'Guardians Of The Galaxy' Casts Lee Pace. Elk Rides For Everyone!
29 apr 2013 13:46
Lee Pace majestically rode an Irish Elk into our hearts as Thranduil in The Hobbit. He was also one of the actors who auditioned to play Star-Lord in Guardians Of The Galaxy. According to The Wrap, Marvel and director James Gunn were so impressed with Pace’s audition that they brought him back to audition for an unnamed villain. He’s reportedly in final negotiations for the role. If all goes well, Lee Pace will be the villain in a cast which includes Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Michael Rooker as Yondu, the WWE’s Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, and Ophelia Lovibond as (maybe) an aide to The Collector. Whichever villain he’s playing, we’re sure he’ll be tilting his head.

The Best Of 'Texts from Superheroes', A Superpowered Parody Site
29 apr 2013 13:54
Texts From Superheroes is a single-serving site which features snarky text messages between superheroes (and sometimes supervillains). The texts are created by internet comedian Diana McCallum and stand-up comedian Andrew Ivimey. They shed light on such superhero trivia as how Wonder Woman and Superman have sex, what Shocker's sidekick's name should be, and why Robin hates Halloween. Also, everyone's parents are dead. Especially Batman's. Below you'll find our 24 favorite texts out of the hundred or so at Texts From Superheroes. Thanks to Neatorama for the assist and LATFG for the cosplay picture above.

People Love Throwing Things At One Direction's Harry Styles
29 apr 2013 14:04
Back in February, One Direction fans around the world held their collective breath when a random fan threw a shoe at the stage during the boy band’s performance in Glasgow, and striking Harry Styles right in the bangers and mash. But as people wondered if the leader of One Direction would ever get another One Erection (trademarked joke) the girl responsible for this hilarious, I mean heinous act came forward and apologized, claiming: “I just wanted him to touch something belonging to me.” And thus, the future of the world grew even dimmer than we believed it could. But it turns out that this wasn’t an isolated act. It seems that people chucking things at Styles’ crotch is a bit of a pastime at One Direction shows and appearances, as it seems to happen quite often. At least often enough for someone to put together this GIF collection of Styles being hit by random objects.

What You Were Really Thinking While Watching "Les Miserables"
29 apr 2013 14:13
Let’s face it: Les Miz was a long, wonky film filled with way too many close ups and too many eyes rolls (at least from me) in the audience. It wasn’t that the film was bad, it was, like, totally good in a “I’m obsessed with musicals” kind of way. But one Tumblr honestly captions the film with what we were all thinking. Uh oh, Russell Crowe is here.

The people over at Big Car Rescue in Tampa sure know a fun way to celebrate Cinco De Mayo. They decided to let one of their leopards get to have some fun with a Pinata that looks like a toucan. They put some meat inside the Pinata hung it in the leopards cage and let the leopard go to work. I was surprised to see how long the pinata lasts. This is a pretty fun and funny video. Miley Cyrus Dishes to Elle UK About Life, Love and Liam
29 apr 2013 18:43
In a new interview, Miley Cyrus talked about how she and fiance Liam Hemsworth want to keep their relationship quiet now. Okay then. “We have a house together and dogs. It just seems right to be wearing this ring and to be committed,” Miley, 20, says in the June issue of Elle UK. (It feels right when she actually wears the ring, that is.) And why don’t they discuss their relationship publicly anymore? It’s simple. You jerks abused your Miley access privileges. “We were too nice to the world and gave them too much insight — into my life and my puppies and my house –- and I just don’t feel they get that privilege anymore,” she said. What?! No more puppy photos? But we love those! That’s not fair! Why does this … what’s that, Miley? You’ve got a new tweet?

Daniel Craig Makes Us So Glad James Bond Went Blonde
29 apr 2013 18:48
British actor Daniel Craig is so hot that he makes James Bond movies seem like they aren’t just for guys anymore. 007? More like 00Swoon. I’m not sure when I realized Daniel Craig was hot — okay, I’m lying. It wasn’t because of James Bond (sorry, not sorry). It was during ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ remake, when he stands up off the bed after a steamy night with Rooney Mara’s character and his tight little black underoos reveal just a little bit of butt business. I think I gasped audibly enough to embarrass every woman in that theater. (Again, sorry, not sorry.) Anyway, Daniel Craig is sexy, and hopefully you’re not like me and it didn’t take you 10 years to figure out what everyone else knew. Craig plays James Bond, obviously, and has done so in the last few 007 films, and will probably continue to do so until his teeth rot out. And we’re all totally cool with that. Craig is also now married to the beautiful actress Rachel Weisz, making them one of the prettiest couples in the entire world, and I’m sure their very British convos go something like: “Oi! What a lovely morning, milady, fancy a cup of tea?” “Yes we are so very beautiful, gov’nah!” “Crumpets! We’re sexy!” “Let’s go fancy some things in a loo!” “Cheerio!” Obviously my British is limited to Monty Python. Now let’s all stare at Daniel Craig for a while!

The Best Of The Confession Kid Meme Reminds Us We Were Stupid As Kids
30 apr 2013 11:00

The Confession Kid meme started late Friday night, caught on at Reddit, and exploded to about 2000 image macros of this regretful kid confessing things he used to believe. It struck a chord, in that all of us can admit we believed some really stupid things as a kid. Case in point: at age five my mom yelled, "You're going to be grounded when your father gets home!" at me just because I kind of, just slightly, set the dining room table on fire a little bit. I then ran out of the house screaming because I'd never heard the word "grounded" before and thought it meant I'd be buried alive. We believed weird things as kids. (Like that building a fire on the dining room table would be great for roasting marshmallows...) We've collected 25 of the funniest, most common, and most embarrassing admissions made by Confession Kid fans this weekend. All pictures via Quickmeme.

Harry Styles Spotted Smooching Rod Stewart’s Daughter Kimberly

On April 25, One Direction member Harry Styles was seen with music legend Rod Stewart, dining out with the ‘Do Ya Think I’m Sexy’ singer and his family — and reportedly macking on Stewart’s 33-year-old daughter Kimberly. Styles, 19, joined the clan for dinner in Los Angeles after seeing Rod in concert and left with the Stewarts when they exited in their Rolls Royce. Or at least tried to, what with the paparazzi refusing to move out of the way and all. Sources for TMZ say the couple were flirting and fooling around the entire meal. Celebuzz concurs, saying the duo were spotted kissing and holding hands.

Twin Movies: A History of Two Similar Films Out at the Same Time.

People like to complain about how there is nothing original being made in Hollywood anymore. Between sequels, remakes and ripoffs, there is hardly anything that hasn't been done. This gallery adds further proof to that. As you will see, often there are two movies that come out around the same time with very similar plots. So let's take a look back at cinema history and compare 30 "twin movies" to see how they did head-to-head.

We’ve Fallen Into Cillian Murphy’s Eyes and We Can’t Get Out
30 apr 2013 16:00

Irish actor Cillian Murphy is gorgeous — like, he-could-be-a-model gorgeous. But the prettiest thing about him has to be those eyes. We just can’t help but get lost in them. You may recognize Cillian Murphy from, well, a lot of movies — in ’28 Days Later’ (where you see him completely naked, hello), he plays Jim, a guy trying to survive in the aftermath of a viral apocalypse. In the ‘Dark Knight’ films, he plays Jonathan Crane, aka the Scarecrow, a bad dude who uses hallucinogenic drugs when he plays doctor. And in ‘Inception,’ he plays the son of a billionaire and the key to destroying his father’s empire for the competition. Up next for Murphy is a starring role in ‘Interstellar,’ a sci-fi movie from the cinematographer who worked on Christopher Nolan‘s films with Murphy previously (‘The Dark Knight’ trilogy and ‘Inception,’ notably). I’m pretty stoked about it, and you should be too because this movie is going to blow some minds, for sure. Murphy is an incredible and fascinating actor, and one who, in my mind at least, doesn’t get enough attention or credit for his understated performances — or for his good looks, for that matter. He’s a gorgeous dude with intensely beautiful eyes. The kind of guy who could totally be a model if he wanted to, but let’s be glad he’s got more going for him than good looks.

In a recent Web exclusive produced by the folks at TeamCoco, Willie Nelson shows off his questionable acting skills in an audition reel for Peter Jackson’s upcoming ‘Hobbit‘ sequel. During said video, Nelson recreates some of the memorable lines of the past films. He even goes so far as to add some dialogue of his own and rewrite one of his legendary songs. Granted, Willie might not be the perfect choice for Gandalf (or Magneto) but as he said, “Hell, I’m Willie Nelson!”

Camel Tries to Eat Little Girl and It’s Adorable

Quick – what do camels eat? This video shows they may have a hankering for little girls. While enjoying a drive-thru zoo in Kansas City, one family found itself fending off a camel when the creature decided to poke its head into the car and get a little too personal with the girl after the family ran out of food for the animal. To her credit, the girl seems remarkably calm, even as the camel tries to turn her into the catch of the day. Eventually, her dad drives away, leaving behind a funny memory — not to mention a still-hungry camel.

‘Games of Thrones’ Gets a ‘Friends’ Makeover
30 apr 2013 23:46
‘Game of Thrones‘ fans: BEWARE OF SPOILERS. In this video — which fuses some scenes from the hit HBO fantasy series with the fluff-filled ‘Friends’ opening of our yesteryear — we’re pleasantly reminded of how glad we are that ‘Game of Thrones’ didn’t come out during the ’90s. And while this isn’t the first ‘GoT’ opening theme mash-up we’ve seen, it might be the most well-timed, considering the moment of Ned Stark’s death occurs during the lyric “When it hasn’t been your day, your week, your month or even your year.” It’s not exactly the medieval score we’ve grown to love over the past three seasons but it’s not a bad way to spend 48 seconds of your life. And we’d have to agree with one YouTuber when they say that no on will ever be there for Joffrey.

What The Cast Of History's 'Vikings' Looks Like In Real Life
01 may 2013 12:51
If you weren’t watching the History Channel’s Vikings, which ended its first season on Sunday, you should’ve been, or at least you should now. It doesn’t match the level of complexity in Game of Thrones — the universe is smaller, there are fewer characters, and the plotting isn’t as dense — but it was a solid, if not sometimes spectacular drama that got progressively better over the course of the season. It began as a fairly straightforward look at the power of brute force — there was crunching violence, and lots of axe play — but by the end of the season, the politics also came into play, the villains (including Donal Logue) become more compelling, and the scheming began to take shape. I don’t want to spoil the show for those who haven’t seen it yet, but I seriously encourage you to check it out, especially if you like shows like Game of Thrones or other historical dramas (Vikings, obviously, plays fast and loose with history, but it’s rooted, at least, in Norse legend). You do not have to have seen the show, however, to appreciate the differences between what a character looks like on the show, and what the actor looks like in real life. It’s not always as striking as the Game of Thrones characters without their beards, but there are plenty of instances where the actor is virtually unrecognizable from his or her character. Let’s take a closer look at the cast below:

5 Questions About The 'Parks & Recreation' Porn Parody
01 may 2013 12:58
When we look back on this decade, say, twenty years down the road, two questions will probably jump out at us: One, how did it take us so long to come up with a taco that had been blasted with Dorito dust; and two, how THE HELL did it take us so long to come up with a porn parody of Parks & Recreation titled Porks & Recreation? I mean, both ideas have been right in front of our faces for so long. We should really be ashamed. But, for now, let’s focus on the present, and the fact that said Parks & Rec porn parody has finally been produced, thanks to the hard work of an adult film company named “Wood Rocket.” As you might imagine, the existence of this film raises a number of very important questions, which I have helpfully listed below the film’s SFW trailer. Enjoy.

When Comic Books Meet Super Hero Films
01 may 2013 13:27
Artist Billy the Butcher combines the artwork of Marvel Comics with screenshots from their popular film adaptions in a collection called “The Superhero Media Crossover Project.” “It’s easy to forget how much the comic stylings of the 60’s and 70’s have inspired modern films and just how timeless those two-dimensional, spandex-clad superheroes can be,” Billy writes on his website. “This series replaces live action with the lines they were born from, interlacing cinematography with storyboard.” The result blurs the line between film and comic books. Check out a few examples of his work below.

'Legion Of Supervillains' Imagines Real-Life Evil In Comic Books
01 may 2013 13:29
You had at me at Osama Bin Laden as Green Goblin. One of the more impressive illustrated projects out there today, be it Hiter-related or not, comes from Butcher Billy, who, in "The Legion of Supervillains," imagined what real-life bad guys, such as Stalin and Mark David Chapman, would look like as comic book evildoers. "Some might say all art is a reflection of the times we live in. If back in the day comics and movies were pretty naive and faced only as pure escapism, today's fiction has to evoke reality to create something truly meaningful... and frightening. This series is an experiment where a dictator, a psycho, a murderer (sometimes they are the whole package) or even a suspicious figure from real life is mashed with a comics bad guy - strangely related some way or the other with his counterpart." The depressing thing? Realizing that if the comic book supervillains were actually the ones threatening real life, the world wouldn't be such a bad place.
