A touching story of survival and rcovery of a little kitten named Gotham

animal cat

In news that will make you go tear your hair out and punch a hole through your computer screen because nothing should ever be this cute, here’s a video of a couple of 11 week old exotic shorthair kittens rolling around in hamster balls. Even the description alone causes me an intense, violent reaction, but when the video starts, I just see red. The cutest red you can possibly imagine. In fact, it’s more of a pinkish really. So restrain yourself. Restrain yourself or you too will have to buy a new computer. And computers don’t come cheap! Which is why I’m typing this at the library.

Fat Cat On A Treadmill

Helen 12 sep 2013

Buddha is a cat. A cat that — how do I put this lightly? He’s uh, big boned. Plump. Hefty. Curvy. He’s got a little extra meat on his bones. Let’s just say he’s been well fed. Like, really really well. For a long time. Aw hell, who am I kidding this cat’s fat as hell. Morbidly obese. The big kitty has been put on an exercise regime that consists of walking on an underwater treadmill. It seems to be serving Buddha pretty well — he’s gone from a round 31.4 pounds to a svelte 27.9 pounds. His goal weight? About 20 pounds. But Buddha, by then you’ll just be skin and bones! Skin and bones and a lot of loose, furry skin.

How to photograph cats and dogs to improve their chances of adoption

Second Chance Photos is an organization that takes pictures of animals that are up for adoption so that prospective owners will see the pets at their best. In addition to doing the photography, they also teach others. Here are some of their tips for getting the best pic of a cat or dog (which, of course, is relevant to any pet owner, not just those with animals that need to be adopted)…

Here’s a Cat Dressed Up Like Thor

This is Sir Didymus the cat. His person, Tumblr-er sparkysmachine dressed him up like Thor. He looks GOOD. Sparkysmachine insists that even though the kitty looks unhappy, he was all for it due to some catnip on the Mjolnir. Good to know, not that I think Sir Didymus has anything to complain about anyway — Thor is a good guy! One time I dressed up my cat as a villain and he ran away. Sure he came back the next day, looking all hungry and remorseful but you know what? I didn’t let him back in, because you cross me once and — oh God, this was all my fault. I’ve made a mistake. Skittles come back!

Colonel Meow Sets Guinness World Record For Cat With the Longest Fur

Colonel Meow, a Himalayan Persian cat who lives in Los Angeles, California, has set a Guinness World Record for “cat with the longest fur.” Three independent vets measured his fur at an average of 22.89 centimeters, or nine inches. Colonel Meow’s new record will be featured in the Guinness World Records 2014 book, which is set to release on September 12th. “We already knew that he was the best cat in the world, but to be recognised in the Guinness World Records book takes it to the next level,” Colonel Meow’s owner Anne Marie Avey said.

This is the astonishing moment a jaguar emerged from the water to launch a ferocious attack on a caiman basking on a sand bank. These stunning images show the 20-stone cat striking with lightning speed while the eight-foot reptile basks on a river island in Brazil. In a flurry of action, the ferocious cat sinks its teeth and claws into the back of the leathery reptile before whisking it away in its jaws.

This Cat Brings Home The Most Unusual Treats For His Family

Cats are known to bring home all sorts of nasty things as "gifts" to their owners. Usually a dead mouse or bird, which they proudly display for us. They don't mean to be gross, these little prizes are just one of the few ways they can show us affection. Typically.
However, this cat in Australia has a much more adorable prey. Adopted by Shana Skinner and her family a year ago, this orange tabby recently decided to become a feline felon.

Gloomy Watercolor Cats Slowly Bleeding Into The Paper

Cats, ever the internet’s greatest darlings, can be a ghostly and spirit-like lot, and these gorgeous paintings by Serbian-born artist Endre Penovac certainly help portray them as mystical beings not entirely of this world. Penovac’s extraordinary effect is achieved by diluting his ink and watercolor pigments with plenty of water, making them spread across the page on their own. This can make the paint difficult to control, but also gives it that ghostly and fuzzy quality when it dries,...

Ever wondered what your cat gets up to when you’re not at home? Well, wonder no more because Bored Panda is here to expose the truth about our feline friends. Far from chilling on the couch or watching birds from the window, cats are actually a lot more active when they think that humans aren’t looking. And by active we mean that they dance. Ballet, to be precise.

I've been drawing and doodling since I can remember, but I've only been seriously (more or less) drawing comics for the past 3 years or so. Quite a few of my comics are about cats, and since I don't actually own a cat, I assume that cats abduct me in my sleep and plant ideas in my head. So now I love cats and must obey their commands.

Venezuela resembles a land from a post-apocalyptic novel. You can see modern skyscrapers but cannot charge your phone. You can have a computer, a mobile and a flat-screen TV but still have to cook on wood-burning stoves. While shopping it’s more practical to weight money rather than count it. Millions of people are running away from the country and those who stay, often starve.

We’re all probably familiar with Stephen King’s legendary horror stories. One of the more iconic pieces is the 1983 horror novel Pet Sematary that was turned into a horror thriller and hit the screens in 1989. By this century, both the novel and the film are widely recognized as classics, and with the current “age of revival” it’s no shocker that Pet Sematary hit the silver screens once more.
