Life Decided That Things Were Going A Little Too Well For You

Sometimes things just suck. You try to be positive and put on a happy face and all that jazz, but sometimes? Let's be real. Sometimes things are just terrible. The good thing, though, is that you're not alone in the struggle. Here are some other instances of day-ruining events that, for once, aren't happening to you.

Steampunk Jewelry Made From Old Watch Parts By Lithuanian Artist

Lithuanian artist “Nestre” creates unique steampunk jewelry like earrings, pendants, rings, cuff-links, bracelets and hairpins. All jewelry is made by hand using tiny, real wristwatch and pocket watch parts (gears, cogs, arrows, wheels, bridges, springs etc.). They are positioned in a antique brass, copper or bronze base and sealed with a transparent resin which comes out as glass. The resulting appearance seems almost eternal.

Many Afghan Girls Are Not Allowed To Ride Bicycles

Skateistan, an innovative NGO in Kabul founded to empower Afghan children (and especially young girls), teaches children to skateboard as a gateway to get them more involved in education. In many Afghan communities, it is customary to forbid women from riding bicycles. Skateboarding, then, becomes an empowering activity that gives these girls a source of physical exercise, empowerment, and some plain and simple fun.

The first step was finding the right material...

Many of us grew up on Sesame Street. We all had our favorite characters, but there was one in particular that those of us with a sweet tooth could really identify with: the Cookie Monster. He made it okay to shamelessly chow down on tons of cookies when you got a hankering. And while there are plenty of ways to show your love for the Cookie Monster, this rug is perfect for any toddler who needs a fun, comfy spot to munch on some delicious cookies.
