Here comes the new year, and with that we can expect a couple of things: 1. a new iphone coming out in the summer 2. some variation of an ipad that microsoft will copy and remake. However, there are a couple things we didn't see coming this year. Like for example these interesting little gadgets.

Everybody hates Fox News these days. Well, here's another reason to poke fun at them. There's been some talk on Left Coast Voter's Facebook about boycotting the channel. Spike Lee has been pretty outspoken with his opinion on Tarantino's new flick, Django. Although he hasn't actually SEEN the movie, he is calling it outright "disrespectful to [his] ancestors." Really, man? It's just a movie. And if Tarantino was really a racist, would he make Samual L. Jackson's career golden with his Pulp Fiction? Probably not. He probably would have used Bruce Willis or some other bald white guy. So Spike, save it.

Another kid goes off with some guns and of course the discourse has turned to violence in video games. Really? I wonder why those who want to condemn video games don't look at the news (as in it happens in real life, ) and movies (as in it happens in other parts of art,) first and foremost as the places where this sort of stuff is deseminated.

Let us look at violence in our society form a multifaceted perspective, not one that blames one niche market for all the ailments.
