Intricately-Detailed Landscape Drawings are Smaller Than a Pencil

Michigan-based artist Taylor Mazer recently crafted incredibly small drawings that are no larger than your average pencil. In December 2014, he used a fine-tipped Micron pen, straight-edge, and mechanical pencil to create intriguing monochromatic landscapes. They often feature urban structures like abandoned alleys and desolate buildings, but the artist sketches idyllic-looking mountain ranges, too. Mazer’s combination of pen and pencil does a fantastic job of setting a mood. The technique...

This Woman Turned A Regular Old Table Into An Incredible Glass Mosaic

It's amazing what people can make with simple, seemingly drab objects. With a little crafty know-how, things that seem normal or boring are turned into works of art. These are the kind of projects we really love to see, especially when the object is something we use every day and the result is awe-inspiring.

In the Tree Magic Folk Art Etsy store, wooden Mexican folk art sculptures of stylized animals come to life with vibrant colors and whimsical features. The sculptures are created by residents of Oaxaca, decorated with elements characteristic of folk art from the state —designs made of brightly colored dots and animals with exaggerated ears, tails and facial features. The artists carve the figures from copal wood and decorate them with acrylic paint. Most of the figures sell for between $100...

10 Medical Miracles

Modern medicine is truly amazing, but it can only go so far...usually. Injuries, illnesses, and conditions all come with a percentage attached to them, which signifies the likelihood that someone will survive them. A fall from 500 feet, for example, has around a 99.99999% mortality rate. But that's not 100%. So what about all the tiny fraction-of-a-percent cases where someone pulls through against all odds? Those are referred to as miracles. They might not be common, but, based on the...

Doing nice things for one another is an important part of being in a relationship. Of course, this means different things for different people. Some send flowers or write love notes, others buy jewelry or send their significant other out for a relaxing spa day. Whatever it is, taking time out of your busy schedule to do something special for the one you love is important. Every Year, These 3 Brothers Make A Giant Snow Sculpture

Austin, Connor and Trevor Bartz, three brothers living in New Brighton, Minnesota, love to create snow sculptures in their front yard every winter, but these aren’t your run-of-the-mill snowmen – this year, they created a detailed 12-foot-tall sea turtle! The boys begin their work by piling up snow into a crude pile, which they then carefully sculpt into their desired form over the course of several weeks. They’re quite devoted workers – this year’s sea turtle sculpture took them 300 hours!

Light Installation Inside Abandoned Building In Kaunas, Lithuania

There is this big abandoned building in our city that is stuck between shortage of money and bureaucracy things. It’s so big you can’t avoid it and it’s seen from everywhere. The whole city hates this ‘ghost’, as we call it. So as the proverb says “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade”, I decided to do something about this problem.

Luckily, we part ways with our siblings as we get older, just before we're on the brink of killing each other. This was something the Hilton sisters never had. Daisy and Violent were born conjoined at the hip. Rather than see this as a hindrance in life, they...

These Awesome Candles Will Add Spice To Any Room In Your House

Candles make for a nice addition to any home. They add quite a bit of ambiance and can really change the mood of a room. They also tend to smell quite good. Yet most candles appear to be slightly boring in terms of aesthetics. They don't really please the eye too well with their long stems and dull shapes. Fortunately for candle lovers, some people have taken it upon themselves to make the world of candles easier on the eyes.

From a distance, these simply look like bird statues, with jewel-like colors and curious expressions. Up close, though, the cute birds turn into breathtaking works of detailed mosaic art. Each one is "feathered" in a series of intricately arranged glass pieces, crystals, and metal. The eyes and beaks are also formed from larger glass pieces, and the mosaics are patterned to mimic the natural patterns of feathers.

Morris and Champy have been best friends now for over 2 years and not a day goes by without Morris going for a ride. Morris will go riding for hours and sit on Champy’s back when he’s grazing and walking about, he loves to ride him when I’m trying to do training. They certainly walk about a lot together.

David Irvine has a knack for uncovering the possibility in items and making them new and exciting once again. He recently released a series called "Re-Directed Art." He took old, boring thrift store artwork and made it into fun, interesting paintings. He "re-directs" the paintings in the sense that with his additions, he changes the focus, theme, or narrative. He uses something already imagined as his canvas to create something new. Check out his paintings below.

Childbirth is one of the most painful experiences that a woman can go through in her life. It's a pain that men don't have the chance to experience, and sadly never will. Because of this gender discrepancy it can easily create some resentment and animosity in relationships during pregnancy. Now though, one hospital in China is trying to level the playing field by offering fathers to be the opportunity to experience what childbirth actually feels like.
