Ukrainian artist Olga Kamenetskaya specializing in doll modification and repainting, takes what‘s considered ‘perfect’ and gives it a realistic makeover.

In a Burkinabe home living on $29/month per adult, the favorite toy is an old tire

Anna Rosling Rönnlund has spent the last 15 years making global public data easier to understand and use. Trying to come up with an idea that would connect with people better than colorful charts, she started Dollar Street. The initiative had a team of photographers documenting over 264 homes in 50 countries. In each home, the photographer spent a day taking pictures of up to 135 objects, like the family’s shoes, toothbrushes, or… children’s toys.

This is ‘Pandy,’ a cuddly toy that stole the heart of 10-year-old Leon Ashworth from Liverpool, England

A stuffed animal might not matter much to the average person, but for a child, it could mean the world. When 10-year-old Leon Ashworth’s mom couldn’t afford to buy him a stuffed panda he desperately wanted, he wrote a forlorn note on the toy’s box pleading with shoppers not to buy it until his mom could. What happened next was so heartwarming, it will melt you.

Adult toys come in all shapes and sizes. They’re also there for all of us who are single and not ready to mingle but still want that tingle in our dingle in the dead of night. But some toys are so far from the norm that they grab one’s attention even in the variegated industry of adult entertainment. They appeal to fetishes so uncommon that even the most seasoned toy shopper would stop and say “woah.”

What’s Inside Your Favorite Childhood Toys?

Popular toys that have been cut in half and filled with a realistic skeleton and organs are Maryland, USA, Jason Freeny’s specialty. Although his father was a sculptor, Freeny worked as an industrial designer until he lost his job in the financial crisis. When he ran out of money after six months, Freeny began to sculpt, too. A $50 sale on eBay, three times what he expected, was the first indicator to Freeny that he might be on to something. Soon, orders were pouring in, and he now sells...

Give A Child A Nightmare

Kids are way too sheltered these days. With 24 hours of children’s television available, they aren’t forced to watch Unsolved Mysteries and America’s Most Wanted like I was. Stir things up a bit. Get a Zombie Pet Plush. The huggable undead might bring them some sweet–yet still a little scary–cuddles by day, but turn the lights out and wait for the screams! Look at these things…they’re pretty gross looking. Choose from Bitey – a possibly rabid baby werewolf, Deadington Ruxworth – a stuffed bear, or Frostbite – an undead penguin.
