22 oct 2018 10:41

It doesn't matter if you use a pencil, a crayon or the tip of your nose to create art. Some artists do well with just a few tools, take for example Bulgarian illustrator Angel Ganev. Although we are sure he could make beautiful art using a variety of tools, he often chooses to create amazing pictures using pencils alone.

My name is Claudia Maccechini (Claudym) and I'm an Italian artist with a penchant for illustrating pop culture icons in microdetail. There's a world inside tiny things and this is the reason why I'm a fan of objects and subjects realized on a small scale. My repertoire contains characters from classic movies like "Star Wars", "Back to the Future", "E.T.", "The Lord of the Rings", "Harry Potter" etc... Inspiration often comes...

I reconstruct whole cities in pen and ink and not a single little detail is lost
21 dec 2015 12:32

The city fascinates me, no it totally absorbes me, actually it excites me to such degree that I feel like spending hours, days, weeks and sometimes months recreating in fine detail my impressions of all great cities I’ve visited. Mainly from memory, I reconstruct whole cities in pen and ink and not a single little detail is lost on me: streetlights, subway entrances, shopfronts, park benches, yes, even curtains in windows.

I Draw Famous Robots With Celebrity Cats On My Sons‘ Lunchbox Napkins
31 mar 2015 11:46

I’ve been drawing illustrations of my sons’ favorite characters on their napkins for years, and we will often end up with a series of pictures based on a theme. Recently we’ve caught up with the rest of the internet’s fixation on pictures of cats. We’ve been pairing them with my kids’ favorite robots from movies, TV and video games. We started with Baymax from “Big Hero 6″ posed with Grumpy Cat and have rolled on from there through 13 more and counting.

Tattoo artist Fred Giovannitti of Tatlantis is the proud papa of three creative kids. Like most children, Giovannitti's daughter and two sons like drawing pictures for their dad. Instead of simply thanking them or putting the pictures up on the fridge, this gifted artist has been enhancing his children's sketches by coloring them in while he's traveling out of state for work. It's his way of collaborating with his kids and keeping a piece of them with him, wherever he may be.

In December 2014, he used a fine-tipped Micron pen, straight-edge, and mechanical pencil to create intriguing monochromatic landscapes. They often feature urban structures like abandoned alleys and desolate buildings, but the artist sketches idyllic-looking mountain ranges, too. Professional Illustrator Collaborates With Her 4-Year Old Daughter
02 sep 2013 10:14

Not too long ago, professional illustrator Mica Angela Hendricks could not have imagined sharing her personal art projects with anyone. However, one day, when she bought a new sketchbook, her 4-year old daughter started adding her own contributions. Mica noticed that unrestrained imagination of a child allows her girl to finish the paintings in a way that the artist could never think of herself. Now the mom starts a piece by drawing a face, and the daughter finishes it up with the body she thinks to fit best. Mica never knows how they will turn out – which was tough for a perfectionist at first – but she learned to appreciate it:
