Cats Barf to Techno Music, Internet to Close Up Shop
02 jul 2013 14:51
Well, someone has done. A YouTuber made a video of cats barfing set to techno music. Where can viral videos go from here? Time to close up shop, internet. There’s nowhere to go from here. But, seriously, good luck watching this video! No, seriously, good luck watching this — we aren’t sure how it ends. It was too gross for us. If you’re not totally disgusted by watching cats throw up, you’ll probably think this video, which syncs up cats retching to house music, to be the, uh, cat’s PJs. If you are totally disgusted by watching cats throw up, maybe this is not the video for you. Or maybe challenge yourself — how far can you get? (Our guess: not very.) Good luck!

Violent Plush Toys by Patricia Waller
02 jul 2013 14:05

You probably think of a plush toy as something very cute and soft you go to sleep with. Well, at least until you get to know Patricia Waller, a German based artist, born in Chile whose toys are a little bit different. “Due to the technique of crocheting – all my works are produced by myself in handicraft – and the selection of the subject-matter, my works seem harmless at first sight. But if you take a closer look, you will discover biting irony and a strong dose of nastiness.” says Patricia. The artist is interested in our fears and our ability to suppress them – that’s why Patricia plays with various themes that we usually ignore like fears of aging, illness and disability. When looking at the pictures, many people don’t realize that these toys are really huge - for instance the shark is almost 6.5ft (2 meters) long!

Mind-Boggling Gifs of Melting Portraits
02 jul 2013 12:31
It's one thing to allow paint to streak and drip down a canvas, but photographer Ben DeHaan creates the same trickling technique with photographs for his series titled Uncured. The photographer's portraits in the mind-boggling series seem as though they are melting right before your very eyes. How does he do it? It's actually created with an ordinary printer missing one key step. Traditional printers treat the image they are reproducing onto paper with UV light, a process that allows UV sensitive inks (typically used in commercial digital printing) to dry instantaneously and avoid messy blots and smudges. DeHaan says, "When uncured, the ink remains toxic and fluid. I am exploring the use of these printers without their essential element, UV light, in what I like to think of as a new process – UV uncurable inkjet printing perhaps?"

A Person Shockingly Inside Another Person
02 jul 2013 12:01
How outrageous is this Speak Like a Native ad campaign by Hakuhodo Indonesia advertising agency! With innovation at the heart of their operations, the company's creative team concocted this eye-catching concept by following the motto of "creative alchemy," where new ideas come from unexpected combinations. The bizarre series was developed to promote Berlitz Language School, a company that helps individuals, businesses, and organizations develop the language and cross-cultural skills necessary to succeed in an international world. The clever images—which are certainly quite shocking—suggest that there is a native speaker in all of us, we just have to let him or her come out through our words. With the titles Afrochina, Indijap, and Arabmerican, the campaign alludes to the fact that, by learning a new language at the Berlitz Language School, we can eventually "speak like a native."

Ministry: ‘From Beer to Eternity’ Shoot Highlights Seven Deadly Sins
01 jul 2013 16:53
Shortly before the death of guitarist Mike Scaccia, Ministry had begun work on their 13th studio album, ‘From Beer to Eternity.’ Having heard the album, we can diligently report that thanks in part to Mike, the record absolutely rips! But to introduce you to a part of ‘From Beer to Eternity,’ we’ve got an exclusive video premiere of the photo shoot for the record’s cover art and collection of promotional pictures. Oh yeah, and the footage is laced with some brand-new, never-before-heard ‘From Beer to Eternity’ Ministry material! Teaming up with photographer Allan Amato for the ‘From Beer to Eternity’ album art, Ministry recruited a gaggle of gorgeous women, only to turn them into monstrosities later on. The behind-the-scenes video begins innocently enough, but nearly a minute in, the shoot becomes disturbing as each women begins to personify each of the Seven Deadly Sins. “The Seven Deadly Sins is the intention and the women are not really women,” Ministry mastermind Al Jourgensen told us during an exclusive interview. “If you look at them, they’re not some hot models — I mean, they started out that way, but we completely mutated them just to parody the entire sexuality thing.” Ministry’s ‘From Beer to Eternity’ behind-the-scenes video also showcases how the album cover was created. The seven models were draped in a net in order to look caught, with Jourgensen himself acting as the captor. “I guess I’ll be taking some heat for being a misogynist by carrying seven women in a bag like they’re groupies or something,” Jourgensen tells us. “If I ever saw a groupie look like that on my bus, I guarantee my road manager would have them off the bus within a minute, so it’s not a sexual thing. [Laughs] And it’s certainly not misogynistic.” Stay tuned for our full interview with Jourgensen. The photo shoot captured some truly incredible and perhaps disturbing images. To check out footage from the shoot and hear bits and pieces of new Ministry material, watch the video above! ‘From Beer to Eternity’ is set for a Sept. 6 release.

Man Plays AC/DC on Flaming Bagpipes
01 jul 2013 15:22
For a funeral or Thanksgiving Day parade, bagpipes are great. But for a rock song? An Australian man will leave you thinking differently after watching his performance of AC/DC‘s ’Thunderstruck’ on the instrument. Making the whole thing even more awesome: The bagpipes shoot fire. Cam McAzie, a Perth native who has been playing for more than 15 years, is better known as the Badpiper. He’s released three albums (at least according to his Facebook page), including the recent ‘Burn,’ which includes his version of ‘Thunderstruck.’ The video has picked up quite a bit of attention — which seemingly confounds McAzie. “This viral video has spread so far and so wide,” he wrote on Facebook. “I’m not a very good tech guy, so if anyone has any info on how far this has reached please let me know. And a big welcome to all the new fans, welcome aboard!!” But it didn’t take long for him to embrace his new fame. “I WANT LETTERMAN!!!!!!!” he posted a mere 30 minutes later.

Adele’s New Tattoo Looks Oddly Familiar
01 jul 2013 13:04
Adele has some brand-new ink to add to her collection — and we’re pretty sure we’ve seen it before. The photo was shared on Thursday night by Bang Bang Tattoos in NYC, which captioned the snap, “The lovely adele came in to get tattooed today.” While the meaning of the tattoo — the word “Paradise” written across the side of her left hand — isn’t known, it’s suspiciously similar to a tat on singer Lana Del Rey, who also has the same word inked on the side of her left hand (which you can see below). Very interesting. Adele has three other tattoos — one on her left wrist dedicated to her mother Penny, three horizontal dots below it that she got with the Civil Wars’ Joy Williams, and an A behind her right ear that many believe is for her son, Angelo.

Comedian Ted Travelstead ‘Twins Talkin’ is the Funniest Thing on Vine
01 jul 2013 12:47
Well one of our favorite comedians and Twitter stars Ted Travelstead has created a series on Vine called ‘Twins Talkin,’ and they are the funniest thing since sliced bread. Which is hilarious, by the way. As the videos show, it’s pretty obvious that Ted isn’t really a twin; in most of the videos you can see his arm holding the camera. Each twin has its own unique and weird personality though, and we love them both. The “twins” seem to do everything together, from bathroom breaks to co-sleeping, and each new video adds another layer of hilarity to their strangely close relationship. Check out some of our favorite Vines in the series below. Follow Ted on Twitter and check out his Tumblr page to watch all 28 brilliant shorts. https://twitter.com/trumpetcake

Where Movie Prices Could Go After the $50 Mega Ticket
01 jul 2013 12:42
In an attempt to capitalize on the moment before the fervor of fandom surrounding ‘World War Z‘ began to fizzle out, Regal Cinemas offered a $50 “megaticket” that included a digital copy of the movie, a poster, a small popcorn and a pair of ‘World War Z’ 3D glasses, in addition to admission to the movie. Yup — $50 to see a Brad Pitt movie. The scariest part? They didn’t act like this was completely ridiculous. If somebody can charge $50 for a movie without batting an eye, then what comes next? The internet has come up with a few possible answers to that question. Here are a few “megaticket” packages for other summer movies. (Photoshops by Kristy Puchko)

Stylish Silver Skulls Used To House Wintry Landscapes
01 jul 2013 12:31
It’s not every day that you see human skulls used as a canvas for art, but Danish artist Frodo Mikkelsen isn’t afraid of the macabre. We should add they are actually moulds and not genuine skulls of those dearly departed. He crowns each skull with various wintry scenes of life in the countryside – cabins tucked away in the woods, abandoned shacks on a hill and even the odd curious grizzly bear having a poke around. His sculptures are as unique as they are unusual, filled with tiny details and intricate features, they vary between 22-25cm in height. Whether you’d want them on your mantlepiece at home is open to some debate but you can’t deny that they’d prove to be a terrific of a conversation starter. Let us know what you think by leaving a comment below and make sure you check out Mikkelsen’s other titles and works of art right here: http://www.frodomikkelsen.dk/publications.shtml

Channing Tatum has made several videos with Jimmy Kimmel for his show, ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live,’ to promote ‘White House Down,’ Tatum’s film with Jaime Foxx that is being released this weekend in theaters. The last one was a comedic rap song called “Channing All Over Your Tatum.” This is a sequel spoof for ‘White House Down’ called ‘Waffle House Down.’ The joke is that “waffle” and “white” both begin with the same letter. Whatever, if Channing Tatum takes off his shirt, we will probably watch it, at least on Netflix.
