15 Stunning Brides With Tattoos
24 jun 2015 10:59
Whenever I bring up the fact that I've always wanted a tattoo, one of the first questions older women will ask me in a flabbergasted manner is, "But what about on your wedding day, in your beautiful, white wedding gown?" Or they'll throw in a snarky remark like, "Well, make sure you get it in a spot you won't be able to see in a wedding dress." What those women fail to realize is that women with tattoos can still look like absolute princesses in their...

This Man Spent 6 Years Crocheting A Super Mario Bros Map Blanket
23 jun 2015 14:53
Super Mario 3 fan Kjetil Nordin spent 800 hours over 6 years to make a perfect crocheted copy of the game’s first map. The 31 year-old Norwegian used 100 balls of yarn, and the impressive blanket measures 2.2 by 1.8 meters (7’2”x5’10”). Kjetil even redid a massive section when he realized he had used an imperfect color for a certain portion of the map. During those six years, he won the Norwegian Sky Diving team championship two times, earned two university degrees, started a career, and...

I live in a crowded city and that can sometimes make me feel alienated. Especially when I see how the world is shaped by a passion for consumption. To cope with this fragmentation, I retreat to mountains for summer months. Nature helps me reconnect to the things that matter, and eases the sense of isolation. For me solitude is a gateway to creativity. My art is a response to social alienation. What we have is time and space to use creativity in becoming better. When using the metal pieces I...

I Cover City Streets In Lace Street Art
22 jun 2015 11:26
I create works that are somewhere in between street art, pottery, painting and sculpture. Most of my work consist of prints of traditional laces, made in clay or painted on the walls. Why laces? Because in laces there is an aesthetic code, which is deeply embedded in every culture. In every lace we find symmetry, some kind of order and harmony, isn’t that what we all seek for instinctively?

17 Architecturally Interesting Homes That People Actually Live In
22 jun 2015 10:55
Unique architecture and the way that things are made is so interesting to me. I love seeing interesting homes, and realizing that people actually live their day-to-day lives there. Some of these must have been a total pain to furnish- you can't really have a stunning house and then toss some IKEA furniture in it. The furniture has to be as one-of-a-kind as the house! These houses are architecturally fascinating, and must make for really good dinner party conversation.

16 Japanese-Inspired Tattoos
17 jun 2015 12:13
Japanese tattoos are just plain beautiful. The Japanese are already artistic people in their own right, which makes sense why the tattoos that bear their style are the same way. The thing I like most about Japanese tattoos is that they can portray a story with a few simple visuals, pure brilliance. With a mix of beautiful color and delicate lines, these tattoos are magnificent. I hope you like what I found, I know I did.

Ms. Ulmer is a 97 year old bohemian artist who has been making a piece of art everyday for the last 90 years. She worked as an illustrator at The Philadelphia Free Library for over 35 years and helped establish its Art Department. Although she has worked in many mediums, I became smitten with her self portraits. The Ms.Ulmer book project began a couple years ago. Our collaboration seemed natural. The pages will include my images of her alongside her illustrated self portraits. She trusts me...

My 5 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback Kaya is a professional at stealing food. It all started when she was a puppy and we caught her during a friend’s party attempting to eat a burrito that was still in the mouth of the person eating it. She quickly earned the nickname “scarf” for her ability to steal food when we aren’t watching, or at the very least when we are watching, to reach her giraffe like tongue out and lick whatever is within range. As a food photographer, Kaya has successfully stuck...

Many of us see animals as human beings’ equals, so it’s only natural that some photographers see them this way as well.
