The Best Cosplay From Comic-Con 2013
22 jul 2013 15:14
SDCC 2013 has come and gone, and we may have been sitting in our hot, un-air conditioned NYC apartment, sweating out a horrendous heat wave in our underpants, but look what's out on the internet, and geez, they took some great pictures! Obviously so many amazing things happened there, but our favorite part of Comic Con is always the cosplay. Here are some of our favorites from this year, but be sure to check out Comics Alliance for even more awesome pics from the Con.

Geraldo Shares Topless Selfie on Twitter, Internet Goes Crazy
22 jul 2013 15:12
Geraldo Rivera has been married five times, so he seemed intent on showing just what these women find so irresistible. Rivera caused quite the stir on the internet when he posted a picture of himself wearing nothing but a towel on his Twitter feed Sunday morning, alongside the caption, “70 is the new 50. Erica [his wife] and family are going to be so pissed…but at my age…” The photo sent the microblogging site into overdrive, with more than 1,000 retweets. Perhaps realizing he did some serious visual oversharing, Rivera did the world a service and later deleted the tweet, writing:

Animals Who Think They’re People
22 jul 2013 15:11
If we all didn’t love anthropomorphic animals so much, there’s no way Disney would be as successful as it is. It turns out there’s something better than cartoon animals acting like people though — real animals acting like people. Granted, none of these guys are going to break into song, but that doesn’t mean we can’t pretend, because we have imagination. It’s the one thing that separates us from these book-reading, clothes-wearing animals.

Philly Mom Trying to Hire Secret Prostitute for Virgin Son
22 jul 2013 15:09
Some moms go above and beyond the call of duty. Other moms try to get 19-year-old girls to prostitute themselves so that their socially awkward son won’t be a virgin when he goes to Harvard in the fall. If you want to believe an ad on Craigslist, that is. The mystery mom in question is looking for a cute girl to date her son and “turn him from high school nerd to cool college kid” by “showing him different sex positions.” MOOOOooom, you’re embarrassing me! In return, the mom offers to make the girl’s “financial issues disappear.” Assuming there really is a mom and a virgin son, and not just a sweaty internet neckbeard, this ad is très creepy. Here’s the whole thing, if you feel like shaking your head and wondering what’s wrong with the world today. Read it now, before it becomes a terrible romantic comedy with Jay Baruchel, Mila Kunis and Susan Sarandon as the mom

Woman Goes Crazy After Her Neighbor Allegedly Reveals Her Having Sex With A Cat!
20 jul 2013 12:46

Oklahoma city resident 23 year old Kristina Michelle Brown was charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon on her 72 year old neighbor, Elmer Morrison. He claimed the woman threatened him with a knife, and the reason for it is as bizarre as can get, and quite sick to be honest. When conversing with the police she said that the man revealed that she had sex with her cat! "Because everyone knows. I had sex with my cat and everyone knows" was her statement. But when she was confronted a little later she took back her claim and instead said that her neighbor "does not know about what she did with the cat, she is just mad at him and wants him to die." Talk about crazy. Seems like she might have been on drugs, or may be had a mental disorder. Anyhow, I hope the cat is okay.

Kanye West assaulted a photographer known as Dano at the Los Angeles International Airport this Friday. He allegedly tried to take away his camera, and is now at risk of being sued for attempted robbery. The photographer was said to be injured, but the extent is unknown. Coincidentally this happens to be the same paparazzo that badgered Britney Spears back in 2007 and got his car smashed by her umbrella. Seems like he might be on a quest to make some quick buck by getting on celebrities last nerve.

People in Detroit don't like piles of tires
19 jul 2013 21:35
Apparently, this is how the news is reported in the city of Detroit. A bit melodramatic, with weird camera angles, sporatic appearances by the news reporter, angry comments, and tire dumping people. Wait. Hold on. A guy who dumped tires on the side of someones neighborhood made the NEWS?! Alright, so maybe Detroit doesn't have too many interesting things going on right now. But this news reporter seemed to have hit the sweet spot for story of the day with "Tire Dumping Man". Confused. Angry. WTF?! Yeah, pretty much describes the video. Take a look:

It is absolutely no surprise that Silicon Valley is filled with some of the sharpest minds, after all, Apple, Google, Youtube, Netflix and Twitter Head Quarters are based on the Silicon Valley. So why is it then that every single start up that pops up in the area not only sounds the same, but also are based on the same idea. Bitly, Borkly, Barnly, Molestly, Strinkingly, Happily, Crappily, Maply, Morply, Dottly, Dootly, Godly, Angrily. Jesus! Can they get a little more creative!? These people are doing too much of the same thing. To illustrate the hilarity of this, I've found an illustration for you all. Behold!

Ever since the Treyvon Martin case made the news, and recently settled with Zimmerman being set free of all charges, including second degree murder, it might be quite an understatement to say that our nation has been in a state of discontent and unrest. Our nation especially always has had an interesting past with racism and this seems to have once again sparked that feud. President Obama has recently had a press conference in order to settle the nations qualms. Surprisingly, his thoughts and reflections were quite intimate and insightful. Take a look for yourself:

Astounding Light Torch Recreations Of Masterpieces By Michael Bosanko.
19 jul 2013 15:42

Light artist Michael Bosanko has a very unique way of creating amazing pieces using light torches. Here's the process in his own words, "In real time, I leave the camera's exposure open," he said. "While the camera is exposing for up an hour, I step into the scene and move light sources in a way that is captured on the camera's sensor. In real time, the casual viewer will only see me moving lights about in what seems a random fashion. All the while the camera's sensor is picking up the trails of light, and recording real time in one still image." In his recent project he used colored torches to copy masterpieces from artists throughout history. Check them out!

Russian President Takes The Notion Of A "Public Figure" To An Extreme!
19 jul 2013 12:49

I have nothing against Putin, but it seems like all the pressure of being Russia's president for over a decade has taken a toll on him. He's well known for his publicity stunts, and has done everything from riding a horse, shirtless, to flying with a flock of cranes, to finding ancient Greek pottery in the Black Sea. It seems that he is desperately trying to portray a macho as well as a humble man image of himself. It's understandable that keeping himself in the public eye is important, but quite frankly the scale and frequency of his stunts borders on ridiculous. May be he's overcompensating for his aging ego? Here's what I mean.

Amy Schumer on NBC
18 jul 2013 23:52

Amy Schumer has been making the rounds to basically do the robot over the fact she had a successful first season of her show and tell everyone it’s on Hulu Plus now. And while her show is pretty funny, I’m a little conflicted about her. Whenever I think about Schumer, I think about the jokes she made about Patrice O’Neal’s diabetes during the Charlie Sheen Roast. Of course, that diabetes later killed him. Now, I don’t want to sound like I’m angry at her for making the jokes since it’s a roast and it’s fair game. But the train of thought just reminds me that Patrice O’Neal is gone and it makes me sad. It’s totally random and I can’t quite get over it. Sorry, Amy. Anyway, she was on Leno and they talked shop about crappy comedy gigs in their past. One of the stories involved performing at a hunger strike…for a terrorist organization. Take a look.

Jersey Joe’s Pizzeria in San Diego
18 jul 2013 23:50

People on the Internet never cease to amaze me with the way they dig random things up and catch people doing the craziest, most bizarre stuff. Yesterday, some folks at 4Chan somehow tapped into the unsecured security webcams that are allegedly in the kitchen of Jersey Joe’s Pizzeria in San Diego, and they caught the gentleman in the above image whackin’ it. Naturally, once the image went viral, people absolutely had a field day with Jersey Joe’s Yelp page, which obviously has the restaurant’s owner, Giusepp Scire, rather pissed off since, you know, he denies that the kitchen is even the same as the one in his restaurant.

NFL Player Colin Kaepernick Strips Down for the ESPN Body Issue
18 jul 2013 23:39
Oh, hello … This is Colin Kaepernick, quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. For all of you who don’t understand sports, just know that this guy throws a football and he’s super sexy — especially when he takes his clothes off for the ESPN Body Issue. Every year, ESPN magazine puts out its annual Body Issue, featuring the hottest sports stars in the buff, with their sports equipment helping obscure their, um, naughty bits. And while everyone in this year’s issue is looking pretty fantastic, we have to hand it to San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick — he really takes the sexy cake on this one. Kaepernick is completely nude, posing in various positions, all oiled up and tan. As you can tell from the photos, one of the things Kaepernick is known for is his amazing collection of tattoos, which draw attention to his very toned physique. The Wisconsin native also plays baseball and was drafted into the MLB in 2009, but decided to pursue football instead. When he was just a kid, he wrote a letter predicting he would be six feet, four inches tall, and that he would play for either the 49ers or the Packers. (Dreams do come true, kids.) He also has a pet tortoise that he’s had since he was 10. Too cute.

Hugh Jackman Gets Sexy on Newsstands to Promote ‘The Wolverine’
18 jul 2013 23:35
‘The Wolverine‘ comes out in the next couple of weeks, so sexy leading man Hugh Jackman is promoting the crap out of it by doing his thing on the covers of several magazines. And for that? We are grateful. Hugh Jackman reprises the role of Logan/the Wolverine in the upcoming film ‘The Wolverine,’ a sort-of prequel to that lame ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ movie. He’ll also star in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ a veritable feast of sexy men, including Nicholas Hoult, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Evan Peters, and Peter Dinklage (what? Short dudes can get it, too). In ‘The Wolverine,’ Jackman heads to Japan and gets in some awesome sword action and encounters some new mutants we haven’t seen before. We’re excited. We’re even more excited that the star is gracing the covers of so many magazines this month, including GQ Australia, Men’s Health, and Men’s Fitness — three pertinent publications, given his style, swagger, and impressive physique. Jackman also stars in the upcoming drama ‘Prisoners’ with Jake Gyllenhaal. (Does he only ever star in movies with other sexy men? Seriously.)

U.K. Fans Pelt Rihanna With Food Following Late Start [NSFW]
18 jul 2013 23:33
Rihanna needs to work on her tardiness. The ‘Stay’ singer was late for yet another concert, this time in Manchester, U.K. — and the Brits didn’t take lightly to her transgression — and that fury led to a food fight. During her heavily backing-track assisted intro performance of ‘Rude Boy’ on July 16, Rihanna addressed the crowd in her usual potty mouth manner (because the f-word is like, so rebellious and rock star). “I love that s—,” she said. “I knew you guys were gonna be crazy, but f—. This is next level,” she gushed. Then when her beloved Navy began throwing things onstage, she got sassy. “There’s a good crazy and there’s a bad crazy. When you throw s— up here, that’s an epic fail,” she snapped. Once she realized it was grub and not gifts making its way onto the stage, she got even more annoyed. “I swear to God, cut that s— out. Really, chips? Chips though?!” She does have a point. Considering how much she charges for tickets to her oft lackluster performances on her Diamonds world tour, her fans may want to quit wasting their food.

Here's A Stack Of Anti-American Propaganda From North Korea
18 jul 2013 23:23
Every country in the world has a fair portion of its history steeped in bloodshed, war & a blatant disregard for human life – none of us are truly guilt free. But it’s one thing to document the history and shortcomings of a country and quite another to peddle political propaganda designed to drive a wedge between nations and fear amongst the population. The more restrictive a government and the less information that flows, the less aware its people become. Once that starts occurring, it’s infinitely easier t0 set the agenda according to your own interests. That’s the sole aim with any form of propaganda, cherry pick information designed influence an audience in an emotional rather than rational manner. Currently few do that better than North Korea – a country equally as secretive as it is restrictive. They’re not huge fans of the United States but then, why would you be if you’d been bombard constantly with these grizzly and gruesome images?

Photographer Beautifully Merges NYC Into The Grand Canyon

You’d be forgiven for doing a double-take with the following images, such is flawless nature of photographer Gus Petro imaginative manipulations. Whilst on a trip to the US last year, he felt inspired to start two different projects, one called Dense and the other Empty. One centred on photographing the built up streets & tall skyscrapers of New York City, the other shifted his focus to the vast hollow spaces of the Grand Canyon. But when he was back home in Switzerland, he hit upon the novel idea of incorporating both sets of photographs into an entirely new series. He’s calling it Merge, placing the bustling New York City itself deep inside the heart of Grand Canyon with breath-taking effect. “After showing the images, most of the people who haven’t been in either place thought it was real. They began questioning me where it is. I didn’t expect that for sure.” You can see more of his superb work via his official site - which two places would you like to see him merge next?
