Work from home sounds like a dream for most, but, like many work-related things, it’s not easy. Sure, getting work done in bed and not having colleagues breathe over your shoulder is a convenience that cannot be understated, but it’s things like having unlimited snacking time and getting easily distracted way too many times that become serious issues. 22 jul 2019 13:21

After a college party to celebrate the end of term, John Lennon asked Cynthia Powell if she would like to “go out” with him. She quickly replied that she was engaged to a young man in Hoylake; he replied, “I didn’t ask you to marry me, did I?” He later approached her and asked if she would go to the Ye Cracke pub. She was confused when he ignored her all evening, but eventually invited her into the group with a joke.

Here’s How I Turned Our Formal Living Room Into A Home Office
31 aug 2018 10:45

When we purchased our home last year, we started out using one of our three bedrooms as a home office. Our plans were to eventually convert the unused formal living space in the front of the house to a home office down the road, as we have a bigger family room in the back of the house that we use as our primary living space. When we found out we were going to have a baby, I figured this would be a good time to tackle this project.

Working from home and working at an office are two very different kinds of work. So they found the human remains beneath our chimney this morning...
29 feb 2016 11:59

So we had a bit of excavation work done. Our house needed under pinning to fix up the foundations, which meant we had to bring in the big guns and dig down a metre and a half along the front of the house. Everything was going smoothly. It was all quite ordinary until the dog got involved. Of course, rather than keeping her eye on the job she sniffed out a bone or two. Until fragments of a skull started turning up.

Red noses, a seasonal flu, and blistering fingertips. Winter is guilty of keeping our time outside limited to just fleeting moments of building snowmen and throwing snowballs at each other. People say that money can't buy happiness, but those people have never paid an adoption fee. If you are thinking of adding a four-legged baby to your life, please visit your local shelter and check out rescues. There are always animals looking for a loving forever home. Time to have a baby!

When my friend and fellow photographer told me she was planning a home birth, I knew I had to be the one to capture it… I’m Kathy Rosario of K Ro Photography and babies are what I live for! It was pure bliss and tranquility as we awaited for the baby’s arrival. I have photographed quite a few births already, but nothing quiet compared to the serenity...

17 Architecturally Interesting Homes That People Actually Live In
22 jun 2015 10:55

Unique architecture and the way that things are made is so interesting to me. I love seeing interesting homes, and realizing that people actually live their day-to-day lives there. Some of these must have been a total pain to furnish- you can't really have a stunning house and then toss some IKEA furniture in it. The furniture has to be as one-of-a-kind as the house! These houses are architecturally fascinating, and must make for really good dinner party conversation.

Surreal Floating Room Sculptures by Leandro Erlich
02 sep 2013 11:42

Like a scene from a fantasy movie, a dilapidated room that appears to have been literally ripped out of a building remains suspended in mid air above Nantes, France. Its walls were torn apart, revealing bricks below the plaster, and wood floors reveal the joists inside. The floating room is accessible via a ladder. The gravity defying surreal installation is the work of Argentinean artist Leandro Erlich. The large-scale piece, called “Monte-meubles – L’ultime déménagement” (literally - The Furniture Lift – The Ultimate Moving Out), was created for the biannual Le Voyage a Nantes, an art festival which turns the entire French city into an art gallery.
