing Go Bags, but he's ESPECIALLY good at Twitter. A little over a month after shaming Salon, Oswalt spent a good chunk of yesterday afternoon trolling his quick to react Followers, with a number of tweets that look damning...until you read them in context. For instance, the tweet you see above, about Hitler rightfully killing off the Jews — that looks pretty bad, until you realize it comes after, "Oh, you think repealing voting laws in the south is justified, you racist asshole? I suppose you ALSO believe that..." A typical reply: "How is it racist to only want U.S. citizens to be able to vote for people who will represent U.S. citizens?" Fantastic. Recently, Game Freak announced a pretty awesome addition to the gameplay of their next Pokémon games (X Version and Y Version) : Mega Evolutions. These are mid-battle transformations that basically just make your Pokémon a lot more badass. Despite the name, they're actually not evolutions at all--just really cool forms that some Pokémon can now access. Naturally, within days of the announcement, fans started churning out some really cool art of the seven revealed Mega Pokémon. Here are some of my favorites that I've seen.

Despite its three-and-a-half star rating on Yelp, Sava! Italiano was not a success. The Amarillo, TX-based Italian restaurant recently shut down, according to a closure notice outside the building, which reads in full: "You sorry assed, rednecked sacks of goat sperm had no idea what you had here! Since 2007, Jack Nicholson, one of the greatest actors of all-time, a man who once considered no amount of cocaine unsnortable and still believes no woman is unattainable, has only appeared in two movies: The Bucket List and 2010's mawkish How Do You Know. Unfortunately, the latter might be his last. According to Radar, the 76-year-old Nicholson is retiring from acting because of "memory issues." ("A redhead named Alice? Freckles? And she's pregnant? I don't recall sleeping with anyone with that name.")
