10 Best Video Game Villains
17 apr 2013 12:23
The best video game villains are those that you love to hate. That have personality mixed into that cauldron of ill will, evil, and rat guts. The 25 best video game villains stick with you long after your game system has powered down. Many times you’ll remember the bad guy much more readily than the character you actually played. Maybe it is their creativity in evil doing that endears them to us so much. Maybe we just like the idea of having someone deviously clever around for our avatar to smash into the ground. Whatever the reason may be, we love villains. For your enjoyment, we’d like to present the 25 Best Video Game Villains. As much as you love them, don’t make them role models. That may turn out poorly.

10 Great Xbox 360 Games You’ve Never Played
17 apr 2013 12:13
There are so many games out there that finding 10 Xbox 360 Games You’ve Never Played was a tough list to compile. Sure, we could have just picked any average Joe game no one has heard of, but we wanted to find games you’d actually play. Diablo. Mass Effect. Assassin’s Creed. There are gaming mega-franchises that nearly everyone has heard of — games so big that even your grandma might ask you if you want that, “new Call to Duty: Black Copters game?” But just because a game is popular doesn’t mean it’s good, and just because a game is relatively unknown doesn’t mean it isn’t good. The Xbox 360, in particular, has been home to a number of cult classics and sleeper hits, so if you’re looking to expand your gaming collection with something a little more esoteric, well, just sit back, relax, and check out our list of 10 Xbox 360 Games You’ve Probably Never Played.

Matt Damon Is a Classic American Cutie
17 apr 2013 12:03
Matt Damon is basically an American tradition at this point — like baseball, apple pie, reality shows, and taking forks out of the dishwasher without unloading the whole thing, appreciating Matt Damon’s hotness has become a pastime. When has Matt Damon not been sexy? Ever since we first spied him in ‘Good Will Hunting,’ and he won that Oscar with co-star Ben Affleck for co-writing the script, we were in love. You were. I was. The royal “we.” And then he just kept on going, making us swoon with roles in movies like the ‘Bourne’ trilogy, the ‘Ocean’s 11′ movies, ‘Contagion’ (he still loved Gwyneth Paltrow even when she looked all sick and gross and was responsible for killing half the population), ‘We Bought a Zoo,’ ‘Saving Private Ryan,’ and so many more. Really, a lot more — go to IMDB and spend like, an hour researching his filmography. Outside of acting, Matt is still pretty amazing — he’s super smart, very political, and he’s still writing scripts. Up next? You can see him alongside Michael Douglas in HBO’s Liberace biopic, ‘Behind the Candelabra,’ in which the pair play gay lovers and Damon takes off his shirt a lot. And he’s in ‘Elysium,’ an exciting new sci-fi movie that comes out in August. And in between all that, he’s refusing to go to the bathroom until everyone in the world has access to clean water. So this is a guy after your heart.

Reid Scott from ‘Veep’ Makes Our Hearts Beep
17 apr 2013 12:00
‘Veep’ premiered its second season on HBO this past Sunday (April 14), and it remains probably the best show you aren’t watching — it’s funny, it’s smart, and it stars the very handsome Reid Scott. So what are you waiting for? When you watch ‘Veep’ and your vision finally clears and you can see through all the tears induced from laughing so hard it hurts, you’ll notice this tasty morsel: Reid Scott, the guy who plays Dan Egan on the show, an adviser to Julia Louis Dreyfuss’ Vice President Selina Meyer. The show follows VP Selina as she tries — and fails — to be a more substantial entity in the White House, scurrying to avoid and clean up bad press about her and her politics. She has a crew that includes Scott’s Dan Egan, Anna Chlumsky’s Amy, Tony Hale from ‘Arrested Development,’ and comic veteran Matt Walsh. The show is fantastic and there’s still plenty of time to get caught up and check it out in its second season. And if the synopsis and amazing cast don’t sell you, maybe Reid Scott will. The tall, dark, and handsome (TDH is the holy grail, ladies) actor has also starred on other TV shows like ‘My Boys,’ ‘The Big C,’ and ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager,’ so chances are you — like me — have seen him around and not realized it until now.

Adam Lambert on Out Magazine
17 apr 2013 11:58

There’s something so sexy about a guy who can wear eyeliner, which is just one of the many reasons why we love androgynous pop star Adam Lambert. Though he was runner-up on season 8 of ‘American Idol’ in 2009, that didn’t stop Adam from taking over the world. His first album, ‘For Your Entertainment,’ was a chart-topper, and his second album, ‘Trespassing,’ debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts last year, proving that his fans just can’t get enough. Lambert totally earns that acclaim, too — he’s a fantastic singer and an amazing performer, and we’re always stoked to see what he’s up to next. But enough about his voice — the guy is smokin’ hot. How many dudes do YOU know who can wear eyeliner? Let me answer that for you: none. You know none. But this guy can rock the eyeliner, look mad androgynous and still be hot. Who else can do that? Tilda Swinton? Okay. He’s definitely got an ’80s vibe, and he kind of reminds me of Adam Ant (who was also incredibly attractive, wore eyeliner and liked to blur gender lines). But aside from being really pretty and super talented, Lambert is also inspiring: He’s the first openly gay artist to launch a career on a major record label in the United States, and he spends a lot of time using his power for good with numerous philanthropy efforts. So he isn’t just nice to look at — even though looking at him is very, very nice indeed.

I read Us Weekly, National Enquirer, Star, Life & Style and In Touch this week — so you didn’t have to. You’re welcome. Alright, just kidding, I didn't read this junk. The mere sight of these make my eyes bleed and make me want to scream bloody murder. What I did do, is collect all the cover pages so that you don't have to go out and buy them. This week, baby weight battles are raging in the headlines, Michael Jackson was murdered, Angelina Jolie has taken up collapsing as a hobby, Kris Kardashian likes martinis while Kim Kardashian likes to eat, Suri Cruise is already hooking up, and all kinds of other really real stuff you’d have to read to believe.

Selena Gomez & Taylor Swift Have a Lonely Girls Club: Ellen Helps Out
17 apr 2013 11:45
Selena Gomez infamously split from Justin Bieber and bragged about making him cry, but she kept it classy when Ellen DeGeneres asked her about the breakup this week. You can thank Brad Pitt and Taylor Swift for that. Gomez wouldn’t comment directly on her Bieber breakup, save to say, “I’m doing great — I met Brad Pitt!” She was speaking about her run-in with the A-lister at the MTV Movie Awards, where she writhed around wearing a bindi and singing flatly but looked stunning. Pitt’s tykes are fans of Gomez on her Disney TV show, ‘The Wizards of Waverly Place,’ so he asked her for a photo … and she freaked out. “I hid under the craft services table for like, two minutes,” she gushed. “I couldn’t believe it was happening.” She revealed what she looks for in a man: someone who makes her laugh and is good to her parents. But she’s not getting asked out often at all, and that doesn’t bug her because she can hang out with Swift and their single friends and eat cake. No, seriously. That’s what they do. And they call it the Lonely Girls Club. Swift’s tabloid headines will write themselves.

Pamela Anderson Has Had One Hell of a Makeunder
17 apr 2013 11:23
Pamela Anderson was turning heads for a much different reason than usual at an April 15 event for the Obliphica Professional hair care line, showing up in minimal makeup, an elegant updo, and a high-necked black sheath dress with nary a boob showing. The 45-year-old, who has two children with rocker Tommy Lee, said she felt it was “time” for a change from her typical sexy attire. “You know, you grow up and you change your look. I feel different from how I did in my Playboy days,” she told Buzzfeed. “Now, I think I’m in charge of toning down my look or not. I feel like as I’m getting older, this is my version of toned down.” Oddly, when the woman who’s been on the cover of Playboy more than anyone else in history was asked about being beautiful, she said, “Oh, god, I don’t know if I ever really felt beautiful. I always feel like I don’t — I don’t, really.” Still, she’s a lifelong fan of glamour, and talked about fighting for it during her days on ‘Baywatch.’ “Sometimes my [false] eyelashes would roll up onto the beach and that’s all that would be left of me,” she laughed. “But I was determined to be glamorous. Oh, I loved it, I LOVED it. I thought, ‘If you’re going to be on TV, and if you’re gonna be out and glamorous, the natural look can stay at home. If we’re gonna do this, let’s have fun with it!” Those sentiments aren’t really surprising when you know who she listed as beauty and fashion role models: Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot, Ursula Andress, Raquel Welch, Marilyn Monroe and Dita Von Teese. Sounds like she has her head in the right place — and it’s a welcome change. She looks amazing.

Cake Resignation Letter Is the Best Way to Quit a Job
17 apr 2013 11:15
Just about everyone has dreamt about quitting a job in a grand fashion. Not only was Chris Holmes able to pull off a splashy exit from his nine-to-five as a border control agent at London’s Stansted Airport, but he was able to do so in a way that should drum up some business for his new endeavor. Having just turned 31 and become a new dad, Holmes decided he would pursue his dream of running a catering company that specializes in baked goods full time. So he wrote a note of resignation in icing on top of a large rectangular spiced carrot cake with pecans and sultanas and coconut. Then he brought it in to work for his bosses and colleagues to read and then eat. “Having recently become a father I now realize how precious life is and how important it is to spend my time doing something that makes me and other people happy,” announced the cake. His manager and colleagues were “surprised and amazed” with Holmes’ method of quitting. According to a spokesman for the border force, people who tasted [the cake] say it was “very nice.” Since a photo of the cake has now gone viral, Holmes is getting an immeasurable amount of free advertising for his catering business. We wonder if his new customers will be contacting him because his cake looks yummy or because they want to quit their jobs grandly too. Check out the whole cake below.

Discarded Lottery Tickets Turned Into Extravagant Items
17 apr 2013 11:13
There are millions a stake, but ultimately millions upon millions never win – that’s the reality of playing the lottery. In fact, it has been said that playing the lottery is for people who are bad at mathematics, your chances of winning are no greater than 1 in 176,000,000. In fact, you have more likelihood of getting being killed by vending machine (1 in 122 million) than getting your hands on all that cash. Still there here is always hope right? And hey, someone, somewhere has to win! When some incredibly lucky individual does win lotto, you often here tales of ridiculously extravagant purchases and luxury items bought with reckless abandon. That was the inspiration behind ‘Ghosts Of A Dream’ (GhostofaDream.com) by visual artists Adam Eckstrom and Lauren Was. Together they tried to imagine an outrageously expensive vehicle a wealthy individual might buy and then add their own spin to it. Choosing the Hummer H3, they amusingly pulled together $39,000 worth of losing lottery tickets (the cost of the Hummer itself) and used those discarded tickets to cover it.

Now depending on how old you are, as a kid you might have had a kite, driven remote-controlled toy truck into the feet of countless family members or been creative and bored enough in class to make paper aeroplanes. Our curiosity and fascinating with objects that we can manoeuvre at will probably comes from our own frustrations and physical limitations. But now things are about to get interesting, feel free to put that remote-controlled car in the garage indefinitely. As of today, you can control your own personal insect and have it crawling around doing your bidding at will. Astonishing Hyper-Realistic Scenes Made With LEGO
17 apr 2013 11:10
It’s rare that a collaboration can produce such magnificent results as this. Nathan Sawaya (known to many as ‘The Brick Artist’ these days) is the ingenious sculpture behind some of the most impressive LEGO works you’re ever likely to see. He paired up with the award-winning Australia photographer Dean West to collaborate on the startling exhibition In Pieces. It was a project that spanned many years, but their hard work, dedication and sheer patience as produced some astounding visuals. Together they conceptualise the story and West then dramatically photographs the scene. The twist comes when Sawaya mischievously inserts his hand-made LEGO sculptures ‘somewhere’ into the photograph itself. The duo traveled around America shooting scenes in a variety of locations from Nevada to Utah, from New York to California. The net effect is a blend of hyper-realism, sheer elegance and sudden surprise. http://deanwest.com/ http://brickartist.com/

If you’re having a hard time falling asleep, you can always use this post for therapeutic purposes. Besides it being an animal post, which already soothes the heart, it is bound to have you start yawning yourself. The Internet's 10 Best Tributes To Steve Buscemi
16 apr 2013 19:20
As great as Buscemi is -- and no one denies he's the best -- some salvage efforts prove too difficult for even him (see: every Adam Sandler movie this century). But that's not to say the Herculean efforts of a man who in no way resembles Hercules shouldn't be celebrated. And since the internet is pretty much always busy celebrating the man behind Nucky Thompson how about we start there? Steve Buscemi doesn't so much bait the internet as the internet baits Steve Buscemi. Wait, that doesn't make sense. Maybe there's no baiting at all. Maybe a better way to put it is that the internet has a unhealthy fascination with an actor who looks like he has some unhealthy fascinations (although I'm sure doesn't). Anyway. You get the point. Cue the chicks with Buscemeyes...
