On May 15th, mother of four Chrissy Corbitt gave birth to her daughter Carleigh, who ended up to be quite a big of a bundle of joy. Literally. “When the doctor was pulling her out of me I just start hearing them all laughing and excited in the operating room,” Chrissy told ABC News. “They were throwing out numbers and when they showed her to me and said 13.5 (6Kg), I couldn’t believe it. It looked like they pulled a toddler out of my belly. She’s so big.”

Scientists Find 100 Million-Year-Old, Nearly Complete Baby Bird Trapped in Amber

“Seeing this much of an animal preserved in amber is exciting,” study author Ryan McKellar told Gizmodo. “In this case we have the whole right side of the body.”

This has been a huge year for finding specimens in amber, from bird wings to dinosaur feathers. But this new finding might be the best one yet: a nearly complete 99-million-year-old baby bird. Scientists found the specimen in Myanmar, where others have purchased or found plenty of other incredible amber samples in the amber mines. But this one is crazy: an almost complete baby bird that lived during the time of the dinosaurs.

What’s Wrong With Today’s Society Captured In Brutally Honest Illustrations

It's no secret that our society has its flaws - dependence on technology, taxes, obesity, devaluation of workers - to name a few. Some people may not even want to think about any these problems but illustrator John Holocraft, on the other hand, he looks them straight in the eye and depicts them in a satirical way.

When Zou Hongyan welcomed her only son to the world in 1988, terrible birth complications left him disabled for life with cerebral palsy. Doctors in her native Hubei province encouraged her to give him up, a view that even her own husband shared, as they believed the boy would lead a miserable, worthless life. Zou, however, rejected their claims, divorced her child’s father, and made it her life mission to treat and support her baby boy.

Valentino was the unfortunate cat no human would touch, and for many reasons

Valentino was the unfortunate cat no human would touch. The kitty’s fur was hardened and riddled with grime. His eyes were shut from being too caked and swollen for him to see anything. On top of that, the poor thing suffered from sarcoptic mange, a condition that is highly contagious to both cats and humans. But when Elaine Seamans passed by Valentino’s cage at the Baldwin Park animal shelter last week and heard his cry for help, she knew what to do.

Its main feature is a giant camphor tree, stretching out through a hole in the platform. Officials believe that the tree is about 700 years old and its history is full of loving people and a little bit of superstition.
