A Troubled Country Singer Found Dead In Her House!
18 feb 2013 15:51

A 37 year old country singer Mindy McCready has just been found dead in her home. She died from a single gun shot to the head and it is believed to be a suicide. A close friend of hers reported that she has been suffering from "demons" all the time and attempted suicide twice before. She has been suffering from depression and drug abuse even before, but since her boyfriend David Wilson ended his life in a similar manner a month ago, everything intensified. She was admitted into a treatment facility and her two kids were taken from her care by the Department of human Services. All of these things have unfortunately proved too much for the singer to handle.

The End of The World? Asteroid 2012 DA14 to Pass The Earth Tonight
15 feb 2013 12:00

If the meteor that hit Russia this morning was only the size of a van, this "baby" here is the size of a half football field, let's hope it doesn't change it's predicted course.

NASA reports:

"Asteroid 2012 DA14, apparently not connected to the approximately 15 meter in diameter meteor which entered Earth's atmosphere last night above Russia, is now about to cross the geostationary ring.

According to NASA, the trajectory of the Russian meteor was significantly different than the trajectory of the approaching asteroid 2012 DA14, making it a completely unrelated object.

Videos of the meteor show it traveling from north to south. Asteroid 2012 DA14's trajectory is in the opposite direction, from south to north."

Meteor Hits Russia, Craaaazzzyyy...This Is Some Serious Stuff
15 feb 2013 01:30

The end of the world kind of story, this is really scary, ABC NEWS reports:

"A meteor streaked across the sky above Russia's Ural Mountains on Friday morning, causing sharp explosions and injuring more than 400 people.

"There was panic. People had no idea what was happening. Everyone was going around to people's houses to check if they were OK," said Sergey Hametov, a resident of Chelyabinsk, about 1500 kilometers (930 miles) east of Moscow, the biggest city in the affected region.

"We saw a big burst of light then went outside to see what it was and we heard a really loud thundering sound," he told The Associated Press by telephone.Interior Ministry spokesman Vadim Kolesnikov said more than 400 people had sought medical treatment after the blasts, and at least three had been hospitalized in serious condition. Many of the injuries were from glass broken by the explosions.

Small pieces of space debris — usually parts of comets or asteroids — that are on a collision course with the Earth are called meteoroids. When meteoroids enter the Earth's atmosphere they are called meteors. Most meteors burn up in the atmosphere, but if they survive the frictional heating and strike the surface of the Earth they are called meteorites."
