Three border collies are looking incredibly cute in this photo by Alicja Zmyslowka. The Poland-based photographer takes the most adorable pictures of dogs we've ever seen. Alicja had always been around photography, since her father and brother had taken photos as long as she could remember, but it wasn't until her own puppy (the golden retriever) finally came into her life, in 2006, that she found her true calling and inspiration. The photographer has devoted her life to taking dog...

A Simple Squiggly Line Watch

The Ora Unica is a beautifully simple watch designed by Denis Guidone for NAVA, a Milanese design studio. When you first look at it, it looks like it's purely ornamental, more like a bracelet than a device for telling time. However, it is actually a functioning watch with an hour and minute hand that's carefully disguised as one long, squiggly line.

Brothers Recreated Childhood Photos For Parents’ Wedding Anniversary

When it came time to get their parents a present for their anniversary, these two brothers, Matthew and James, came up with a fun and unusual gift idea – they took a bunch of old childhood photos and reenacted them as adults. The contrast between the grown-up brothers and their childhood photos is jarring but funny, especially when one of them is covered in tattoos from the collar down.

Solar-Powered Glowing Bicycle Path In Netherlands

Dutch artist and designer Daan Roosegaarde has created a beautiful and innovative glowing bike path that, when illuminated at night by glowing pebbles and LEDs, looks like Van Gogh’s famous Starry Night painting. The kilometer-long bike path, which was created using both glow-in-the-dark technology and solar-powered LEDs, is located in Brabant, the Dutch county where Van Gogh was born and raised. The swirling, glowing forms on the path’s surface will help bicyclists stay on track when they...

Artist Uses Only Nails to Create Sculptures

Nearly 30 years ago, sculptor John Bisbee was exploring an abandoned house, scavenging for items he could incorporate into found-object sculptures, when he accidentally kicked over a bucket filled with rusty, old nails. To the college student's surprise, the nails that fell out had fused into a bucket-shaped chunk of metal, forming a solid object. Since then, the Maine-based artist has used nails as his sole medium to create a stunning array of large-scale sculptures and installations,...

Living Paintings by Alexa Meade

Katarina 13 nov 2014

The artworks that Alexa Meade makes are very unique and original. A usual painter creates a 2D or a 3D drawing on flat 2D surface. Alexa, on the other hand, draws over the body of a regular person, making them look like a 2D painting. The pictures of these people are almost uncanny, as you realize that the eyes “paintings” are real, and suddenly it dawns upon you that you are seeing a living and breathing human being. It is weird how we perceive this world, and how easy it is to trick our...

Man Buys 99 iPhones to Propose to His Girlfriend

With “Singles’ Day” looming in China (Nov. 11), one man thought the time was right to try to tie the knot with his girlfriend. As a keystone of the young programmer’s marriage proposal were 99 iPhones 6’s placed on the ground and arranged in the form of a heart. The setup, as reported by The Nanfang, cost the love-bitten chap two years’ salary (about $82,000). But that evidently wasn’t enough. She said no.
