Here's Robert Pattinson's Uncensored Dior Homme Ad [VIDEOS]
03 sep 2013 09:38
It’s finally here … Kinda. Dior has now shared more than mere stills or teasers of Robert Pattinson‘s Dior Homme fragrance ad campaign by giving us several behind the scenes video as well as an uncensored director’s cut. In it, we learn that if you use Dior Homme you too will be able to land a supermodel like Camille Rowe and will therefore spend your time macking it to her, standing around while brooding on top of buildings and crashing parties for foreign dignitaries. Possibly. It’s kind of unclear in perfume commercials exactly what’s happening. Directed by Romain Gavras and featuring Led Zeppelin‘s ‘Whole Lotta Love,’ you can check out the entire uncensored ad above. Side note: even though it’s labeled “uncensored,” it’s not that scandalous, unless it’s set in the town of ‘Footloose’ where dancing and suggestively cuddling is bad. As for behind the scene shots and actual uncensored clips? You can check out those below.

The end result is a selection of colourful boards brimming with delicious items that almost look too good to eat. You’ll be pleased to know she’s going to be producing posters of these shortly, make sure you’re the first to know by heading over to her website.

13 IKEA Products Whose Names Make Little Sense
03 sep 2013 09:28
f you’ve ever been to an IKEA store, or rather if you’ve ever found yourself trapped in the maze that is one of their stores, you’ll be familiar with the Swedish names they give their products. Generally speaking, these names denote the type of function that product will perform, so ‘DISKA’ translation “to wash dishes” is the name of a dishwashing brush. Seems logical enough doesn’t it? It’s a very succinct and efficient way of making sure consumers know the product does what it says on the label. Except when it comes to the following 12 examples. Here their names make no sense at all – maybe the right words were already taken? Maybe it was 5.30pm on a Friday and the person in charge of selecting thousands of functional names had simply had enough. Either way, they make for entertaining viewing.

Surreal Floating Room Sculptures by Leandro Erlich
02 sep 2013 11:42
Like a scene from a fantasy movie, a dilapidated room that appears to have been literally ripped out of a building remains suspended in mid air above Nantes, France. Its walls were torn apart, revealing bricks below the plaster, and wood floors reveal the joists inside. The floating room is accessible via a ladder. The gravity defying surreal installation is the work of Argentinean artist Leandro Erlich. The large-scale piece, called “Monte-meubles – L’ultime déménagement” (literally - The Furniture Lift – The Ultimate Moving Out), was created for the biannual Le Voyage a Nantes, an art festival which turns the entire French city into an art gallery.

Colonel Meow Sets Guinness World Record For Cat With the Longest Fur
02 sep 2013 10:55
Colonel Meow, a Himalayan Persian cat who lives in Los Angeles, California, has set a Guinness World Record for “cat with the longest fur.” Three independent vets measured his fur at an average of 22.89 centimeters, or nine inches. Colonel Meow’s new record will be featured in the Guinness World Records 2014 book, which is set to release on September 12th. “We already knew that he was the best cat in the world, but to be recognised in the Guinness World Records book takes it to the next level,” Colonel Meow’s owner Anne Marie Avey said.

Hyper Realistic Paintings by Simon Hennessey
02 sep 2013 10:38
Simon Hennessey is a Birmingham, UK based artist who paints realistic images of famous landmarks around the world as reflected in the lenses of a pair of sunglasses. Like most hyper-realistic painters, Hennessey’s process starts with the camera. But instead of simply copying the photograph, the artist proceeds to add or remove details, depth, add textures, form and color values, thereby creating an illusion of a reality not seen in any photographic source. “My Paintings therefore appear clearer and more distinct than a photograph. constructing my own interpretations of a reality results in blurring the boundaries of what is real and what is made up,” said Simon Hennessey. “I use the camera only as a source to assist me with gathering information.”

Guy Turns His Old Bike Into Pedal-Powered Treehouse Elevator
02 sep 2013 10:17
If you decide to live in a tree house, prepare yourself that the idea will also have some downsides to it as well. Ethan Schlussler from Sandpoint, Idaho eventually got tired of “climbing a ladder six and a half million times a day” just to get up to his house, and that led him to a great solution. Ethan constructed an amazing bicycle-powered elevator to get him to his house that’s 30 feet above the ground!

Professional Illustrator Collaborates With Her 4-Year Old Daughter
02 sep 2013 10:14
Not too long ago, professional illustrator Mica Angela Hendricks could not have imagined sharing her personal art projects with anyone. However, one day, when she bought a new sketchbook, her 4-year old daughter started adding her own contributions. Mica noticed that unrestrained imagination of a child allows her girl to finish the paintings in a way that the artist could never think of herself. Now the mom starts a piece by drawing a face, and the daughter finishes it up with the body she thinks to fit best. Mica never knows how they will turn out – which was tough for a perfectionist at first – but she learned to appreciate it:

Furbies on Your Favorite Albums Covers Make Your Dreams Come True

Furbies (Furbys to some, either is acceptable, apparently) on album covers — it’s the thing you didn’t know you were waiting to see. Fortunately, Tumblr Furby Living knew, and they made these amazing images. In addition to being adorable, the images raise the question — would a Rihanna song be much worse off if all the lyrics were replaced by Furbish? Or, if you really think about it, might that not improve the quality of ‘Birthday Cake’? While you think on that, enjoy these pics, and be sure to check out the Tumblr for more! http://furbyliving.tumblr.com/

Avril Lavigne Fights BearShark in 'Rock N Roll' Video
31 aug 2013 18:38
When was the last time you thought about Avril Lavigne? 2003? Oh. Well, get ready to flashback to a time when you cared about her particular brand of punk pop, because her new video for ‘Rock N Roll’ features two of the internet’s favorite things — grown-up ’80s TV stars and BearShark. Avril debuted her video for ‘Rock N Roll’ recently to little fanfare. (Let’s be honest, the song’s a little…basic.) But slowly, people started to realize three things: 1. Billy Zane’s in it, playing some sort of action hero in a post-apocalyptic Russ Meyer-meets-’Tank Girl’ style future that is plagued by shark attacks. (How 2013!) 2. Avril makes out with her costar Danica McKellar, aka Winnie from ‘The Wonder Years.’ She even does a Kevin Arnold-style voiceover when they lock lips. 3. Billy Zane is in it. Also, BearShark, whom Avril takes down with a razor-sharp electric guitar while Billy Zane watches on a Segway. Basically, it’s the greatest Avril Lavigne video since…ever? Okay, now you may go back to never thinking about Avril Lavigne again.

11 Heart-Stopping Video Game Speed Runs
31 aug 2013 18:33
Sometimes you feel like really taking your time with a video game, digging around, finding treasure, leveling up to maximum capacity. Other times you just want to run like hell. These are those times, and if you’ve ever played any of these games, and you suffer from untreated anxiety, you might not want to watch these videos. Speed runs can get a bit intense. Here are 10 speed runs going through individual levels in a game, because, although it’s impressive that somebody beat Chrono Trigger in under seven hours, that doesn’t mean we want to sit and watch it all. However, we will include the speed run of the ENTIRE ‘Tiny Toons’ NES game, because when we were 11 we thought we were so awesome for being able to beat it in under 40 minutes. This video puts that record to shame.
